No way. I like WCS more than most who value him, but there's a good chance we're back in the lottery next year and that draft is supposed to be great. That pick would have to have much better protection than top 3.

WCS is not worth a future first round pick, IMO, unless it's lottery protected.

I love how uppity folks get when you ask a question. Just cause I say I'd love to get Willie Cauley Stein, doesn't mean you have to get all indignant in some of your responses. If you think he's unattainable just say so, and keep it moving.

I'm still trying to get a sense of what people think WCS is worth, and what Tyreke is worth.

The folks who are clearly biased against Tyreke think he's only worth a bag of Zaps, but I think he's worth more than Calderone and Dunleavy, so I doubt he really has negative value. He's a good player who just didn't fit Gentry's system. Without knowing his medicals and current status, I can't tell you how much of a concern his recent injuries are going forward. Chandler Parsons just got the max after having an experimental microfracture alternative.

A case can easily be made that at $10m Tyreke is great value for any team, if he's healthy. Find me a better option that's available on the market. With teams wanting to save cap space for next year, the fact that he's expiring should also be very appealing. Hell, I'm not opposed to the Pelicans keeping him if they don't have something else lined up to improve this team by replacing him.

That's the exact problem. He's not healthy. Of course if Tyreke had come off a season where he played 70 games and didn't have yet another knee surgery we could easily move him.

The problem is that's not the reality of the situation.

With Crabbes if the world on 20 mil, Dell's phone should be burning to get a contract of Reke's value.

If there were 2 years left it would be super valuable.

I'm not even a Tyreke fan, I just think yall are acting like Chandler Parsons didn't just sign a max contract and he didn't finish the season. Do we know definitively what his health status is and whether he can pass a physical? Do we know if he'll be healthy by November? If the answer is we don't know, it's possible that medical professionals could have a better idea.

What the hell are you talking about? He's not healthy because he just played only 25 games this season, had his 3rd knee surgery in 13 months, and his time table released by the team had him as being ready around training camp time (and it's not training camp).

Do you know the long term severity of any of his knee injuries? Is the prognosis for Tyreke's health better or worse than Parsons? Is it better than Chris Paul's was following his multiple knee surgeries while he was in NOLA? Will his knee require more long term monitoring than Curry's ankles, Durant's foot, or Chris Dunn's shoulder?

This isn't rocket science, indeed. But it is something, like rocket science, that you are equally unqualified to discuss in the absolute way you keep opining on!

If a team's doctors can confirm that Tyreke should be ready by training camp, I think you're overstating and being hyperbolic about his injury concerns. He's 26. He's a vet. You think a team trading for him needs him to be ready for Summer League?!? Some teams won't care as long as he's healthy by Christmas.

But I guess I'll defer to your intimate knowledge of all things that you convey to everyone in such a nice and non condicending way.

clearly our collective posters are having an impossible time crowd sourcing the real value of Tyreke, partly due to nobody having any idea (it seems) if he can pass a physical right now, and partly due to the wide variety of opinions of his game when he is healthy. But if he can pass that physical, and we are limited to basically trying to swap our bad fit for somebody else's bad fit - is the idea in Oleh's recent article about Monroe even work under the cap? I know on the trade machine it works, but that doesn't necessarily make it so. If we send out Tyreke and Alexis where does that leave our cap situation?

I'm not asking if people like the idea (even though personally I do) - I am asking if this works financially and where does it leave us? Because if this is not the trade we make, it will likely be something like this, our bad fit for somebody else's bad fit, and then it's just a matter of plugging in other salaries instead of Monroe's to see where we would be, and what cash we'd have left, if any. I liked Fisher's idea of Leonard as well, but don't see how the $s work on that either. (oh to have drafted him instead of Austin...)

The problem with the Monroe for Tyreke + Ajinca deal is it leaves us with even less cap room at a time when we are trying to shed cap space. That trade in a vacuum would make it impossible for us to sign Galloway. Tyreke + Asik would be possible and would clear enough cap space that we wouldn't need to release Douglas, Babbitt, and Frazier.

Not commenting on the probability of these trades, just strictly talking about the numbers.

I think you misunderstand the argument. The argument isn't centered around your lack of real inside info concerning Tyreke's knees, but rather the relative value of Tyreke to team's that would be able to attain intimate knowledge of the long term prognosis for his health and have their own timetable for when they'd need Tyreke to contribute, which isn't immediately for any team.

Whether he's healthy right now is irrelevant. Any doctor employed by a team (except for the Pelicans apparently) can look at a players medical history and perform an exam to determine whether a player is expected to be fully recovered according to the team's timetable or if there are severe risk involved with acquiring the player.

But you just go ahead and continue to think this is ludicrous and call it rocket science.

So what exactly is your point? That a team will view Tyreke has having value because you believe their doctors can make an educated guess about the future of his knee and said team will trade tangible assets for Tyreke because of this projection?
