what I don't get is Drummond not on the radar, but compares him to Perk? Does he not like Perk? Or just assumes that he'll be picked earlier so that's what is meant by not on the radar.

It's one thing to talk with a scout abou the draft. It's another thing to talk plans.

As a far as this guy posting it, whatever. He can reap what he sews. People will love and hate. The court of public opnion will rule. I've talked to tell out and I didn't repeat everything we talked about, but, of course, I didn't pry. That's not my thing.

As far as the content goes, I just don't take it as 100% peeking-behind-the-kimono kind of info. It's just like any other rumor. It's something to go look at to corroborate, not something to take on its face.

I made that some point in a comment on a now-removed post about the rumor that someone else had up. Seems more like banter.

What makes me think it's BS is I'm not sure how Demps would compare Drummond to Perkins. They're very different players. One is a pretty unathletic, but mentally and physically strong "grunt worker" in the paint. The other is a pretty ridiculously gifted athlete that has questions about his mental makeup.

Just from a more outside point of view, I see it. I made the comparison last week.

Neither have any semblance of a offensive game.

Neither are particularly good defensive rebounders.

Neither can convert at the line.

Both are good help defenders.

I could definitely see Drummond being a more athletic Perkins. Perkins in 09 averaged 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. I could see Drummond putting up that sort of statline in his career.

If Drummond falls to 10, and we don't take him, I'm going to be furious. Especially if we take someone like Zeller ahead of him. I personally would not mind trading UP for Drummond.

No way Demps would pass up Drummond for Zeller.

I'd consider it. After reading the reports of his draft stock falling due to not playing or competing hard in workouts I basically envisioned a anchor around his ankle and let that thing go into the ocean. Not sure if I'd even take him at 14 now. Just not even remotely interested in a guy that doesn't care enough to even try or compete in predraft workouts, don't care how good he could be.

Sounds like he could be a risk to be a bust at 10. He has bust potential. I don't think his age is an excuse. He's not any younger than Beal or MKG. Even his coach said he may need 5 years.

That's a very good catch, I wasn't aware that he was the same age as those guys. I always thought he was a year younger.

I have to laugh at the age excuse though, it certainly wasn't thought of before the season when he was supposed to dominate. Like you said, it's just an excuse.

He's actually older than MKG by a month and MKG seemed to be ok this past season.

I will give him credit for having a better freshman season than Leonard who was abysmal before breaking out this past season. At least Leonard gained some confidence. What confidence will Drummond bring? He's a real project.

I think he's a month younger than MKG, actually. But he's two months older than Beal.
