He did not want the commitment of being a full time assistant.

We getting MDA and Jarron Collins from the warriors... Gotta say.... Scoop B reported first lol....
I dunno man... I recall several interviews in both his Phx and Houston days where reporters ask about what he is doing on offense, and he explicitly said, 'I just give it to Nash/Harden and let them do what they want because they are so great and they don't even need to be coached.' You could say he's just being humble maybe I guess, except for the fact that he is, IMO, one of the most narcissistic coaches in the league.
In any case, glad he is not officially a coach and it's my opinion that Willie Green, despite having less experience, is likely more intelligent than Dantoni.
Mike D'Antoni is joining the Pelicans as a coaching consultant. (ESPN first.) Additionally, Jarron Collins is expected to join Willie Green's staff. https://t.co/GbtVBO5cf4

IIIIII LIKE IT!
Pelicans also hiring Jarron Collins as an assistant coach, sources confirm.

Collins, a 10-year NBA veteran, was with the Golden State Warriors as an assistant since 2014.
Collins and Green worked together in Golden State from 2016-19. https://t.co/yHcbBXcLyS
As hornetzplaya stated
I'm all for anyone who has received tutelage from Steve Kerr! I got him and Pop as two of the smartest coaches ever.
I'd assume Collins is getting the lead assistant gig
Yeah like you said, I think that's kinda what everyone says to be modest and flatter someone else.
"Doctor, you cured that kid. How did you do it?"
"Ah I did nothing. The kid was tough and was the real hero."
And I agree. I love the idea of D'antoni consulting. That's going to be fun. Stoudemire was also used in some unique ways, IIRC. That was six kids ago for me. It's all fuzzy. He may have some cool ideas for Zion.
Anyone want another Kiwi?

Pels always had one of the top talented rosters. We just needed a great coaching staff for the players’ talent to translate into playoff berths and decent seeding. We’re finally getting them!
Money will be a key factor for Jackson, especially given the #Clippers don’t have much left. But, it’s no secret he likes the organization and enjoyed his role. One sleeper team to consider is New Orleans. Trajan Langdon likes Jackson.

Full confirmation on Pels coaching staff
How would we feel if at the end of the day, the Pels S&T Hart for Buddy Hield and then signed Reggie Jackson to the full MLE
Jackson is the type of move that makes sense in my head.
Jackson, Graham, NAW, Kira, Sato would be a nice backcourt.

Historically bad defense in Detroit but seems to have improved in LA.
PG- Jackson, Kira
SG- NAW, Graham
SF- Ingram, Hield, Temple, Murphy
PF- Zion, Jones
C- Jonas, Jax, Willy
Then you have Sato and the BAE
So many negative nannies on this forum. Why can’t you be positive?
PG- Jackson, Kira
SG- NAW, Graham, Didi
SF- Ingram, Hield, Murphy, Temple
PF- Zion, Naji, Jones
C- Jonas, Jax, Willy
Murphy over Temple to make Dae happy. Slap a 2 way on Jones and you can still sign Millsap
Dragic is still out there too. We may be in play to get him still.
Golden State has traded F Eric Paschall to the Utah Jazz for a protected future second round pick, sources tell ESPN.

This is the way
Yeah their tax bill is just stupid at this point. You've gotta think they're trying to move off somethign somewhere
Reggie Jackson shot 46% on 4.6 catch and shoot 3s per game last season
Honestly, even if the only two players we picked up from here were Reggie Jackson and some filler vet PF, I'd already start having delusions of grandeur. Our D would be suspect but our offense would be fire. If everyone was on the same page and playing team basketball, I'd see us as a top 5 seed just from that. Jonas Valanciunas is a huge addition everything else has kinda buried.
Apparently BKN supposed to be holding up a big trade.
ESPN Sources: After medical consultation, seven-time All-Star F LaMarcus Aldridge is seriously considering a return to the NBA this season. Aldridge retired with Brooklyn in mid-April with heart concerns, but is exploring the possibility of resuming his 15-year career.

Also, I think we still need another 3point shooter on this team. I’m excited about Trey Murphy III in the summer league, I expect him to have a big role this upcoming year especially if we don’t land a veteran sharp shooter.
Cavs discussing S&T for JHart.
Send us Rubio and Hart's yours.

Free agent Spencer Dinwiddie is headed to the Washington Wizards on a three-year, $62 million contract via sign-and-trade, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Let's see if we get involved.
Okay so the Dinwiddie trade's dropped.
If we're going to do something, now is as good a time as any other.
