I cannot stop wondering about a trade:
Asik. Moore and Pels 2018 lotto protected
For
Wes Matthews and Dallas 2018 2nd

Pels are taking care of Asik. And taking 2 years of 35 millions (Wes will opt in. If not this is win win for Pels) of Matthews.

Dallas are taking nice backup SG. Pick to sweeten Asik deal. They may stay with Omer for a year and stretch him next season.

Pels might use this second rounder to dump Ajinca.
Dallas are not in love with Wes.

And Pels dont have a cap hit for stretching Asik. It might be useful for future. Even 3,5 millions...

Probably this wont happen but it seems at least considerable for both teams...

Why would we need to sign and trade? Is Allen getting more than minimum offers?

Works in the trade machine but I would think additional picks would need to be included since the first would basically be for them to take Asik.

So it's not the first time I read about people wanting Melo. I am definitely not one of them. There were also ideas about Kyrie since Cleveland is becoming a mess. I was just thinking and if Cleveland is really becoming a mess why shouldnt me make a move at Lebron :) I mean if he really wanted to beat GSW wouldnt his best chance actually be on New Orleans team with Davis and Cousins? I am not good with trades but I imagine someone would just have to convince Lebron :)

I just don't see us having enough to interest the Knicks. Stranger things have happened though.

Also, Melo was willing to go to Houston. Is Harden/CP3 better than AD/Boogie? I think Melo fits better with the Pels since he would be the only dominant wing/perimeter player.

The second we put our 2018 first rounder on the table, we already have Houston crushed as far as an offer. Assets are not the issue, it's getting Rondo, AD and Boogie on a plane to convince Melo that is the problem.

Personally I would not give up the 2018 1st rounder for him unless the deal included Asik at a minimum.

If you could cleanup some of our dead weight contracts along with a couple first, I'm all for it. There would be 2 scoring options on the floor at all time. I just wonder if his 3pt percentage is good enough for what we want (about 35%). Worse case Carmelo doesn't like it here but then he should be easy to move.

Because I think we would have the potential to get somethng better than Melo (33 year old 1 year rental) with our 1st at the deadline. Now if we unloaded Asik in the deal, that may sway me.

I don't they would. I would think we would need to add another pick. The 2018 first would be required just to unload Asik on them. But like I said, stranger things have happened.

Plus it's more than Houston could offer.

Just need to convince Melo to come here.

Let me get this correct. So its perfectly fine to speculate about a Lin or Bledsoe trade for a month but for casual fans to discuss a Melo trade that personally I don't think will happen but wouldn't be shocked if it did is wasting time, lol. Weather it happens or not it's a fan message board for the purpose of fans discussing the team they enjoy. So unless its a couple fans bickering back and forth I wouldn't call it "wasting time". Unless you get paid for it I prefer the term hobby. No different than any fan besides trolls posting on this board no matter the "rumor" or flavor of the day.

Their reasoning might be wrong but it doesnt mean the idea of Melo coming here isnt wrong. The dude is a selfish ball hog who doesnt make others better and also plays no defense. And has a big ego
