By the way LSU losing 2-1
#anybodybutHeat!
Hmmm, Where are the Heat supporters tonight?
Go UCLA!
Is there a tv channel that has the full post game press conferences?
Would be nice to see the Spurs close it out in 6...
Still rooting for the Heat, but Ginobili played a fantastic game.
Certainly been one of my favorite players to watch growing up.
Great response by the Spurs Big Three.
Should make for an interesting Game 6.
I personally believe the Heat would win Game 7. Every win for the Heat has come from a sense of desperation which causes LeBron to actually try rather than go through the motions. It's up to San Antonio to win Game 6 or the pressure is really on.
Duncan > LBJ
I gotta feeling if the heat win, it will come down to what they are willing to call for lebron. We lebron doesn't get calls, he tends to shy away from the paint (as you saw last game). However, if the spurs can hit from deep, that will be null and void and the spurs will win.
I don't think the heat can beat pop n the spurs 2 In a row. Spurs role players are in another stratosphere co pared to Miamis role players. Danny greene gets the finals MVP.
I agree with this. The problem for them is that they put those expectations out there with the pep rally. If not for that, I'd say most would compare them to Boston's experiment in which they came away with 1 ring and only two finals appearances. The Heat have already surpassed this so I think this would do more to harm LeBron's legacy more than it would hurt the "so called Big 3 experiment" in Miami.
I don't really argue with people who call their opinions facts, what's the point ?
There's not a lot to debate. If you set a goal and you don't achieve it, you did not succeed.
IF([Championships]>=2,Pass,Fail)
Lol, I don't necessarily agree that it's a failure; I'd have to think about it. The gut reaction feels that way though.
There's nothing personal about it. The point remains the same. I brought up a very clear difference between what's a failure vs a disappointment. Miami is not in the same boat as the Knicks, Nets, or Lakers of this past year. They are failures because they were unable to get 1 title. Miami might have not win 3+ titles that people thought they were but they were able to win 1 which supports my case.
I have to disagree. When you put together a team with 2 of the top 5 players in the league and another player who is in the top 3 of his position (Lebron #1, Wade #2, and Bosh a top 3 PF in his own right), you assemble the best supporting cast in almost ever, 3 finals appearances, and only 1 championship? That's a failure to me. When you put together a team like that, a championship is almost GUARANTEED, GIVEN! And not only was it one ring, it was a ring in a shortened season. It's a big difference b/w a lockout season and regular 82 game season.
Disappointment is the same thing as failure to me. IF you didn't set out and achieve your goal, then it is a failure. And to be honest, one championship was expected, that was a given. That's why it wasn't a really big deal when MIA won their ring last year.
If the Clippers were able to form that big 3 with Paul, Howard, and big time player and never wins a championship, do you put them in the same boat as Miami as a failure? Apparently, I'm not in touch with the way some of y'all feel consider what a failure is, so I ask this simple question.
Who's the third player ? Like an example of the tier he's in? Top 3 at his position?
Yeah, THAT WOULD BE A FAILURE TOO! When you assemble a borderline all-star team and come out of an era with only ONE ring to show for it, that is underachieving, failing, coming up short, they are all the same things. Just like the Nash-Kobe-Gasol-Howard thing was failure, and how the Drexler-Pippen-Barkley thing was a failure. But you wanna know why the MIA thing is even a bigger failure? Because all those dudes are in the top of their positions AND are in their primes. The 2 I mentioned, pretty much all of their players (except for Howard) are over the hill and ring chasing and have pretty much dropped off of the radar. Same thing with Garnett-Pierce-Allen, those dudes were near done and at the end of their careers. Heck, people were even STILL picking the Cavs to knock them off. NO ONE has picked the Heat to be knocked off, NO ONE.
Did they also do something similar or comparative to:

I just realized that CNN was broadcasting that. lol
Because nothing like it was done! This wasn't The genius of a front office using strategic picks and signings to build a dynasty (like the 80's Celtics), these dudes took the league by surprise and basically held the league by its balls! There has not been a big ANYTHING with 3 top 10 players ALL IN THEIR PRIMES.
And if you know the story of it, this thing was in the making for more than 4 years.
