I with you on the bolded. I figure whether we do it now or in the summer...he's going to get moved regardless. Whether its because he doesn't want to be here or the Hornets have finally realized that this guy is too injury prone for the money we're paying him. either way you cut your losses and move on.

I'm sorry if it makes some on this board think I'm a "Gordon hater" but I don't want to sit here and watch this team fail to get anything out of this guy, thus hold the team back, because they don't want to admit they made a mistake by investing in someone thats not going to either be on the floor enough to really help the team or go all in mentally for the team because his feelings are still hurt over 1yr that wasn't added to his contract.


If we let him go for Klay...I'm fine with that. If we let him go in the summer, without having to worry about his veto power hindering the trade, I'm fine with that too. But I think either way he's going to get moved.

Im glad we dont have an idiot of a gm. there is no reason to trade a 24yr old 2guard that is better than most for scraps. hurt or not its not good business to rush into trades that will not help the team. Plus i dont believe when sources are other websites that make up scenarios. and fans eat that up lol. the core we have is nice. we need to add a few more pieces and we will be a great team. folks need to chill with the bum trades and watch the work we will put in.

Of course it would be. Just saying that's the buzz. I'd do Klay + Jefferson in a heartbeat. Especially if they could throw in Green or a first.

Other way around. Gordon is a much better player than Klay, and we'd have to take on money like Richard Jefferson to make it work. So they would have to throw more our way, I would imagine.

I am ready for the Gordon drama to end. However, I do not think that is enough for Gordon. I would want Barnes as well. Something like Thompson, Barnes and Beidrens for Gordon and Roberts. I doubt the Warriors would do that, but to me that would at least bring decent value.

If the Hornets are truly concerned with Gordon's injury history then they should do everything they can to get Golden State to accept this deal. I can't imagine getting a player much better than Thompson with the upside for Gordon, even over the summer.

It would be dumb to even trade to Golden State since they're in the same conference and more dumb with Houston being as they are in the same division and Conference. Deal him to the East where he could be closer to home. I just don't like our young team playing against former disgruntled players;it comes back to bite us every time. It happened to the Saints in years past with the Falclowns.

I have a hard time trying to see why any other team would want Gordon. I do not see us being able to get any value in a trade. As such, I would expect he will not be moved, at least not now.

The Heat drafted him. So they had to dance with him through the rough patches. We traded for him and are less on the hook.

I'm not saying get rid of him ASAP, but if the iron is hot...who knows.

You trade Eric Gordon to a West team he might not even suit up when they face the Hornets.

Why does everyone keep throwing out the "we're not going to get any value" card out? What kind of value do you expect from a guy that has been red flagged by every GM in the league as an injury risk? This dude is not on a All Star level...he has the potential to do that but has not shown he can stay on the floor long enough to prove so. So no matter if you trade him now or in the summer, its not like you're going to get value you want for him in the first place. Thats the risk you take by trading someone.

Get rid of him because he said things that hurt the fans feelings? Players get injured, it happens. But good GMs don't just trade their talent for trash players and over rated draft picks . This week will be very telling for Demps

1. It's not as simple as, "Well we'll only deal him to East teams!"

2. It's very different in the NBA vs. NFL. The regular season games mean much less per game, the impact of a player lessens when you have a few games over 82 games vs. one or two over only 16.

Dwyane Wade, in his career, has never played less than 51 games in a (non-shortened) season. This is true....but when it is a pattern, something thats been hindering him not only during his time in NOLA but while he was a Clipper too then there is a logical reason to cut bait. Yes you might not get the value you might think he's worth but based on the actual time he's seen on the floor...and the pattern of injury he has. You are not going to get you the value you thinks he's worth. GMs have to look at the entire picture and potential and a few 20pt+ games and a whole lot of missed ones just don't cut it. Those are facts and thats the way the business is run. You won't get a the type of percieved "caliber" player Gordon is back for him but you will remove him off your books gain some decent assets to imbed in your team or flip for something else and become flexible financially.

I've seen teams too many times hang on to a player that is not worth the money and play the game of "maybe this year" and end up stuck for years. You're taking a risk either way....I say take the cheaper less drama filled one.

BTW FWIW, I sat three rows behind the Hornets bench last night and not once did anyone ever check out Gordon's knee, back, or hand.

He never iced it down, he never got on the bike. Makes me wonder about these back to back things.

Maybe he'll play tonight. I actually don't even care if he starts. lol If he can go 20 minutes on back-to-backs that shows some improvement, at least.

I don't see a reason why Gordon shouldn't play. He needs to show that he can tolerate back to backs.

It is. At this point I just think it's a "lets not try to win to many games" strategy. He's about a week away from being back for two months, no reason he shouldn't be playing in these games. No reason.

Same goes for the limited minutes. It's obvious once he leaves the court with 4 minutes left in the quarter we're a different team.

I brought this up even before the game last night. I would have rathered he played tonight than last night.

But then when you start picking games for him to play, that could send a bad message. Like if he sat last night I'm sure some people would view it as "Monty probably felt we couldn't beat Chicago with him anyway" or something like that.
