Portis agreeing to stay in Milwaukee. Shams reports
Quote:
After NBA championship, Portis’ loyalty was with Milwaukee and he cherished the organization’s culture and winning environment. The MIL community embraced him. Portis passed on more money in favor of the Bucks last summer — and this year he stuck with happiness and stability.
Portis turned down potential deals from the Mavericks and Heat, sources said. After six NBA seasons, Portis has found a home -- and will play to repeat as a champion next season.

Why buddy because he can shoot 3’s? It a lot of money for a guy that does one thing. I’d rather spend on someone else. Plus I don’t think I’d want to come back to a team that traded me away. Bagley and Barnes would be interesting to me.
Free agent F Trevor Ariza has agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, his agents Aaron Mintz, Steven Heumann and Erika Ruiz of @caa_sports tell ESPN.

Everyone’s getting snatched up fast
It's gonna be Midnight Hour for David unless he got a trade being cooked up unless he really wants to give out bad contract to low ceiling role players.
Our FA relations must be in the toilet.
So DeRozan, Dinwiddie, Oladipo, Powell, and Rose are all still available. Pels need to make serious offers or they’ll be gone in the next 2 hours.
Free agent Dwight Howard is returning to the Lakers, his agent Qais Haider tells ESPN.

Griffin managed to get Valanciunas in a trade, granted that was through trade with a team and not directly negotiating with the player. But he has to be planning on get another good player in FA
A complete overpay. This guy is fragile.
Free agent Evan Fournier has agreed to a four-year deal that could be worth as much as $78M with the New York Knicks, source tells ESPN.

Free agent Nicolas Batum has agreed to a two-year deal to return to the Los Angeles Clippers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

It's impossible to get guys in FA lol
Our best bet might be to take Dragic off the Raps and give Dipo a contract
I think one thing we have to realise is that we do have a roster.
Kira/Sato
NAW/Hart
BI/Naji
Zion/Murphy
JV/Jax
Yes, it would be nice if we could add something - and I certainly hope we can - but if the only option is a massive overpay then I'd rather just go into the season as is.
Like, for example, Powell is still available. I want to add Powell. But if Powell is demanding $25m a year for 4 years, I would rather just go into the season as it is.
Free agent G Derrick Rose has agreed to a three-year, $43M deal to return to the New York Knicks, source tells ESPN.

Watch us end up with Dennis lol
There is irony in New Orleans. They sell at least 2 second round picks for money and the most valuable thing they get in the sign and trade is a 2nd round pick. LOL
I feel like whatever Devonte ends up getting will be in line with that 3yr $43m deal Rose got. $13-15m a year type thing.
Another reason why selling basically all of our second rounders is dumb - we don't attract FA
Rose gone. DeRozan, Oladipo, Dinwiddie, Powell, Fournier, and Schroeder left. Who’s the next star FA Guard signing that the Pels will miss out on?
