Both had good minutes and got the win. Damn near perfect night.
Liked what I saw from DD. Gutsy win. This team comes out with intensity from the start. Love that.
I didn't catch all of the game. Love the DD minutes and hype. Can someone explain the -18 away for me?
Dallas getting got by CJ Stockton tonight.
CJ needs to look for Trey a bit more when he drives
Strange game. Both teams shot 50% + from the field, which reduced the rebound totals. Pels only had 26 boards. lol
After 4 games, Trey is 13/19 from the three point line.
Chuck big dumb arse.."Somebody named T Murphy was 8 - 8 and 4 - 4 from three."
Yeah Chuck kid can shoot. Was 50/40/90 in college.
The thing I’m liking about this win is it didn’t feel lucky. We competed with them all night and didn’t win due to some otherworldly 3 point streak or Luka laying a turd in the bed. This team is talented. It is deep. CJ despite his struggles and Jonas both demand respect as well from defenses and it shows.
Awesome game, without 3 starters. This team is going to get better the hole season.
Kenny and Kevin are alright. Shaq is pretty bad with his current knowledge
I really hate +- analysis. Dyson’s defense passes the eye test. I continue to be impressed by the way he can stay in front of whoever he’s guarding. And unlike most rookies he doesn’t bail the offensive player out by reaching. It wouldn’t surprise me if by the end of the year he’s on the court at the end of close games.
I will say Green is weird about defensive substitutions at times as has been pointed out. I’d wager it’s part of some philosophy that if you play hard you will earn those extra minutes despite not being a great defensive player. Interesting to say the least
Naji was excellent btw. Dyson needs minutes but Naji was a big part of this win. Hopefully he learned his lesson to stop clocking his own star teammates in the nose.
Next game is friday in Phoenix. Hopefully everyone is healthy by then.
Meanwhile the "deepest team in the league" got throttled in OKC missing PG and Kawhi.
Very weird time of the year though.
In four games, the Pels have had 4 different high scorers, and it has yet to be Zion.
My biggest critique of Dyson tonight was his passing looked very sloppy. Not like he was turning it over left and right but he threw a lot of funky dishes. Needs to clean it up a bit.

good game...team played hard...got to give it up to naji for making luka work hard for most of his points....DD like playing defense and i enjoyed watching it and was surprised by his offense.....graham stepped up tonight.....nance had a good game but was mad that he kept switching and putting graham and cj on bigs in the paint...
jax has to go lol....
The story of the game is a team win but also a signature game from TM3. He really shined with increased minutes Willie is going to have to find a way to get him some extra time even when BI and Herb are healthy.
The Dyson takes are so disingenuous. +/- watching nonsense
The plus minus for him is off because the Mavs were the better team but the Pels had an insane shooting start that gave them the cushion to withstand the other 38 minutes or so. And Dyson wasn’t on the floor for that crazy start
He was great defensively and played within himself offensively. And barely 19, with his first real
Minutes on National TV. Kid is gonna be real good
His rim protection for his size is already elite. When he adds weight is truly going to be special. It will allow this team to be so much more versatile defensively
As of today, 4 games into the season, the Pelicans have the league's 2nd best adjusted net rating, the 2nd best adjusted Ortg, and the league's 8th best adjusted drtg.
Still think that this team, even when fully healthy, is still a guy away. And I have always assumed DD would be giving us good minutes in the 2nd half of the year. But what I am starting to think now is that they need one more great defensive rebounder for these switching lineups Willie loves to use against teams with non elite bigs. Even if Olynyk misses that shot, we ain’t getting the rebound. Zion or Herb aren’t great rebounders. One more wing who can get those boards in small lineups. Honestly, you take out Devonte and you add Hart and this is pretty much a perfect team
What do you think the odds are that we can actually pull off a trade for Hart. Would be huge for this team
Agreed. Would love to know how much more we would've had to include to keep Hart and move Devonte. I know there's still a sense of pride in the Devonte move where they think "if he had just played next to Zion." Still, yes, one more move will be necessary either this year or next. Will be super interesting to see when they play their cards, or if they wait out this Lakers team. Hard to tell which guys will be available at this point in the season
