Davis was +1 in 44 minutes, and we lost by 14
Gentry has taken a team to the NBA WC Finals. Had multiple winnings seasons. How is Snyder who is in his 2nd year with a losing record in his 1st and only .500 while the season is still very early better then Gentrt? You can say how he would have his roster or whoever but nothing backs that's up. The Jazz injuries have been nothing compared to ours this season or last season. His injuries last year should have been no excuse right? His injuries this year don't compare. We have a better team healthy then them of course. Not a better team with the injuries we have making our depth terrible with starters as the bench players while bench players are the street clothed and out of work guys. Should we win some of these games and not look bad yea but just like really good teams get beat buy ones that should have had a chance it happens and it is going to happen extra with the issues we are dealing with. No coach is good without the players and injuries cause us to not have those players to keep players. I like Snyder a lot but nothing backs up he is a better coach or ever will be even close to as successful as Gentry has been.
Well 339-382 is nothing to jump and down about but you be the judge.

The injuries, new coaches, and this schedule is the perfect recipe for 4-13.
Even with a bad guard situation, what's hidden is almost no production from the 3 spot, and Gee is fouling too much on defense. Cunningham could never guard that position. So Pondexter out is an even bigger problem.
Gentrys career record is worse than Snyder's. But I am a man who lives in the moment (see how I brush off Ish's past), and in the current moment Snyder has more wins while not fielding an AD. We have had plenty of AD and supporting players, but have only mustered 4 wins. Snyder has taken a team without a star and gotten them to play .500 ball, and it's not like they are beating crap teams. Last year his record showed me he was a rising star in the coaching ranks, this year is making it seem more like a self fulfilling prophecy. Gentry and his staff are showing they can't coach up players, or at least form a decent game plan.
But keep rocking that WCF's appearance. Brian Hill and Byron Scott went so far after making an NBA finals appearance, that this too should pass.
We have 4 wins, and we just gave them their 8th. There is really no comparison. We are a poorly constructed, poorly coached team.
You are right though, we do have the toughest SOS, while they have the 8th (a difference of .033...some mile that is). They also don't have an AD.
The good old injury excuse.
Cleveland would struggle in the same situation with Lebron. OKC would struggle in the same situation with Westbrook. Golden St. would struggle in the same situation with Curry. The Clippers got spanked in this same situation against the Suns. A team the Pelicans just beat twice.
I don't know what kind of magic you are expecting to see.
I guess I am just overselling the transcendent AD. I expected what Larry Brown warned us about (how when AD got to a team they would win 50 games he was just that good). Oh well. My bad.
Our players simply didn't hit shots tonight. This wasn't a coaching problem. Everybody missing except AD while Ish takes the second most shots by near double everyone else's attempts you will lose. We need our players back and some time to gel before expectations of beating teams constantly is realistic. Having the players we are missing give you the chance to wins these games with the expectations at least a couple of them play well even when Gordon, Ryno, and Jrue suck. Just Reke having a good game and QPon average hitting a couple of shots we win. That's the difference when having actual talent.

We are going to be a miracle cured when Cole and Reke return! I'm going to have the bump all the hate Cole threads you guys did during the summer.
I gave them enough because they obviously factor into the Pelicans #1 SOS.
But they also just beat a team missing 3.5 important players. They were missing Favors, then take away Burks 21 points and Ingles 9 off the bench. Then give us Cole and Pondexter. Do they still win tonight?
I don't like that Gentry only played our big Cs 12 minutes. Let Asik work through his issues while he still rebounds and defends. But that still is not the main issue right now. Ish playing both ends for 37 minutes per night is.
You need to go take a look and dig a little deeper into the situations he was put in and what some of his rosters looked like. Then check his record when he had even some talent. You looking up the history of his record while not even considering or probably knowing all of his situations means nothing.
When Reke returns whenever that is we are not losing! I'll play along
Few cant seem to get it through to their heads and it's a little shocking. I can find countless cases of good and great coaches having bad season when they aren't loaded with talent. We are suppose to win every game with a star a couple of scrubs along with bench players as starters. The Jazz have a good team with depth but I would love to see them missing a few players.
I can't wait til we are healthy and winning at a .600 clip. That will finally be the time when we can judge Gentry. Not til then though. Why do we even need a coach if we are just going to say "well he needs healthy players for his system to work." Just let him hang out at home, and then when we are finally healthy tell him to come on back.
Maybe during his hiatus we can have fans buy $1000 raffle tickets where if their name is called they get to coach the team that night. It could end with the fan doing a press conference, being dumbfounded as to why their team lost, and maybe even throw in a few nice suits for them to wear to them game.
Assuming there are no setbacks and the staff isn't lying, the schedule sets up where I can see them reaching .500 before January. I can see another run coming up shortly as our real NBA players work back in.
I hope the "fire Demps" and "we have a mismatched roster" threads keep flowing while all that is going on. Be steadfast in your beliefs. Don't waver.
I would call Ryno a luxory, not a scrub.
The Jazz are a good team because they have a good coach. They have plenty of good players, but nobody who on their own will make you stand and say, "well that is a great player." It's a sum of their parts type deal. Corbin had the same crew and did nothing with it. Snyder comes in and he has them on pace for the playoffs by year two.
Do you know anything about the teams he was coaching with players or situations like being coach half way through the season with previous ones fired? Is it a coincidence when he had Nash and Stoudemire healthy with key role players they were a gam3 6 away against a great Lakers team from going to the NBA Finals? Quick tell me some players on those terrible rosters he had that you think even the great Pop could have made .500 coaching with? You mite have to go digging and it will take you a little bit and most likely forever because he had some downright terrible rosters. Acting like Snyder is all the sudden better has not facts to back it up while the other has much more success to back it up.
Please don't waver either. This team wasn't constructed by the fans. All the "this team is fielding players who don't belong in the NBA" who brought them here? Did NO Bronco get on the horn with Gee's people and say, "come on down, I have a nice contract for you." Did 4 Real call Jimmer and breath heavily into the phone and say "I want to be in the Jimmertime Business"? Did I call The guy backing up Ish and say, "yo, we need whatever it is you got as long as it isn't contagious" ? No, Demps put this roster together, and he has the power to change the roster as need sees fit. You know me, I will be here when they go on their hot streak, but man, is that going to happen?
Don't tell me about how good he was when conditions were perfect, tell me how he was when the ******** hit the fan.
A ship in a harbor is safe, but that's not why ships were built.
Much like Monty I think people are starting to over criticize Gentry and under acknowledge circumstance.
There is no coach in the league that could make the roster we currently have, with this toughest ranked schedule, implementing a new system on both sides of the ball into a contender at this point. Not to mention ignoring how important players and familiarity is to success in this league.
I'm not sure Gentry is the answer long term or not but its beyond premature to call it.
Did I ever call Rybo a scrub? I don't think so. Corbin had the same crew are you kidding me?! You mean the one Snyder had when he went 38-44? Or the much more improved team wth new players along with ones doing what they are suppose to and improve as players. Now your argument is a joke acting like Corbin had the same team. Snyder is a good coach with a very solid team. You don't have to have a super start to be a damn good team. You can have a superstar and be a bad team when you are missing half of your group which we are. Terrible example saying he has the same team and trying to compare because we have a super star while they just have a team full of health and very good players we should be on the same level or higher. Come on be realistic.
So is Ryno the scrub, the star, or the bench player forced to play starter mins, because every game AD has played Ryno has been there (your quote, not mine).
Now, go look at the roster turnover from Corbin to Snyder. You say the talent was doing what it was supposed to, and developing...talent didn't develop under Corbin...that's why he was fired. Snyder is doing well, but every playoff bound team in the West has one thing that the Jazz don't, and that's a star player. That speaks to Snyder's effective system.
And why are we bringing up Snyder's record from last season? It's still higher than age try's career average.
You are obviously not processing the situation very well. What kind of player do you expect them to bring in? You do realize it got so bad the team qualified to use an injury hardship exception right? Any other team in the NBA done this?
I'm pretty sure Demps, not in his wildest dreams, thought all of his point guards would go down at the same time. Plus Asik and AD missing games, plus Pondexter all so far. THAT IS TOO MUCH ***** at once.
It is what it is and all the team and its fans can do is wait for it to be somewhat normal again. Which is supposed to begin Tuesday.
This roster is Demps doing though. He brought the people in, no? The A******** resigning, The Ajinca resigning. We essentially got the same results had we burned the money, or given it to a meth head.
But on to Gentry. If his system isn't hitting at a .600 clip after a month of everyone being healthy (which I doubt we ever see everyone healthy), is that when we can start panicking? I just want to know when it's OK to doubt the move.

Our injury situation isn't that bad anymore. We're missing one starter and two role players. If we need to be 100% healthy, to win more than 25% of our games, we might as well give up now.
FIRE DEMPS
We were +1 when Davis was out on the floor. And in the 4 minutes he was on the bench we get outscored by 15 points can't make this ******** up.
Just who are you waiting to get healthy Cole and Evans you really think they are going to make that big of a difference . Evans is streaky and best and Miami gave up Cole for a ham sandwich and everybody thinks it's gonna be a huge turn around , not happening with this line up . I do think Evans is our second best player but he wouldn't even be in the starting five on most contenders teams . In fact no one on our team with the exception of AD would be . It's to early to give up on Gentry but it's time to cut ties with Dell he is very below average in my opinion .

right so what I'm hearing here, is replacing toney douglas and ish smith, with tyreke evans and Norris cole is not going to make a lick of difference? along with qpon who can shoot and defend better than any other 3 we have (both combined). Reke was our highest scorer behind AD last season. What I think is being blown out here, is the instant impact these players will have. they aren't realistically going to walk in, play 35 minutes, drop 20 points each and we go on a 50 game win streak. 15/5/5 from reke, 9/3/1.5 from qpon, and 9/2/3 from cole would be GREAT additions to our scoring lines alone. we're getting 12/4/8 from ish, 3/3/1 gee, and 7/1/2 from td (not taking away from them, they are doing what they can). but thats a 11 point differential in averaging scoring lines between those 6. TD is the only one of the current three with a ts% over .500. everyone of our missing 3 are over .500
then there are the defensive changes on not having ish guarding starters. not saying reke is a defensive guru, but his 1on1 is decent, and he has a major height and wing span advantage. then there's the change in spacing, in having to respect a 3 that can and will shoot the 3 ball. gee is 2/15 for the season. he has come out and said his role is d only, and done that well, but if he was shooting and dropping 3's it would make a world of difference on the offensive end. lord knows he's received the ball open in the corner countless times, but then its either followed by a drive nowhere or a pass to the next guy. and defenders having to stick to reke, and not sag off like they do ish. imagine a world where our cold handed center didn't have every player around him in the paint as teams sag off their assignment because they can. I don't know what people honestly expect. opponent defensive game plans must be fairly easy when they look at our current lineup. "oh hey Snyder, you worried about Gee or Ish shooting you out of this game? no? right but surely you must be worried about Asik then? nope." In the end, it may not result in instant wins, but it sure as hell would change our on court dynamics.
I think Ish is awesome but he needs to be under control more. Don't overestimate what you can do son.
You are listing a mix of fiction and irrelevant facts here. And you are doing that poorly. See the more well-thought-out post below.
When you are done seeing it, try reading it. You should learn more about the team from it, and you should also get a little lesson in facts, relevance, and logic.
You're welcome.
I don't think many know the very fine line between losing by 10 and winning by 10. It does not take much at all in creating that 20 point swing.
Missing 3 very important players, two of them being major ball handlers is certainly a major cog in that equation.
This team has beaten Dallas, San Antonio, an Phoenix twice. Given how difficult the schedule has been, and missing sometimes 4 starters, I'd say they squeezed out what they could.
