I just don't see Asik getting that much. He's on a bad contract, on a team that desperately needs to move him, with a league full of teams in tank mode that want to keep their 1st rounders. It's a bad time to be demanding a 1st. But the Rockets knew this going into courting Howard. They back off of this stance Or they become willing to take back a bad contract to get a 1st.
Asik, Casspi, Beverley for Gordon and 2016 1st?

Also if we can get a 1st in possible Morrow trade I would through that in.
Pelicans don't need to give up a 1st rd pick necesarily. They just need to find someone the Rockets value as much as a first rd pick. Can they do that with Rivers, Pierre, Aminu, Morrow, the exception, etc..?
If we are able to get Asik who play's SF does Morrow, Miller or Babbitt start?
Morrow
I hope this deadline is fun.
Asik, Jeff Green or IIyasova which player do you think we will trade for
Sorry meant Greg Monroe
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l75gydl
or if we take Villanueva off there hand we could possible get Monroe
LOL was thinking about the Bucks rumors
If we get a first round pick, I hope we draft Elfrid Payton from ULL. he's the only player in the draft who avg better than 20-5-5 and he is a defensive whiz like Holliday. I could see Monty really liking him, plus it is safe to assume his skills transfer; he is so fast.
I know PG doesn't seem like a position of need, but the Pels are in a good location to get a good one-up assesing his abilities
Sheee. I was just mistaken for Ilyasova at Mcdonalds.
The Pelicans should be all over Jordan Hill. Reportedly the Nets are considering offering a 2nd rounder to absorb Hill into their exception (in order to save the Lakers luxury tax payments). However, they are a little cautious about doing it given the $17.5 million luxury tax bill it will cost them. Hill would fit nicely into our exception and gives us part of a season to try him out.
That's a super desperate move by the Nets. Asking the owner to pay an extra 17.5M on top of their already extremely stupid luxury tax would be crazy. Then saying, "Oh btw we are going to give them a 2nd rounder too" for the privilege of paying that extra money. . .i dunno.
The Lakers would make this trade without getting anything back because it saves them just over 7M in luxury tax if they move him. For a player that Mike D doesn't like. I just have to imagine at some point the owner steps in and says enough is enough. The injury to Brook Lopez sucks and killed their chances but Jordan isn't going to put them over the top and would just be wasting money. I just can't see it happening.
sign hamilton
mle for jordan hill
pjax for quincy miller
Jrue/Rivers
Gordon/Tyreke
Hamilton/Quincy/Darius
AD/Ryno
Hill/Ajinca/Smith
good defense and scoring from the starters
great floor spacing for tyreke off the bench
I'd def roll with this team, in real life and 2k14 lol
If Lakers can trade Hill to Nets and force the Russian to put 17 mil. into pockets of other owners, Pelicans offer would have be a lot better than 2d rd pick and trade exemption. Money talks. Milk the Russian for all his questionably obtained cash!

Man this is going to be 1 disappointed board when Thursday comes no goes and nothing happens. Lol.
Unless its a real beast of an inside presence - monroe =Pipedream - I'm not giving up any assets for another mediocre or unproven big with upside. I like the ones we have now fine. Bring me a 3 man.

Can't wait for this damn trade deadline to come
I actually like him a lot in a 20-25 minute per game "starter" role. He is basically Aminu with the ability to knock down a three point shot. He has to be respected, at least - much like Babbitt. His numbers have taken a huge dip lately, as Shaw has really messed with the rotations, but when he was getting constant minutes early, he was rebounding at a high rate and shooting at a good rate as well. He doesn't get to the line at all, but to me, all we need on that first unit (if we bring Ryno and Reke off the bench) is a guy who can sit behind that 3-pt line that teams actually have to respect, and a guy who can rebound. Hamilton can do both.
I also think people like him because he will likely cost half what someone like Ariza will, and might even cost less than Aminu did this year. It is a value buy love, not a love based on him being some great player.
The Magic are taking/making calls on Afflalo and Nelson. What do you think it would take to pry Affalo away from them?
I very rarely try these much less 3 way trades but I think this would benefit all teams involved:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kerk5xm
(Add us sending a future 1st to Magic)
Pelicans: Get a great shooter in the starting lineup on a good contract. Nelson has a team option for next year, would essentially be a FA after this season and give up 8mil in cap space
Magic: Small drop off at the SG spot but still get a serviceable option there. Morrow gives them shooting at the 2 on a good deal. Rivers gives them potential (They could groom him to be a PG). Also they get 8mil in cap space with that expiring.
Bucks: They get out from Mayo's contract. Yes I know it's funny to use the phrase "get out of x's contract" when they are getting Gordon in return, but Mayo's deal lasts 1 year longer than Gordon's (many on here are convinced he will opt out his last year). Also Gordon has shown this year he can stay healthy, and I also think he has the ability to get back to semi star level on another team where he is the #1 guy taking 16 shots a game and averaging 20-4-4
Yep. This is exactly why I like him so much. If we don't make any big moves before the deadline, with our current cap issues, he would be perfect. His team didn't pick him up on his just over 1M/yr contract. We should be able to get him for 3M/yr or maybe less, have enough cap to sign another player, and then use the over cap MLE on someone.
Man. I keep reading Evans name mentioned as a player that we are trying to trade-
http://www.hoopsrumors.com/
I don't understand that for a couple of reasons. First, we just signed him. Second, we overpaid him to get him (to outprice the Kings and other teams), so it should be understood that his contract will be tough to unload. If true, it makes me wonder what Dell's plan is for this team. It seems as if he just wings it and if it doesn't work, move on to something else.

(Send either this years 2nd or a future 1st)
Another trade with about 0.0000001%
Reasons:
Pelicans- Afflalo is a perfect fit for this team plus a young SF who IMO is miles better than Miller. We also get cap space.
Pistons- They get the shooting they need and a serviceable guard. Also, Josh Smith can play PF.
Magic- They get a nice, young big body. Big Baby has also been injured alot in the past 3 years. They also get a replacement SF and some of the shooting back with Morrow
New Orleans--as noted in today's primer--is working hard to offload either Eric Gordon or Tyreke Evans, rival execs say.
