Pelicans to meet with Tyreke Evans (offer has been made)

If we miss out on Iggy then I think we should go after Evans OR Chandler.
This way we can keep Vasquez.

A team of:

Holiday/Vasquez
Gordon/Rivers
Evans or Chandler/Miller
Davis/Anderson
Lopez/Smith

Isn't too bad.

Hopefully, a change scenery will revert him back to his rookie season.

Tyreke is someone I wouldnt break the bank on, and if we do, I have lost a chunk of hope for Demps

I'm with BallSoHard...DellMonty just might be interested in doing something very different from most other teams in the NBA by having three starters who are all capable of handling the ball proficiently. It's very intriguing.

And I know the counter to this is hey, they can't ALL have the ball in their hands all the time when they all operate the best with the ball. However, from what I've heard of Holliday, he's really not like a Rondo/CP3 type that just pounds the ball and he's a very good spot up 3 point shooter. Gordon's had his moments where he's shown that he can hit spot up shots (although streaky). And Evans is a possibly-improving shooter.

But haven't we all seen as well as heard from hoop gurus such as Gerry V how much more versatile & effective an offense can be when you have multiple players on the court who can create their own shot and handle the ball effectively? A guy like Evans with the length & build of a SF but the skillset of a guard could be very deadly. And like others have pointed out, in the event of injury Evans becomes very valuable with his ability to play at the SG or PG position in a pinch.

I like Evans. I have a feeling ill hate the contract it will take for us to sign him.

Evans would a be a great signing . He can def play the 3. .. The guy has a 7ft wing span. To be able to generate scoring from 1-4 positions would be a huge jump from last year . Evans would be us in the top 5 in the west without a doubt

Tyreke shot .338 from 3 last season. On two attempts a game no less. He was pretty efficient last season. I wouldn't mind having him. If I had to pick between him and Gordon I'd go Gordon though.

Poison pills are only for second round picks coming off of contract.

Miami has James, D Wade, and Chalmers playing together and they can all handle the ball to set up the offense. This is a dream come true for me, if it happens. I'm a big Tyreke Evans fan and just the thought of someone with his capabilities on this team is just mouth watering IMO. 3 guys that can take you off the dribble and operate the pick & roll! Limitless possibilities on offense! Now if Monty can get Evans to buy into playing hard on the defensive end, watch out!

Both Jrue and Gordon can shoot very well. So can Anderson. Why does Evans have to shoot the lights out for us to want him? He is one of the most talented players out there and has all the tools to be a star. I would much rather get Evans at around 9/year than Iggy at 12-14.

Christ. I looked up Tyreke Evans working on his jumper and all I'm getting his hits from 2010.

Apparently he has the ideal athletic measurables to be a really solid defender. If he can buy in to defense and pick up the fundamental skills of it kinda like AR did last season, OH. FREAKING. MAN.

I love what we're doing so far this offseason.

Monty wants scoring, passing and ball movement, a lot at that and GV is gone.

How can you say imagination when the dude DOESN'T PLAY THE 3... Its obvious that we are in a "win now" stage, well if that's the case why risk a guy that we have to teach how to play D and how to shoot the ball, when the have multiple players who has that skill and all we need to do is enhance it... Instead of us teaching and developing Evens, we should focus more on Anthony I mean he is our franchise player..

There's a possibility they have plans to move Gordon, but won't unless they have a guaranteed replacement for him with similar talent. But who knows...

Because you can't teach two players something at the same time. This is nba 2k and we only have 3 training sessions per month; OR perhaps we want to sign someone that's roughly the same age as our core that can grow with the team.

I think Evans is more along the lines of developing the franchise than the win now signing Iggy would be.

well, I guess there is either a meeting taking place or there isn't.....

He's gonna be a sixth man or Gordon's replacement. Something big has to be in the works or there really is more to the Holiday than originally stated.

Maybe we sign Tyreke and just roll with what we have? It would be a versatile ball-movement 12-man rotation depth chart something like this:

PG- Holiday-Vasquez-Evans-Rivers-Roberts
SG- Gordon-Evans-Vasquez-Rivers-Roberts
SF- Evans-Vasquez-Miller
PF- Davis-Anderson-Smith-Amundson
C- Lopez-Davis-Smith-Amundson

Big is a pretty subjective term... and I really doubt anyone knows what we're going to offer.

Let's wait and see what it is.

I can't see Holiday, Gordon and Evans on the same court. There is only one ball to go around and those 3 are ball dominant (particularly Evans). I would not spend a huge amount of money on Evans.

I'm actually intrigued by the notion that we'd have options at the end of games. That's three top tier ball handlers...though Gordon was very shaky last year...

Reduced his shots last season to 12, upped his efficiency, improved to passable from 3.Tells me he's improving his shot selection. I assume a deal for Gordon is lined up.
