That's funny.
DUKES!!!
Man that Anthony Davis is a DUKE! DUKES OF DUNK!!!
Opening night, the Dukes of Dixieland play the national anthem.
So can the NBA flat out deny the colors that Benson wants to use or do they have to meet down the middle? Can the league suggest the colors that they would prefer?
The NBA approves things. I'm sure they can suggest things and detail their issues with whatever is veing denied.
I've been hoping for just black and gold. Pittsburgh has the same colors for Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins and it's worked there having teams with same colors. Red, blue, and gold just feels so lazy to me. Tooooo many have combinations of red, blue, and yellow/gold, that it reads too me too much of "we couldn't actually decide on anything, so we just threw them all together."
BigDub's concept of KNIGHTS

I'm not a fan of any these Bid Dub jerseys that I'm seeing.
There won't be an idea that universally is accepted. Someone will call Krewe stupid beyond belief, others, like me, think it's awesome and a perfect name for the most unique city in the USA. But whatever.
Split the difference. Could you grow to not care? Do you rather the design than some others you've seen? And so on, it'll balance out.
It should be the New Orleans Knights

Maybe there's a lesson to be learnt from Mr Gilmore...
No idea if that link works, I'm on my mobile. Anyway, you see where I'm going with it.
What happened to BigDub? Most of his concepts are missing and I haven't seen him post. did he get a job with the team? I think I remember reading something about him.
Red, Blue, Gold and Black are so common in the NBA- I really hope they don't end up duplicating other teams' colour schemes..
Red- Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Toronto, Portland (alt), Clippers, Miami (alt), Houston
Navy/Blue- Atlanta (alt), Philadelphia (alt), Clippers (alt), Memphis, Golden State, Indiana, Orlando, Charlotte, New York, Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Denver
Black- Miami, Chicago (alt), San Antonio, Sacramento (alt), Brooklyn, Portland, Toronto (alt), Minnesota (alt)
Gold/yellow- Lakers, Denver (alt), Indiana (alt), Cleveland (alt)
Gold/yellow & Blue- Indiana, Golden State, Denver
Navy/Blue & Red- Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, Detroit, Clippers
Black & Red- Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Portland
Red & Gold- Cleveland
There are 30 teams. Everything has kinda been done.
I mean they could pull like an Oregon Ducks and roll out in highlighter yellow, gray, and platinum pants people will still hate. (and perhaps rightly so)
No one will agree at first. At some point everyone will stop caring and accept it. As the world turns in the life of a fan. :D
There's a difference between gold hues. Saints and LSU both have gold, but you'll NEVER confuse the two on sight.
I imagine when Benson brings up gold, he wants actual metallic gold color, not just yellow like the Lakers.
Are people thinking something like this?

Or maybe..

Perhaps Barca-style?

You can also google big dub or bigdub81 and his stuff comes up, just can't click on it.
Isn't that Fartman's site? He he made us wallpapers and worked on 247, he's not BigDub atleast not to my knowledge
Nvm then, not sure what I'm thinking lol
I have some friends at the TP and they say the name Crusaders is being considered? Anyone else hear this?
Nope. Interesting.
Inspired by http://www.brothermartin.com/athletics/ I would imagine.
Benson went to one of the to one of the two predecessors of Brother Martin, too.
Seems kinda folksy, and now sure how it's more "New Orleans." It's not like it has to be "New Orleans;" it just has to be what Benson wants that the NBA can tolerate.
No you don't lol...

^^ That's terrible. Not to mention THAT is NOT navy blue.
what's the short-hand nickname for Crusaders? Saders?
Also I don't hate it, but at the same time... always thought it was an odd choice for Brother Martin, considering The Crusades aren't exactly something that Christians should be proud of.
Quote:
Amazingly, the Crusades have often been remembered in a romantic fashion, but perhaps nothing has deserved it less. Hardly a noble quest in foreign lands, the Crusades represented the worst in religion generally and in Christianity specifically.
Interesting point.
The New Orleans Swamp
Camouflage unis should settle that then. We can just steal from the Raptors.

I'm currently a student at Brother Martin, and the name Crusaders works very well with the school. Lots of puns. Our colors are Crimson and Gold (red) and it just looks great. Also, Benson just recently donated $10 million to us.
