Fwiw MM, I appreciate anything you give, even if it's just hinted at. Anything is more than what I had before. So thank you.
That makes no sense. Not revealing a source allows the information to come out and the source of that information to be protected. That is the reason people have sources; information gets out, but not the person who allows it to. I too enjoy HIS input, but I, again, ask...what is the point of constantly boasting about sources when literally nothing comes out of it? He is certainly informed, but he doesn't have sources for info and needs to stop acting like he does. Again, I'll be more than happy to change my stance on this if he would like to show me when he breaks anything of substance (**spoiler alert** - he doesn't).
No worries. I wasn't really stressed out and never pushed any issues about our coaching hire. As I've said multiple times I don't personally know enough and I trust Demps so I was fine.
I am curious about your source, but that's because I'd like to put a face to the words. Not because I doubt you. Lol.
I appreciate the fact that you have his back, but my question remains. What is the point of boasting about having sources and knowing things before they happen if he never divulges anything of substance before hand at all (attention or he just full of ****). If he does reveal things of substance I will retract my comments and tuck my tail, but I've asked to see that several times now...
This is a bit of a spin-off question, but one to help my basketball education. How do we, as fans, evaluate assistants? Forgive my ignorance, but what do we know about what Ayers done or done wrong for the team, versus what is Vinson, Hanson, or Gates? Serious question, not trolling.
Tyreke's shot definitely improved (in result, not really form) and I wouldn't mind that development continuing if he is in-fact behind it, but I would bet on an entirely new coaching staff. The philosophy coming in seems too different than the philosophy here last year.
You are ragging aimlessly because you are assuming something you have no idea about. How do you think you keep sources? By blasting everything they tell you on a message board for everyone to see? How stupid is that. I know for a fact multiple times I was given things from Mac that were about a week before it got leaked.
It does make some sense. If information the team wants to remain confidential starts coming out, they'll start looking for the leaks. I imagine the Pelicans organization may be small enough that it wouldn't be hard to find. Given how no one on any level had been able give much insight on things from the Pelicans side, it sounds like an organization that values it's confidentiality.
Of course, I do agree with you 'saintsinNO' that constantly saying that you have connections, but not breaking anything from those connections comes off a bit like "I know something you don't know" school yard stuff. Adam Shefter has tons of trusted connections inside organizations. Yet you see him sharing names and breaking stories, while continuing to protect his sources.
I might not be one of the chosen either, but at least in my group they don't require that I bath or wear pants. You can have your secret society, but keep your soap and pants to yourself.
I wont lie, I felt pretty badass when MM messaged me. Ahh good times.............
Again, that's not my point. I am not telling him to give up his sources, read what I'm saying. But there is no point to constantly, and PUBLICALLY, say that you have sources and know things others don't if you NEVER break anything of substance. Now outcomes this "I tell people privately" stuff, but, again, the question remains... if that is how you are going to handle the information, then why PUBLICALLY keep pounding your chest about having sources and knowing things ahead of time? Only two reasons I can think of: (1) attention seeking or (2) full of ****.
For the 10th time, anyone want to show me where he has broken anything of substance as publically as he loves to claim credit after news comes out...? I'm still waiting on that. Otherwise, no point in defending him because this is just fact.
I will not lie. It is HARD. Most assistants are not allowed to speak with media, so it is very hard to find out what they do and/or don't do. I would say 90% of my off air stuff with Amin was picking his brain about some of the guys on Gentry's list and his experiences with them. That's how I have done my research on them - talking to writers who have covered their teams and/or people I know who work(ed) with them.
The point is so jack***** like you don't get it. The way you are acting you have to be from Nola or really close to someone that works there. You have said the same thing about 50xs and are completely wrong on the matter. You can't just sit there and spew out everything you are told by someone in the organization that's how you get fired or p*** people like Dell off even if he doesn't know exactly who it is I'm sure he would get some pretty good ideas on who is leaking info.
You can read about how he wanted Kyle Korver to shoot LESS 3's when he coached him. That would be a place to start, and you can find other similar head scratching philosophies of his. Take that, and know he had Monty's ear above any other coach and you can see why we struggled in some areas.
