You keep talking about him as a SF. He will likely exclusively play the four.

Does that mean he'll be with the team for 2 years though? Gustavo Ayon had a 3 year deal with only the 1st year guaranteed and he was only with us for 6 months. His deal had something to do with us getting Anderson.
Also yeah, sounds like he's more of a stretch four...

The Pelicans could use another stretch four off the bench with Ryan Anderson out indefinitely due to a back injury, Babbitt could fill that role. The question is how much owner Tom Benson is willing to pay in salary (minimum deal, certainly) and buyout to get Babbitt.
In his three seasons in Portland Babbitt shot 36.7 percent from three and did particularly well matched against power forwards. However, his defense kept a series of coaches from trusting him much — he could score but got abused by bigger power forwards and isn’t quick enough on the perimeter to guard NBA threes.
I wouldn't mind the move at all. You churn the bottom of your roster in hopes of finding that less polished diamond who can shine. Not long ago Babbit was a top prospect, and maybe Del saw something in him like he has seen in recent bottom roster feeders Ajenca and Ayon. Worst comes to worse we are fitting a round peg (Lance Thomas) in a square hole (acting the part of an NBA player).
I would love to have McDermott, but I don't know how we are expected to land him given our current draft predicament. If Babbit is the same guy sign him.
I may be wrong but didn't some of us actually wanted Babbitt in the draft awhile back ? Or FA I maybe wrong but anywho Welcome dude, now to youtu...err I mean my sweet scouting program that I paid a ton of money for to see what he can do.
Babbitt might be one of those guys who is due a fair chance (or second chance if you feel his first opportunity was fair)...we have a need and a roster spot, so I like the signing.....
he was taken with the 16th overall pick, he's always been an excellent shooter and good rebounder, for league minimum the upside is huge and he has been playing stellar in russia.
i also think he lead the nba in 3pt shooting in 2011 - 2012
If he was so good he wouldn't be playing in russia of all places
When will he play does anyone know

He is now. Just wondering: does that mean Mr. Glass Evans will be out for a while?
