Keep him
just save me the time because i dont know which one u are referring to, just tell me what ur thinking.
Also im looking at ellis and rivers' rookie years and they are very similar, if rivers doesnt become our PG he can be a crawford or monta ellis for us off the bench like everyone keeps saying.
You didn't say title contending you said winning.
Who is everybody? Are they apart of our future core or not under contract pass 2014? Most if not all first deal players re-up with their 1st team because their rookie deals are so low. So who are we concerned about losing if we aren't winning next year besides Gordon?
Gordon for klay and rich Jeff works too.
Its fair to question keeping him due to his contract and injury history.
However, the second thing you said also has to be considered. Players who can be a plus everywhere, as Gordon is when healthy, are nearly as rare as unicorns in this league. Gordon can defend. Gordon can shoot. Gordon can handle the ball, isn't a selfish gunner and gets to the foul line at an elite rate.
Keeping him may not be the correct move, but those are the kinds of skill sets you take a chance on if you're inclined to roll the dice.
exactly, not only can he score in an awesome way he also is not a black hole or a chucker, he is a very willing passer. If gordon could stay healthy and didnt have past injury concerns there are not a lot of players in the league i would trade him for, only like 15.
Trust me, I hope he does get healthy and blows it up.
if Benson is really serious about building us a winning franchise he'll find a way to get rid of Eric Gordon....he has to be the most overrated player in hornets history, the dude hasn't led a single team to the play-offs or a winning record but somehow he's a future all-star smh
By his play, he'll probably be a multi-time All-Star if he can stay healthy. As stated above, big "IF", but has nothing to do with ability level.
His teams haven't gone to the playoffs because they've been extremely young or not that talented. A healthy Gordon wasn't dragging a team full of 19-23 year olds into the West playoffs or last year's roster of misfit toys.
Well considering next year will be the last time we really have to convince EJ not to force his way out. The following year he holds all the power with the opt out clause in his contract. All he has to do is say he'll opt out and that put us in a position of trade him or lose him for nothing after the year is up.
I wouldn't. Klay is sharpshooter who can't shoot or play defense. Richard Jefferson maybe an expiring contract but this trade just puts our team another year back in the rebuild.
