You can say the first part without needing to say the second, my man.

Yes, there are fair criticisms, but when you exaggerate every single thing without context, it just lumps those who have vaild points in with the crazies.
For instance - Fire him because he was cautious with AD for one game? So, let's fire Popovich too then, huh? Or point out one first year coach who is overperforming and use that as an argument for Monty's firing - What does one have to do with the other?
Again, stick to the strong arguments and also point out the good when it occurs. Then, maybe we can learn from this thread instead of laughing at it.
Exactly - I was one of the first wo point out the flaws, and now people think I am a Monty defender just because I don't nod my head every time people make insane claims about him and his faults. There are things to criticize, but people often make the mistake of thinking that more points = better argument. So untrue. The good philosophers, debaters, lawyers, etc. stick to a small number of very strong points. They don't just pile on weak arguments to make a stronger case.
Quality, not quantity people.
An 884-posts-long thread that was started three and a half months ago is plenty of proof about quantity and not quality, especially considering the usual amount of posts on this board.
Pointing out one 1st year coach overcoming strenuous circumstances in a tough division speaks more to how Monty just doesn't get it. One guy loses his big offseason acquisition and is winning due to great team play and out thinking his opponent. Monty has dealt with injuries on and off but has always had one or more constant guys and still we don't game plan accordingly. How many starting 5's have we gone through compared to the Suns might be a good question to ask here. But bringing up Hornaceck is a very valid point.
At the end of the day we are all just throwing out reasons why Monty should be let go, and eventually he will, and then we can all go back to reading threads about trades, or being given links to websites about trades (or maybe mid level marketing opportunities). These are all just opinions.
Your words not mine mike.
It would just be a crazy argument to make anywhere else. When evaluating a player, you don't say:
Cons - He is not Dwight Howard.
You would say his cons are X, Y, and Z.
Let's at least take the time to do the same for Monty in the OFFICIAL Fire Monty thread. The fact that he is "not Jeff Hornacek" is not a real criticism. There are plenty of good one's out there. Take the time to list those.
LOL. Bulls take the night off and some of you are sucking up to Monty like he is Jesus Christ.
True. Fire Monty and look for the next Jeff Hornaceck.
Regarding your questions above
So, should every coach with more talent than Hornacek but fewer wins be fired then? Or what about coaches with much more talent and only a few more wins?
You have to give me some names here, because outside of the Celtics (who have absolutely no talent) and The Bulls (who are rediscovering themselves) I don't see a coach on that list who won't pop up on a "Where are they Now?" Or "Who" list.
It's amazing Monty isn't doing an apology tour every time the Suns win.
I give up. I try to get intelligent discourse on this board, but sometimes you just gotta let message boards be message boards. I get that now.
Honestly, I stopped posting as frequently as I used too because of the same old fire Monty talk, it's annoying and not that accurate. He's not the greatest coach but he isn't the reason why we lose EVERY game we lose. Are some of you guys trolling? Really.
Let's start another trade thread, or maybe talk about statistics.
Man it's going to be a long offseason (football).
Stand up and get crunk.
THOM THIB DOESNT KNOW HOW TO MANAGE GAMEZ
I WISH THOM THIBZ KNEW HOZ TO STZ LINUPZ
BULLZ LOZT TO HORNTZ ZERG ATTCACK
So, if we lose it's monty's fault, obviously. If we win, it's the other team that decided not to come to play.
Seriously, i've met women with more logic than this (no offense HunnyB :hihi:)
