So would I. Some people think its a bad pairing (Noel and Davis) but I don't agree. They are not the same players. Noel should be a good rebounder and devasting shot blocker in the NBA.
It's a bad pairing because neither can create their own shot at this point in their careers. Neither have a lot of bulk to handle the bigger players in the league. I'm not completely against it because i think davis develops a pretty substantial offensive game but it's far from a perfect pairing at this point and time.

Sources told CBSSports.com that the 6-foot-8 Canadian forward, who averaged 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season, will make an official announcement sometime in the next week.
I think long-term it would be a successful pair but I would rather another position.
Well I originally wanted McLemore but watching him not try and create is a problem for me. I still want Porter or Smart for now and I think McLemore falls maybe even out of the top 10 unless he picks it up in the next couple of games. If we could somehow come out of the draft with Porter and Withey ill be more than happy. If McLemore falls too far, maybe trade some assets to get back into the draft and snatch him up. I think we could buy the Withey pick if its in the 20's.
Rivers
Gordon, McLemore
Porter
Davis, Anderson
Withey, Smith
Is a pretty solid building team. If we could manage to get Granger and Bledsoe this team would be scary.
Dude mclemore is going #1 I don't care if Kansas loses their next game and he goes 0-10 again...u can't be serious with that statement. He ain't falling out of the top 3 let alone the top 10....seriously...and only reason I say he can go to the 2-3 spot is it all depends on who gets the #1 pickin the draft
Sorry I responded when I read the ridiculous statement about mclemore falling out of top 10 that I didn't even get to the even sillier part...u think there is some kind of insane possibility we come out of this draft with mclemore, porter and withey :hihi::hihi:...lord I've read it all now
If you don't think the tournament will make and break some players you are the one that's crazy. How many GMs are thinking what I'm thinking, that in the biggest games of your young career and your really stinking it up. Same could be said of Smart. Don't bash me cause I'm hoping he falls and we can see past a bad few games. After the tournament and when we find out where we draft, a lot of **** will change so don't freak out on someone who dreams big.
When the year is over and teams like Indiana are trying to get under the cap who knows what teams will do to clear cap space. As for Bledsoe, I think Lopez will be in the mix once Paul resigns but like I said that's going to change after the season so don't bash a man for hoping to upgrade a team. Do I think we'll get 3 players in the draft no but I won't say it's impossible especially if we trade Gordon.
Perry Jones was supposed to go lottery around this time last year. While its a lil crazy to hope Mclemore falls out of the top ten, nothing is impossible so don't laugh at the guy.
Comparing jones 3 to mclemore is not even reasonable....are u aware of all the reasons jones 3 fell so far on draft night?? I'm assuming you are so u should know its not comparable. Mclemore has cemented his spot in the top 3 for sure in this weak draft class. A couple off nights in the tournament ain't changing that. Nobody's bashing anybody either. Laughing at some big dreams is not bashing. Sorry but to throw a scenario around where we get porter, mclemore and withey on draft night then also get Bledsoe and granger in the off season is laughable. Bashing?? No but call it what u will :hihi:
Ok give me a couple of days to do what GMs do all year.
Here is a name to think about. I mentioned him after last years draft in a thread I wrote about the big heavy draft we would be seeing this year.
Brandon Davies, pf, BYU. He probably wont be a 1st round pick. He will more than likely be a 2nd rounder. He is the kid that got kicked off of BYU's team before the NCAA tourney 2 years ago, but has since come back to the team, and has been a solid pf in the Mountain West (and country for that matter). He is a tough kid who likes to mix it up. At 6'9 235, many expect him to be an undersized center, but he is more of an Udonis Haslem big, in that he is tough, can jump, and his defense is nasty. For every 3 field goal attempts he takes he gets to the line, and once there he is hitting at 67%. He has a full stats line of 1.8 blocks and 1.4 stls, to go along with his 18 and 8.
Depending on how he does in the pre draft camps he could move up, but he is a San Antonio type pick (and I wouldn't doubt they would take him given the opportunity). He is a senior, so you know what your getting, but with NBA talent around him, it would only enhance his ability.
Look into him. I know we arent looking for bigs, but if we decide to move on from Lance, this could be an option.
If it came down to Noel or Zeller who would yall want?
Noel.
Noel.
Depends if you want offense or defense. Noel gives you defense while Zeller gives you offense.
Add me one more for Noel, by a million. His defensive upside is daunting compared to Zeller's offensive upside.
Not too familiar with ACL injuries, is it possible that Noel will lose his explosiveness or is something like that usually regained?
Anything is possible as players of any sport respond to ligament tears in completely different ways. Not everyone is an Adrian Peterson, but these days the technology is amazing and you can bet your PEL that any team who drafts Noel will be hand over foot to make sure that knee gets to 100%.
Thanks guys, good posts.
I am also really liking this Gary Harris kid, very athletic, good 3 point shooter, he just shows up to play every game, I like him a lot and think he will be a very good SG in the nba.
Shabazz is growing on me again for two simple reasons.
1) Roger Mason has played a significant amount of 3 for us this year so Monty clearly has no problem going a little bit smaller
2) UCLA players have made for great pro players lately even if they underachieve at UCLA (Holiday, Collison, Afflalo, Love, etc.)
UCLA has put out some quality people
This has to be the worst mock draft I have seen yet:

I've been saying this for a long time now. Monty's defensive system doesn't require a long SF. He doubles in the post and rotates his guards to the open man. That requires a quicker SF. It just so happens that Aminu is long AND quick, but a smaller SF can definitely thrive in this system. That's why I was so adamant about pushing for Harden last off season. Harden would have been a perfect SF here. It's the same reason why I was pushing for Oladipo at the 3 spot for us earlier in the year. I still think it's a good idea, but I'm a fan of smaller, quicker, more skilled SFs.
With regard to Noel vs Zeller, it's no contest IMO. Zeller is extremely limited by his lack of athleticism and length. He made no improvement from his freshman to sophomore year, and I think it only gets worse for him in the NBA. Noel has all the potential in the world as a defensive/rebounding center. He can also finish around the rim, which gives him great PnR potential. He is top-3 IMO.
I'm still not against drafting Len if we wind up in the 7-10 range. He had yet another very efficient game on 6-9 15pts 13rbs 5blks..he doesn't touch the ball much but when he does good things happen. If we r gonna get a big man in this draft Len should be the 1st option IMO..I think he would compliment Davis much better than Noel..I know I may be in the minority in this 1 but that's how I see it. Len can get the ball in the post with back to basket and be a threat to score. Opens things up for the offense when that is an option. I still see our needs of importance as
#1 sf
#2-3 pg or c depending on plans for rivers
I think Davis offers such offensive potential that a pairing with Noel could be absolutely sick. We'd be able to deal with his lack of scoring.
Zeller, even if I was to be a fan of his, has no fit here. We already have a too many bigs to get playing time to, and Zeller/Anderson are redundant players as offense-first bigs (even if they go about it differently). You'd never play them together.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

He actually looked intimidating to match his play. Now he just looks like an extra one one of those LMFAO videos.
Jason should have kept growing it mannnnnn
Yeah he should for sure keep that, he looked mean.
With this cool weather he's probably like "Dang, should have waited for the weekend."
