The question is not whether Jax fouled him. He did.

The question is whether you ever see that called in these circumstances. You don't. Every single end game play like that has tons of jostling under the basket that can be called as a foul if the refs feel like it. They never do, for obvious reasons.

For the refs to call that is beyond unusual. That's the issue.

Jazz fans in my mentions saying it was a foul. If that same call goes against you, you wouldn’t be happy. Don’t do this

They saw the small contact with .02 sec but missed Rudy holding Favors down on an offensive rebound

Sure but at the same time you have to play the game. You jostle for position in that situation. If you get scared to do that in case the refs call a foul (which they almost never do!!!) then you just don't play defense and he gets the tip in or lob anyway and you lose flat out.

Jax did the right thing; at least, he didn't do the wrong thing.

It isn't clear that there was contact. And to be honest, there doesn't seem to be clear contact on the replay. Doesn't look like they actually make contact. If Jazz get the call reversed they keep Gobert, and that's huge for them.
