He has no mental fortitude. He's just out there with the exact same mouth open expression all game every game.

Jesus did Jrue just throw that game, 2 huge turnovers in crunch time...... what was that!!?? This guy def ain't worth the money he makin wow...
Jrue's handles are incredibly suspect and inconsistent and that was just a prime example that unfortunately came at a time when the spotlight was on him.
******** ******** ********.....new coach , we need to go after cp3 and a shootee from.the jazz..this ******** pisses me off..we were still alive..i guarantee you that portland losses the rest of its games
Philly can have him. He's officially checked out for this season. We need someone with a dog mentality at PG.
With us having his bird rights, can we sign and trade him?
Jrue is a scorer..we need to keep him, but we neeeeed to also go after cp3 and a couple shooters..cp3 has a great bball iq
I think we can stop debating whether a team with pay him a max or even close to it.
That book was closed the minute we were forced to start Tim Frazier next to him. And Jrue's awful turnover problem and inability to command the floor was the reason for that. They wanted to get the ball out of his hands. Straight up.
He'll be lucky to sniff $20 mil.
I'm ok with Gentry 1 more year, but Demps has got to go. Waaayyy too many busts and dead money.
Chris Paul isn't coming back .. Y'all can forget about that. If he is trying to win a ring he will have way better options than to come here. We don't have the money and we aren't that appealing to lure him in
Haha
Jrue will get a max deal ..
We just have to pray that we get lucky. We need that top 3 pick or else... its so damn #pelslife to have to pay Jrue 25 million and then still have to basically use the MLE on a spot starter at PG to play alongside him...

If we lose Jrue we won't have a starting caliber NBA guard on our team.
I am one of the main pissed off fans around here and i want jrue to stay..we tend to look at the end of games, but forget how we even got to this..we need a playmaker and scorer..jrue is that guy, but we need more shooters and defenders..hill and frazier should not be starting. if steph curry becomes a free agent...Im offering him the max and telling boogie and ad to renegotiate their current deals to make it fit
WRONG!
We can trade our 2018 pick or use the 16M in cap space to get another starting level guard next to Jrue.
We then use the MLE and exceptions to re-sign Cunningham and another wing.
Stretch Asik.
We then go over the cap to re-sign Jrue.
There are options people it's not all doom and gloom.
The only issue with 'paying' Jrue is what will this do for future signings.
Get used to it people our core is AD, Cousins and Holiday.
If Asik wasn't such a waste of a signing then there wouldn't be a problem paying Jrue 25M compared to 20M.
Jrue wont get the max, we are banking on paying him somewhere around $20m per, if we give him $25m...well, theres your new Asik bonehead contract.
i think if the clippers get bounced in the 1st round, we may sign cp3 and carmelo to a 1 year deal....cp3,jrue,carmelo,ad,boogie
I though we only got the 16 million in space is if Jrues hold came off the books. But whatever, it doesn't matter to me as long as there are scenarios that we can at least explore that don't require us to assume that we have to sign Jrue.

Wait..... Hill shot 5-7 from 3. How long has this been going on?
Conley is putting up 20.5 points, 6.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.2 T/O and a PER of 23.
Jrue is at 15.6, 7.2, 1.6, 2.9 T/Os, and a PER of 17.30.
Conley's stat line is worth 20 mil. He's not part of their problems.
Like I said, Conley on this team tonight and this game is a W. Jrue is in a 3rd tier right now not in Conley's class.
Two words describe Jrue Holiday this season.................erratic and inconsistent. I would not bite the bullet and resign him.
But unlike that Conley situation, who is going to offer Jrue more than $25m? We have gone over this a number of times, but like the cap situation this bears repeating, only 2-3 teams can offer Jrue the max, Philly, the Suns, and the Nets. Thats it. He can go get paid by them, or he can take what we offer him. I would hope that we have built up goodwill with him considering the things the team has been through, and if not, thats just sad.
I'd "overpay" for what Conley brings. He is a legitimate 2nd tier point guard behind certified AS/HOF type players. And he's not far behind those type players. You can win a championship with him as the lead guard easily. You don't need as much "filler" role types behind or with him either.
Jrue on the other hand is nowhere close to that. At all. He is the filler role type.
I'm not sure why overpay is in quotations when he's the second highest paid player in the league this year (and has the most guaranteed money of any contract) and was the highest paid player in the league at the time he signed. It's safe to say he was overpaid. I agree, however, that the gap between him and Jrue is much more significant than people are letting on.
This conversation is mind blowing. We DONT want to pay him 25 mill to be the #1 ! So, how in the bejesus do we even entertain paying him even 20 mill to play a position he hasn't played since high school? If we are bringing him back to play the shooting #2- am I supposed to just toss 20 mill plus his way? Makes zero sense. 16 mill is TOP. If that.
It's obvious his pay status in the league will evaporate rather quickly. Different caps, different CBA on the horizon.
Back to Jrue, when Dell made the trade for him, I explain why that wasn't a "win now" move many times. He was 23 and his game was expected to grow once he got here and continue to ascend. That has not happened. Maybe it was all the summers he spent injured and could only rehab instead of work on his game.
You take a player like Cousins or Westbrook, and since that same age they have grown their games each year. Jrue on the other hand, is basically the same player he was in Philly all those years ago. I didn't expect that and I'm sure Dell didn't. He explicitly said we had to be patient and let them grow.
The only ray of hope I say is this. This might be the first summer in 3 or 4 years where he can concentrate on being a better point guard and basketball player. No injury to rehab and hopefully no personal issues either.
You just have to question whether he has the will to get better. I personally think not. Mental toughness and a will to be great is something you either have or you dont.
