My theory is... I'd rather take 20 shots from 40-90% range than take 20 shots from 20-35% range. The 3 has its place in the game but young players have basically stopped practicing closer shots. Take Babbitt. He can make a 25 footer but can't hit a 15 footer. That's crazy to me

Austin Rivers needs more minutes. Lately we've been much better with him on the court

Well its not like every long two is a bad shot. Though most of Kobe's shots this year have been just that haha.

Rivers, Reke, Jrue all with 5 dimes at half time. Starters minus AD all sitting at 1-4 FG and 0 FTA EACH haha christ almighty.

edit: the way the ball is moving around, and even AD trying to play hot potato seems like someone lit a fire under the players after the last performance for ball movement.

Except that isn't really accurate. League wide 3 pointers go in about 35% of the time while long twos go in roughly 37% of the time. And due to the velocity of three pointers they are offensive rebounded at a slightly higher clip then the long two over the long term - statistically speaking.

That doesnt mean a guy like Davis who is knocking down a ridiculous 58% of his catch and shoot mid range shots should stop taking them. It just means that having a guy that can step out a couple feet and knock down a 3 pointer has a lot more value then a guy that can only max out at the long two. And int terms of a game wide plan I would prefer my perimeter players taking an equally open 3 point shot then a long two. And work toward open 3 pointers instead of an open long two.

Westbrook is playing like Kobe.

Like I said...Rivers passing is way better than him trying to be the scorer. He can break down the defense...take advantage of it.

esp. the fact that 1 of the main reasons the Sonics moved there was OKC passed their "test" w/ the NO Hornets relocation after Katrina

I actually liked that shot. I wan to see if he has that range. That shot after the shot clock gives me a glimmer of hope.

I hate to say it but Evans needs to learn to flop. He needs to hang out with Harden in the offseason....or at least creep under the bleachers at the gym he works out at. That seems to be the ticket to get calls if you are an attacking guard. Flopping and ref-whining. He doesnt like to do either.

Eric Gordon does both, and he doesn't get a call either. Actually none of our guards gets the calls most other guards get for some reason.

God I hate the dribble long two from Evans. And before anyone defends it I was curious and looked, he is 10-36 on the season from 16ft-3 point line going into this game. Thats 27%.

If his shooting form has truly improved that means his shot IQ has dropped in proportion because that is actually lower then what he averaged his last year in Sac Town from long 2.

Yea a 5 point lead is a guaranteed win. C'mon. It's not like we dominated the first half, and it's not like OKC dominated the 3rd quarter. Down 5 on the road starting the 4th. I'll take it.

Giving up leads is a trademark of Monty Williams teams over the years. It could have been 20pts or more and we would have given up the lead in the 3rd or 4th quarter.
