The issue is that the two deals (Rivers being let out of his contract is one and Garnett for Jordan the other) appear contingent on each other (and in reality are). So, now they have to divorce each deal to give the illusion they are not contingent.

I just got an email from a friend that says the subject on Scott Van Pelt's podcast is that CP3 is saying that "He demands the Clips get Doc or else he won't resign". Can anybody confirm that?

So glad we don't have to deal with this crap anymore. I don't want him back.

That person further insisted the coach did not initiate the process that may yet send him to the Clippers for compensation, though that possibility seemed to be growing more distant last night. The Celtics have stated consistently that they want Rivers to remain with them and that he has been discussing with president of basketball operations Danny Ainge how best to transition the team with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in their latter years. He's the best PG in the league. He wants to win. He has been with two very poorly run franchises so he is trying to get his teams where they need to be for him to win. I don't understand why people hate the guy so much. He played his a** off here. Put yourself in his shoes, why would you not want to improve your team. People sound like nerds who got dumped by the prom queen. Get over it.

Also, "I don't want him back...?" People would take CP here in a heartbeat if he were considering it. I don't understand why any Pelicans' fan would not like the guy.

It's like holding a team hostage when these stars demand things. Glad we are out of that mess hopefully AD doesnt turn into that type.

He's demanding that his notoriously cheap and horrible owner start spending money to acquire better coaches and players. Sounds terrible. I know if I were a Clippers fan I'd really resent that "hostage" situation.

Ding Ding!! He's done this twice. Both times it was for the team to improve or he will have a problem. I'd do the same if I were a player. They are maxed out money-wise right now so they need to make moves. That's what he's pushing.

What Howard did is holding a team hostage, this is not.

I cant say Chris Paul is squeaky clean in all of this mess, but he has been forced to deal with two very miserly owners. Its hard to look at him and say i hate the guy for trying to make his team better; hes giving the Clippers every opportunity to keep him. The guy wants to see some progress.

This is the last time Chris Paul can make any demands and have leverage guys..

Geez, let's just get it over with. CP3...go play with Lebron so you can guarantee yourself a ring.

Chris Paul is all about Chris Paul and his loyalty level is a big fat ZERO. Ask him how he treated his former bodyguard and others who worked for him down here. The media gives this guy a pass as the humanitarian of the year but once the media is out of the room CP3 is the equivalent of a guy kicking dogs and old people because he doesn't care about anyone but himself. CP3 will never win a ring.

Sterling is a dope, CPME is well CPME. I'm glad we don't have to deal........wait we have Eric Gordon. Well I'm hoping the best for E.G. and if we re stuck with him then he better live up to the hype THIS SEASON coming up.

He agreed to go to Clippers, so he knew what type of owner he was going to.

It's hard to take anybody serious who says they want to win and want to play for the Clippers in the same breathe. Paul left because he likes LA had nothing to do with winning. Now his confidence may be so high that he feels he can win anywhere, but Sterling may be on of the worse owners in league history.

Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan were very promising assets at the time. I also believe he didnt want to screw the team by forcing us to trade him for scraps just so he could go to his number one destination. If he wants to win, he will leave Clipperland.

Nobody was going to trade for Paul without assurance that he wouldn't opt out.

Again the point is Chris can't be let off the hook for accepting to play on team with a awful owner. Then turn around and act befiddled when the owner isn't interested in winning.
