If we can somehow get A late 1st. I'd like to take a shot with tony mitchell from north Texas. This dude has all the potential in the world and u der the right coaching. He could fulfill it. We could use a sf like him to groom.

Im assuming Vasquez? Lol..Burke is much more athletic than Vasquez and if Vasquez would of performed at the combine in all the drills then we could compare their agility drills. He did not so we can't. Good advice by his agent. Just not comparable IMO. Burke is pretty much lining up to be in the cp3 lane as far as athleticism goes. Maybe just a tad below him but he had same time as him in the lane agility drill. Vasquez is more in the Tim Duncan lane. :hihi:

Close, but no cigar. Burke may lack elite speed and athleticism (which I assume most people would considering the "elite" label), but Vasquez lacks even adequate speed and athleticism

Yeah I know Vasquez is slow. The horse has been beaten to death. While it's nice to have speed and athleticism, I don't think it's the main staple a pg has to have in order to succeed at the NBA level. There are plenty of pg's that haven't had speed and athleticism and have done just fine in this league.

One question did you watch any Maryland games this year? If you haven't then you have no idea the level of wings he played with and the absolute absurdity of their offense and when he played lower competition whenever he got the ball in the post it was an immediate triple team and I'm not exaggerating.

It's a very funny thing. Before that block even I began to doubt his level of athlete. He's very controlled. He plays like a 10 veteran who has come off a surgery so he's not overexerting himself. Very methodical. I mean when he comes off the pick, he isn't trying to blow by you, he's trying to keep you on his hip and from recovering.

But Vasquez's issues aren't just speed and athleticism. He's also the beneficiary of artificial assists, is inefficient, and plays horrible defense.

Most people's issues with Vasquez aren't limited to "but he can't dunk like Westbrook"

All in all, Burke would be a huge upgrade for reasons other than the added athleticism.

Also doesn't help us in transition. He can, sometimes, throw the ball ahead. But he doesn't find Davis nearly as often as he should. Davis could have a smaller player on his hip in transition and Vasquez will just pull up and wait for the offense to set. Makes me cringe.

Yeah, Burke would be an upgrade. Vasquez has done some things that made me cringe many times but people here act like he's the worst in the world and while I know he's not the best, I just don't think he's the worst either.

Nobody has ever said he is the worst. We point out his weak points that hurt our team and some of you go overboard acting like we are bashing him for no warranted reason. I think we all appreciate his passion and fire he brings to the team. His leadership is excellent BUT he lacks what u need to run this team. When u have an athletic 4/5 like we have in Davis. We need points in transition and on fast breaks. His top speed is so friggin slow its painful to watch. Not just you in particular but a few on here like to say that too much. I've never read anyone on here claim Vasquez is the worst pg ever or in the league. That's over exaggerating the point being made that we need an upgrade at the pg position. To warrant that upgrade you need to expose the weak link. That's what is being done. He can be an elite backup pg Tho. IMO.

I think those 2 can be debated and I think it depends on which team is picking. If you wanna run and get out in transition then zeller is the pick. If you want to run a half court slow paced offense then Len is your pick. IMO. I think we want to get out in transitin more and run to get those easy buckets with Davis on the break. Zeller is the pick for me to do that with Davis. Pretty exciting to think about.

Agreed.

Zeller does have strength issues like Davis, but he could improve on that with NBA weight-training.

He's not a rim protector, but that's why we have Davis; I think Zeller is a beautiful complement to him, and I think it could end up being one of the most dynamic young frontcourts in the league.

Cody Zeller certainly is the safest pick. I wouldn't be too upset with taking him if Noel, McLemore, Oladipo, and Porter are off the board. I like the ways he can compliment Davis' game. We could also move Lopez for a quality role player on the wings as a result.

Rivers didn't show nearly enough last year to be counted on as our point guard. If they pass Burke based on Rivers then they're being foolish IMO.

Burke definitely displays his athleticism at times, but he plays so under control and with such great change of pace that he looks like he's moving slower than he is. You look at a guy like Westbrook, and he looks so fast, but he is always out of control. Burke is always under control, and that's a big reason why he had the best TO% in the NCAA last year.

Yep. Sounds just like another guard we used to have. He'd even say he wasn't the fastest guy in the league but just knew how to change pace. And yeah, most times Westbrook is out of control. Speaking of out of control, Raymond Felton has oftentimes looked like a chicken with his head cut off.

I wasn't ever arguing with you and I think all this is more of discussion than an argument. Everyone has diff opinions lol. I watched many Maryland games and I know all about Len. He played with horrible ball hogging guards. They didn't utilize him well at all. When he did get the ball he made the most of it. He has a back to the basket game that we lack. He is very solid on defense and is athletic for his size. I watched enough to also know his coach sat him for big spells cause of his conditioning and running the floor wore him out. Not sure what part of what I said u disagree with cause pretty much zeller is more athletic than Len sums it up. That's all I was really getting at. Which is the truth. Does it mean he will be the better player? No...but he is much faster and athletic than len tho.....btw I'd be more than happy with drafting Len. I was actually pushing for him earlier in the year and ppl on here were not digging it at all. They didn't watch him and only looked at numbers. He played with a horrible team and coach. He could of been much more dominant if given the chance.

My bad just was getting frustrated with all the back and forth with people. But Zeller killed it at the combine and it surprised me, but in straight line speed, Zeller may be faster but I feel Len actually is the better athlete. I still see Zeller having trouble finishing at the rim and dealing with the length of the NBA. Len should have no such problems.

No problem man :)..hey I'm right there with u. Len is still very young and could get much much better. He's a lot better than ppl give him credit for...that's for sure. That's why I said before. Everyone is predicting the same top 5-6 guys going 1-6 just in diff orders. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Len went top 5 to 1 of these teams.

That's who I have Orlando taking. Not cause I want Burke to fall to us either lol. There is a possibility porter falls to us if cavs take Noel which is a good possibility I think. If the wizards take Bennett over porter which I've read in quite a few places is a very realistic possibility also.

I'm firmly in the Len bandwagon. Athletic 7'1" center with good range that rebounds well. In my opion, he has the highest ceiling of anyone we will be picking from unless Oladipo, Mclemore or Noel falls.

Then there is the ridiculous bias. If Vasquez does something good, then it has to be qualified because no way Vasquez could ever do something good. Just no way. Now that is some hate. But whatever.
