They can get better production from cheap vets at this point. Maybe the Knicks will want his salary since all they are dumpster for bad players and contracts.

Jrue was coming off abdominal surgery and Ingram's health issue with the blood clots took him out all summer; he didn't even touch a basketball for months.
I'm not saying there can be no understanding for Lonzo, or no excuses. What I'm saying is that his situation was not unique, and yet he still performed worse than basically anyone else.
Highly doubt knicks do that they would just take a chance with hayes
Lonzo name has passed his value and dont think teams will fork up the salary he will try and get
Maybe, but worth looking into. I'm not saying they absolutely would do it, or that it would even be the best option to pursue once the FO actually knows what the general perception of Lonzo is like around the league, I'm just saying it would be really neat in a perfect world and is worth at least seriously considering as an avenue of investigation.
What cheap vet have the Pelicans EVER been able to bring in that has given production at all? John Salmons? Kendrick Perkins? Ian Clarke? Roger Mason?
We got like one good year out of Anthony Morrow and like half a year from Dante Cunningham.
We shouldn't overrate Ball but we also shouldn't underrate him.
And to your "lack of humility" point, he had a pretty nice quote stating that he let the team down and knows that some of this is his fault. I'm not really sure what more you expect out of an NBA player.
I would like to add that “people will want to come here to play with Zion and BI” isn’t going to be a factor. Nobody came here to play with CP3 & DX, and nobody came here to play with AD and Jrue. People aren’t suddenly going to come here on discount deals to come play with Zion and BI.
It doesn't matter if it's the bubble or not. This a glorified scrimmage in front of no crowds. There is no reason for Ball to have worst shooting performance in the bubble by a mile. You got TJ Warren avging 30 points a game. You telling me Ball being the only person to have a gross adverse affect on his shooting in the bubble is admissible?
You got your 4th year and that's all I give Ball to turn it around. Hopefully, he decides to do it before February.
And what about that 15% in the bubble is revisionism...I think it's fact. Though I I'm not in a position to make the claim, I can't imagine an extended stretch where any COMPETENT point guard would shoot 15%.
You seem to be the one proffering some sort of revisionist history. His numbers were basically the same as they were in LaLaLand.
I agree. Everyone is exhibiting recency bias. Has Ball continued his hot shooting that he had at the break, the same people (almost) would be singing his praises and saying Griffin needs to extend him ASAP. But he was atrocious for 6 games and now they want to dump him for a bag of peanuts and are bringing up backup type players to replace him. I have no problem with trading him as long as we are looking for a solid replacement and not some backup or scrub to take is place.
Nah, it depends on the stretch. I've said a bunch of times that I've been proven wrong by Ingram and that I've been happy to have been wrong. Cause his play improved in a consistent way; when he had a bad stretch, that was the exception, rather than when he was good.
But still, I'm glad my consistency has been recognised :hihi:
NBA insiders reportedly questioned the intensity of New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball during the team's seeding games at the Disney World complex in Orlando, Florida.
"People down in Orlando tell me Lonzo Ball looked like he'd checked out the whole time the Pels were there, and that they expect some significant roster adjustments in New Orleans before next season," David Aldridge of The Athletic reported Thursday.

I think it's about time we show these guys some empathy. Checked out from basketball doesn't necessarily mean he didn't give a sh**. None of us have any clue what's going on in their personal lives while they're stuck inside of a bubble. I know I wasn't mentally competent enough at 21 to handle this situation.
Some guys, like Lillard, are just made for this moment because they eat, sleep, breathe basketball.
He’s not an emotional guy and he rarely shows it in the court. I think people are reaching a bit here. That’s just his personality. He’s always been a body language guy. We’ve seen it all season. When things goes bad for the kid, it looks
like he’s disinterested but it’s just what he looks like when he’s struggling.
I would honestly roll with NAW he has more upside and is more aggressive. Lonzo is good as a backup.
Or maybe "insiders" may just be expressing their opinion based on what they perceive on the court. There is no way to know who the "insiders" or "people" are. Could just be a reporter or a staffer or could be a head coach or GM. No one knows how relevant the comment is.,
Lonzo's primary issues which he has had since his Lakers days have been psychological. He is not a leader--at all, and he lacks confidence. He attempts to hide it, but his body language is extremely telling. You can see it every time he is going up for a layup--his entire mindset shifts from attack mode to "Please god, don't let me screw this up." This is likely the result of an upbringing by an insane father. In short, he is not a "killer" like you can clearly see much of the time in players like Zion, BI, Hart, Redick and even guys like Hayes, Kenrich Williams, and Frank Jackson.
He will likely not ever develop into a strong leader; I do not see it in his personality, but confidence CAN be improved in one way... repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition... However, I don't know if he wants it badly enough to put the work in like BI to ever reach his potential. He doesn't have enough of that dog in him, which is probably my favorite thing about Zion, trying to throw it down on Giannis's face in their first meeting was as clear a message as any that he doesn't give a damn about being a rookie, he is here to f!@#$% kill everyone. The future of the team will be centered around Zion and BI.
