I hate say but you may be right. What you feel about him UNO

I like Burke... I just think that Monty loves himself some GV. Hell I like Austin at the one even more than GV, and we've even seen Roberts have solid games at the 1. I don't think Dell and Monty view the PG position as a need in this draft.
Even if we somehow sign or trade for another PG I don't think we'll draft one. JMO

We feel fortunate about the pick,'' Pelicans Coach Monty Williams said. "Obviously, everybody wants the No. 1 back to back, but we kind of knew that was going to be pretty hard for us. I'm glad we didn't take a severe drop. I feel like we can find a quality player with the sixth pick.''

"The No. 6 pick is not bad at all,'' Pelicans forward Jason Smith said. "We knew we had a chance to get the top pick, but it just didn't pan out that way this year.''

"We're still excited,'' Pelicans General Manager Dell Demps said. "We still think it's an opportunity. We're excited about an opportunity to bring in another young player in to add to our young core. We still think today for the Pelicans, our future is bright.
"Like Damian Lillard (this season's NBA Rookie of the Year), there have been quality players available at No. 6 in the past. We feel it's a great position to be in. We've been going through our process, studying these guys all year. Today, you start tracking these guys at 15, 16, 17 years old. So you know these guys a long time.''
If there is a year not to want the top pick, this is it. Is there really a whole lot of difference between the top 10 available players this year?
I have a feeling we go with a Center.
The more I think about it, the more I really don't care who we draft. There isn't anyone that I love that will be there at six, but I don't dislike anyone either.
If he were a dominant center in college, I might see taking the risk on him. However, he was not. That, coupled with an ankle injury already that may or may not be an issue, is too much of a risk at #6 IMO. If he could work out before the draft, it could relieve some of the concern, but he will not be able to.
How anyone who has watched both of them extensively in college can rank Len as a better prospect than Zeller is beyond me. Len is soft as Charmin.
I forgot how much monty like Rivers, we would trade EG or GV to draft a guard.
I wish Monty or Dell had a twitter account
People wanting the Pelicans to pick Burke are going to feel like the Saints fans who wanted Jarvis Jones. It's early on but I truly feel pick 6 is going to be Len or Bazz.
I don't agree with that. I think Muhammad has 20ppg potential. He might not do a lot of things well but his scoring is elite IMO. I don't care what the pundit says, you don't put up 18ppg in college as a freshmen and lack potential.
As for Len, he's a bit of a project. He, himself admitted that much. I think he has the tools and has shown the capacity to develop a post game. He would most definitely be picked to sit behind Lopez until his contract is up or if traded. Not sure if the staff wants to bring in a guy who doesn't contribute too much early on. But we'll see.
I don't know about that Haze... we got 3 PGs on the roster now that Monty likes (GV, AR and Roberts), but we have absolutely NO SF. If Burke and Bazz are both on the board... do you take another PG? or do you fill an immediate need with a guy that has the potential to score 20 ppg?
Remember the draft is before free agency, and there's no promise that we can trade GV. Unless hey just really don't like Bazz you have to take him there, or else you're in free agency over-paying for a SF because you need one.
Indeed. Muhammad got to the line too much to think he couldn't be a very good scorer in the NBA.
I understand all of that, but I think after 5 years that would look laughable. Bazz is a wildcard, Burke will be a solid starting PG at the very least. I'm just not a fan of drafting in ANY sport for need. There are more than a handful of FA SF's out there to pair with Aminu (or start in his place) this year if that's the concern. If the national player of the year falls in your lap, you draft him.
Is that Monty and Dell's thinking? Likely not and we'll draft for need. Barf.
I don't think Roberts even plays into the equation. GV can play both guard positions if needed. Rivers has not shown yet that he can be a PG. I would not pass on Burke with those 3 as the PG options. To me a top PG is more valuable than a top SF unless that SF is clearly head and shoulders above the PG. If Burke were gone, I would certainly consider Shabazz over Len. Len scares me as I do see him as a project and a project with an ankle injury that will not allow you to work him out.
If Burke isn't there I wonder if we can pull off a trade for Rondo with Boston for our 6th
Yeh, Rivers is going to get a chance to be our starting PG next year and picking Burke will throw a wrench in that plan.
Gobert!
