If we can land McClemore or Oladipo in this draft(preferably Oladipo, I just love his attitude and work ethic I think he will be the best player in this draft). But anyways what do you guys think about a Gordon for Noah trade? Noah would bring a nastiness to this team and be perfect next to Davis. Gordon will give Chicago the best backcourt in the league and help Rose with scoring.

if we landed mclemore i would be fine with him and rivers in the backcourt because they compliment each other, if we landed oladipo then we would have to trade gordon for a SF who could hit the 3 consistently because i dont think rivers or oladipo could, people would just crowd the paint, we would have to try and get parsons or someone like wilson chandler and also sign budinger

We can sign Budinger, but what I was asking is would you trade Gordon for Noah? Would Chicago take Noah for Gordon? Why or why not?

i would only do it if we drafted mclemore, then yes i would, and yes the bulls would also do it i think, they have already tried to move noah and said they are rebuilding.

I know I'll be on an island here (again) but , hypothetically, if the Pelicans were to be in a position to draft McClemore they would need to be in the 1st or 2nd slot. If this were the case my feeling is that the pick would be Smart, and if we were in the 2nd slot and Smart was off the board the pick would likely be Porter. I can't see investing a Max contract into a guy with plans to trade him in a year or two. With Gordons contract and his history, even if hypothetically, he becomes 100% healthy and a happy 20/4 producer teams will still be leary and wont be beating down the door for a grand trade.

Now, hypothetically, if Gordon manages to regain his health (or "gain" for that matter), playing all games and is producing 20/4 and "presumabaly" happy, (I mean he'd have to be happy to be playing all games and producing right) then why trade him at all? Won't you have your scoring threat at SG in Gordon?

If Gordon had come out after the All-Star Break and loaded the Hornets on to his back, his trade value would be high this offseason. As things stand now though, I think you'd basically be looking at a salary dump and I don't think Demps is going to do that and i don't think he should do that. Gordon has one last chance here. If he gets in top condition this offseason, comes out next year and shows the kind of game he had with the Clippers, then you'll be able to move him and his ginormous salary for some good pieces at the trading deadline next year--or, assuming he has attitude replacement surgery, you could actually keep him as the old EJ was a top-five scoring guard and legit closer, two things that are very hard to find. Either way, I don't see him being moved for any of the packages you put forward. No one wants to trade for a cap-killing, injury prone two guard who disappears down the stretch and, at least for the moment, that's what we've got.

^ = an annual lottery team. Rivers is not a starting caliber PG. Oladipo is a rookie that will have to produce right away. There will be zero defense at the SF spot and Lopez will be Lopez. This team is in dire need of a PG. If the Hornets get a stud PG, we can groom a SF from the draft or get a shooting SF from free agency. Plus with the line up above, who's the scorer? Is this line up dependent upon Oladipo being a stud scorer in the pros? The SF's listed are shooters but rarely create their own shots. Lastly, there is only 1 real rebounder in that starting lineup.

I completely agree with this trade for many reasons. 1 of the many is because its an actual REALISTIC trade, I haven't seen many of these on this site in a while. Even though I rather keep Gordon than trade him for anything but if it comes down to it and we have to then this is one I'll accept. He is aging yes, evry player does, and every team needs an veteran player like Danny. Also let's not under-rate his skills, he's deadly from the 3, showed vs the Heat that he can defend, great post game for a SF, just an all around underrated player IMO. He can do a little of it all, and may be cheap when his contract ends so I wouldn't be surprised to see him be an Pelican until he can't ball anymore. And this comes from the guy with the A.I. Avi.

No, Gordon and Granger is not. Gordon for George is, this is more realistic approach New Orleans would take if they wanted to ship Gordon, which won't happen.

Not really IMO. George has elevated his value well beyond gordons. This subject is played out too.

I've said this a thousand times, if Gordon gets traded nobody will be happy with what we get in return. Even the guys who are dead set on shipping him out of here would start complaining.

Technically it's only 2 more years before he can opt out anyway. We need next year to see if he can be good anyway.

I agree. The beauty of it though is when ad falls off his rookie deal. Gordon falls off of that max contract even if he doesn't opt out. So if he doesn't live up to this deal, it will only cost the horned a few years in ads development years anyway.

Hate him for his injuries but the attitude thing is overplayed. He was fighting for a max contract with turrible PR skills (pretty turrible) but i dont see how that equates to bad attitude. He only missed one true game since the knee problems (i dont count the b2b because management wont let him play). Just because hes a chill dude he has a bad attitude?!?! Its all this crappy speculation that bothers me. I think hes injury prone but o wait he wants to take the next flight out of here because Sam Amick said so. Im sorry if im being irrational but this guy is getting too much hate.

What we saw from gordon last night was just the tip of the iceberg, he is finally being aggresive again, if he continues, has a full offseason and is back to his former self he is going absolutely no where.

If the dude sucks next season ill eat my words but i expect a pretty big year from him next year. He needs to keep himself in shape and tighten up his skillset (handles, passing, shooting). I think fatigue played a big part but excluding this season he shot 45% from the field which isnt bad for a guy who takes alot of threes and gets missed calls more often than one would like.
