The Hornets can shop Gordon, but we already saw how highly they think of him. They wanted Klay Thompson back for him. That guy is no slouch, he is probably very highly thought of in the league. If that's the type of value they want to get back for Gordon, then I'd say it's unlikely they trade him. And as I've said all along, with 25 games left if Gordon plays in 20 of those and say averages 18 ppg on 45% shooting I think the Hornets would really have a tough time dealing him. Since he's already ours, I think the team could somewhat buy in to that while the rest of the league would still see him as a injury prone guy on a big contract.

As for the 30% part, I don't think Dell is building this team on what may or may not happen.

I want Otto Porter too. Just in case, he is not there when we pick, I got my eye on Glenn Robinson III.
He is compared to Iggy and is good all round player. Can score from anywhere and is very athletic.
He can be a good complement to our team.
I would like us to be better in transition next season.

That's a pretty ambiguous statement. It has no meaning or maybe i'm not understanding what you mean here.

Also, I think i've stated my position concerning Gordon clearly here before (which i don't expect you to remember lol), but I thought we shouldnt trade him right now because his value is at an all time low less another substantial injury. I think by ASG next year if he's still averging 18 ppg with no reoccuring injuries we would be able to deal him, and the only question is if we want to deal him then.My main point is i wouldn't not draft someone because of Gordon.

What I mean is I doubt Dell is sitting in his office thinking to himself "Eric will probably miss 30 games next season so we're going to build this team without him in mind." What I'd bet he is thinking is "I'm building this team around Eric and Anthony so please let him stay healthy."

What I'm saying is I feel Dell should build this team under the assumption that Gordon will play in every game for the Pelicans next season and beyond until the day he is no longer with the team.

I believe he's saying i'm in the beginning stages of rebuilding our team that's rebuilding around Anthony Davis. We hope our gamble with Gordon pays off. I think the fact they were listening to offers for EG kind of disproves they're set on building around AD AND EG.

I don't think we should build on the assumption that EG will play 82 games because it has never happened in his career.

Obviously neither of us know what's he's really thinking. Just my opinion.

I've never been one to think listening to offers really means anything. Why wouldn't you listen to offers for Gordon? In my opinion Anthony Davis is the only untouchable player on this team. Unless the Hornets were the team initiating the calls, which I don't believe to be the case, I don't think it means much.

There's just never been any indication to that being the case, that I know of. Any article about trading Gordon always had the word "listening" in it. The Hornets are "listening" to offers for Gordon, but not "shopping" or "looking" for offers. That sort of thing. Maybe it's just word play.

Yeah on the same token i didn't hear Klay was being shopped either. I'm not sure what direction we're going right now, and that's a good thing in one respect. If we really do want to trade Gordon, if you let the world know you're dealing him he loses more value.

To me what's good about Porter is he can shoot. Aminu would be a good backup but he is killing us as a starter because he can't buy a bucket(great def and rebounding). Dallas had Collison on him for a little while which is horrible. I'm definitely leaning toward Porter just cause its such a need position. I would love next year having Poter start and Aminu coming off the Bench. If we could trade some players to get back high in the draft so we can come out with a combination of Smart and Porter(I'm sure McLemore would be long gone) that would be epic.

He does have alot of the good traits Aminu has, but athleticism is one of them. He is a very athletic player so I don't know who told you he wasn't. I've watched him alot this year and I think he would start over Aminu by about halfway through the season. But who knows, his game seems well rounded so he might could start from day one. Otto Porter and "Chief" would be a great young SF duo if you ask me. Both great rebounders, defenders, and high energy guys. One just has a good offensive game that's why I assume he would be an upgrade and start over Aminu. But with all the progress Aminu has made this year who knows, he might be our starting SF for the long term. His mid-range jumper has definitely improved this season. If he could stretch it out to the three point line and get consistant from there he would be a top 5 SF in the league. Although, as impressed as I am with his drastic improvement this season, i'm not holding my breath for his 3 pointer to come around.

You better be ready to offer up Vasquez for a chance to get another early first to get Smart. We'd probably need two top 7 picks to get those two.

We got him for a second rounder. What has he done with us to improve his stock? Nothing. Forget about him being the "sweetner" in any deal.

I can see GV getting us a late first rounder, though.

I was just using henry as an example, however GV and lopez would get u a guaranteed top 10 pick, then u could draft porter or shabazz and alex len or burke and sign someone like pekovic.

I bet IF an offer would have come in for AD they would have listened. They would have laughed, but they would have listened. I just find it strange that the team made it so public that they were listening to offers. Usually you listen but do it behind closed doors, on the down low.

I think its funny when some of us here say "Vasquez is too slow the be a full time #1 PG and he can't defend the top PG's, but he's overachieving and his trade value is high so we should strike a deal whill the iron is hot for him." Like professional scouting departments would be unable to come to the same conculsion on GV and would blindly think wow this guys great, lets do whatever we have to to get him in here. With all the media trade speculation out there the last two or three weeks I didn't hear Vasquezs' name mentinoed once, And there was some pretty wild speculation. I even heard Kobe's name thrown around for a minute.
