If we get Klay from Golden State, we will probably have to eat salary.... I also think the Mayo trade would work for the Hornets in the long term.
Harrison Barnes is a rising star asked to be a role player right now. he could be more of a dynamic player than Klay. Very interesting.
right, their team is full of injury riddled players so wouldn't they want to trade for a player who ISN'T injury riddled, and not currently around 80%(I guess) to win now, and instead trade for a player who actually plays the position they are lacking in? if they wanted to move klay to sf they could do that and start jjack or brandon rush or something at the 2, or they could just have barnes come off the bench behind richard jefferson, idk but it seems like trading a future great, or at least good player so that they have more of a problem at the 3(only having one real sf on their roster) and so they can start 3 guards is not an answer for winning now. And for us? Gordon is supposed to be our cornerstone and is the only true scorer who is (supposed)to be able to consistently create his own shot and others, and we give him up for Barnes and a mid-late first? that isn't enough either, we address one need at sf and create another at sg
I would be just fine with Mayo, we keep our 1st round pick, have a healthy SG, save salary in order to sign pekovic and budinger, no arguments here
I'd take back Biendrins salary for Barnes+1st rounder.
mayo's expiring... and we have no guarantee that we keep Mayo either.
Rockets fan here would yall be interested in this deal?
Houston: Dwight Howard, Aminu
Lakers: Eric Gordon, Omer Asik and Toney Douglas
Hornets: Chander Parsons, Terrence Jones, Earl Clark, Cole Aldrich and some draft picks?
I'm an idiot for disagreeing with your ridiculous trade idea? Does Gordon sitting on their bench becasue he cant even play back to backs or more than what, 27mins a game? and having no cap space and one sf equate to them being contenders? And it has been repeatedly reported that we would only trade Gordon for tremendous value, which we aren't getting in your trade, it is unrealistic and I'm the idiot
Sign me up for any deal bringing Barnes/Thompson here w/ a draft pick.
Then we can end the draft pick debate, and make a serious run at McLemore since we now have a hole at the SG spot.
Biendris contract is only on the books for one more season and we'd have a lot of money to throw around as Gordon's MAX deal is off our books. If we can pull the trigger on something like this, it wouldn't be bad at all.
Possibly still make our run at Jennings in a Lin type poisoned pill type offer that MIL couldn't afford.
I live in Houston and go to a bunch of the games. Moving Asik is not essential. I think they are better served going after Dwight and just having Asik play the four. Now there will be defense. Aminu is someone who I think the Rockets would be interested in. Him and maybe Lopez I really doubt they have interest in Gordon. The same goes with the Lakers. The Lakers would rather Lin if they have future plans on keeping D'Antoni. As far as the Hornets are concerned. Parsons is a nice player for his salary and the others are some decent prospects, but this is clearly overstating Parsons as a player.
Omg! All of this trade talk, my old heart of 21 years can't take the excitement! *Faints at work while people stare*
Why does everyone overrate other teams players and underrate our players? I don't get it...
Klay Thompson is a shooter who can't shoot. The guy is under 42% from the field this year, and his defense is totally average. He had the best game of his career against us, and that's all that people remember. Harrison Barnes is an unproven rookie who is having a below average year with regard to other starting SFs.
Check out their horrible win shares on a winning team (0.066 and 0.070):

And yeah, Gordon is having a down year, which is understandable considering he's playing inured, hasn't played basketball in a year in a half, and is playing with a whole new team.
I agree that people on this board overrates players on other teams....It seems as though people pick their favorites and continuously toss out irrelevant trade ideas that never come to fruition for the sake of conversation...it is a message board so I get it. But I don't think our players are underrated at all. GV is playing the best he ever has and nobody knows if this will continue throughout his career, its simply too early to tell. We already knew what we were getting from Anderson and he has lived up to expectations. Aminu was always inconsistent and I personally never felt like he would improve much and he really hasnt. He just has these random "Flash" games. The only player on the roster that I feel is underrated is Lopez. Everyone else outside of the rookies and Anderson is pretty mediocre as we don't know what's going on with Gordon.
