15 and 23 with a 7 game losing streak.

All Portland did was add Terry Stotts to their team and they're 30 and 9 with the 2nd best record in the Western Conference and all they got is Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge and a bunch of role players with no bench. But they're so much better than us when we got more talent than them?

Not sure how this has anything to do with Monty's strengths or weaknesses. Don't misunderstand. Monty is outta here, or he needs to be. His run is up. But that doesn't mean everything he did is invalidated.

Monty Williams coaching profession is best served as an a assistant coach. I'm not disputing that, but I will dispute his results as a head coach which is ultimately judged on wins and losses, and he's not getting it done here plain and simple.

IMO... alot of that is on the players. You can teach until you're exhausted, but once the players are on the court you have to trust that what you teach will be applied. The in-game adjustments go both ways as well... sometimes as a coach you just don't have an answer.

I don't think he has a "rotation" yet because everybody is hurt, and the few games he had "everyone" we could score like nobody's business, but then we also give it up on the defensive end.

I mean the guy can't win.

That's debatable. We have more talent yet we can't stay healthy. What good is having all that talent when they're not on the court? And their "role players" are better at "playing their roles" than we are.

Yeah, not really. It took 7 years in the NBA and an extra season in college for their best player to get to this level of great. They also have a guy in Batum who took 6 years in the league to mature. The core has been playing together for something like 5 years outside of Lillard. They struck gold on a draft pick. I wouldn't call all of that just adding Stots.

This is exactly right. Our role players are just as talented but are forced to play out of position most of the time and that's mostly because of injurys, but even when we were healthy our rotations never make much sense to me. monty is stubborn

Our 3rd quarter stuggles are a direct result of monty being outcoached night in, night out. His defensive scheme has obviously not worked all year and yet we still play the same rotation zone-man shell defense, it rains 3s on our slow rotating d. Offensively he is probably the only coach in the nba who runs plays for the mid range j! I loved monty but geez, enough is enough.

Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis are still playing and we lost SEVEN STRAIGHT GAMES. I'm not trying to hear all these fricken excuses bruh. Monty Williams is not getting it done as the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans. He DOES NOT DESERVE a fifth year to be the head coach of this basketball program going forward. He had his chance now it's time for somebody else to get a chance.

All the Oklahoma City got is Kevin Durant and a bunch of role players and they still better than us. What's the point of Monty Williams as this team's head coach?

Oh yes, the example where KD took 3 years to post a winning record (2 20 win seasons) with a healthy team and we're only in year two of Davis? Not only that but struck gold on 4 straight high picks. I'm not saying Monty is helping by any means, but what I am saying is it takes years to accumulate talent, luck to avoid injuries and time for that talent to be acclimated to the NBA and the team mesh. OKC didn't really take a leap until they traded for an experienced champion in Perkins. And although he wasn't one of the most talented players on the team, he knew what it took. We have non of that on this team either.

Why should i? :hihi: your point was beyond silliness, but honestly i think monty's time is up, although unlike others i think there's about 5% chance he gets dumped before yet another year and so, you gotta live with what you have. No amount of whining, ranting and whatever else is going to make monty an unemployed coach. But i know people really love to whine and rant all the time, your argument was simply...well, silly, too much so that i couldn't help but write something as much silly as that.

Right.. but unfortunately (for you) you don't make that decision.

Agree with Droopy Dawg and BSH here. None of them are saying Monty is the best coach ever, and I think we all have our doubts and questions with him. But when perspective is added into the situation (ungodly injuries, least experienced team in NBA by games played, etc), it's clear that the problem and solution is not as simple as saying fire the coach right this instant and all our troubles will be over.

I try not to be knee-jerk knowing this situation. Unfortunately for the fire Monty crowd, he may get another year by default just because it's unfair to evaluate him having never had a 100% roster all season.

If he's not fired after the season than I guarantee you there will be no one in that arena to cheer on the Pelicans next season.

Up to 8 now. I really don't like how he uses those talents.

Just get a new coach at least there would be more people in Arena.

I think there will be. People are tired of hearing injuries and a young team as an excuse. If you look at Facebook and other social media, people are on to his inability to manage a game. Lack of halftime adjustments and solid rotations are making it hard to watch. If we are going to tank, fine, but give the younger guys some minutes. Quit giving minutes to guys like Steamer, who are most not likely going to be on the team next year.
