Set us back however many years an oft injured max contract player sets you forward.
Oladipo has no range....oh wait.
Oladipo with the huge 3!
Has Gordon (in his entire career) ever played 50% of the season? I hope we aren't foolish enough to build around him.
OLADIPO IS A BEAST.
Just won it for Indy with a 3!!
3 of his 5 NBA seasons.

I don't think there's any other legit option.
If Gordon is healthy, he's what the team needs to compete for a championship in a few years. Unfortunately, that's a big if. If the team gets rid of him, they're going to be looking to bring in someone that's the same as what he can do when he's healthy. There just aren't that many players out there, let alone available, to just give Gordon away.
The draft is often a crap shoot beyond the top few picks. Personally, I think unless the Hornets either a) Get the #1 pick to draft McLemore, or b) Find some team out there willing to give a very good player for Gordon (which won't happen), then the best option is to stick with Gordon and hope for the best.
I like that kid. He stayed on Wyatt for the end of the game for sure and he got nothing after that. Idk though.
He has proven to be Michael Redd.
Solid #2 but not a guy you can count on to lead a team. He has been good for 56 games a year (on average) and rock solid for about 3/4 of those.
You can't compare Redd to Gordon.
Exactly there arent that many SG better than Gordon and a couple of the great ones are beginning to decline. I swear at this point people look for every little thing to criticize him (remember when he bruised his wrist and missed one game?). I swear after that this board had a nuclear meltdown; everybody wanted to ship him for Klay Thompson and Biedrins... Ewww. Dont get me wrong; he deserves some flak for not staying in shape and not taking care of his knee in the offseason. It just seems like people are looking for every possible reason to hate him.
Who said GV is elite? I said he was top 20 for his position.
Gordon is off injured, and if he is lucky enough to have a Redd like career we will be in the black on that CP3 trade.
I am not one for advanced stats and all but some of you guys are.
For all this talk of Gordon being on the cusp of being elite, his PER sure doesnt tell that story.

When that young proven talent has serious problems staying healthy you do. Not to mention we only have two more guaranteed years with Gordon which really is one if he indeed rather play somewhere else.
Once again Gordon has yet to prove he can be the type of player that can carry the scoring load for a playoff caliber team.
His last healthy season 2010-2011 (how pathetic does that sound. We have to reach back 2 seasons for a healthy season.) he had the 6th best PER among sg's.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holli...n/sg/year/2011
He was bettered by Kevin Martin and Lou Williams. Confidence not instilled in this elite at talk.
How many years has he been a Hornet? How many games has he played? Really it doesn't take much to dislike the guy with all the nonsense this offseason(for the record that didn't bother me), but what matter are the facts. He gets injured all the time and has yet to prove he has the talent and/or leadership skills to get a team even in contention for the playoffs.
That can be said of many very good players man. There are plenty of very talented players who get big deals and have never sniffed the playoffs. The roster itself is just not there yet. You dont trade Gordon for trash when we are not a free agent destination to begin with. We dont need capspace, and if we did gordons contract runs out at the same time as our big name players anyway.
You skip over the biggest issue with Gordon in this comment his health issues.
Who said we trade him for trash? Of course if the best deal you can get for him is a mid to late draft pick or just warm bodies to match contract you don't do that. However if we can get something like PHX unprotected first or a big like Enes Kanter/Derrick Favors just for example that's most certainly isn't trash.
Do you call everyone you don't agree with trolls? How's life working out for you?
At any rate, agree to disagree. I don't know many title teams built around "Jaguars" but maybe you do.
His value is debatable, but he was just offered a max deal coming off a season where he only played 9 games. There are a bunch of bad GM's and maybe just as many desperate ones. I see no reason why PHX wouldn't still be interested or like I mentioned maybe a team like Utah that's on the verge of the playoffs but lack a scorer like Gordon wouldn't be willing to deal.
I guess it takes one to know one.
Jaguar= nice car, but always in the shop. The proof that he isn't is on you not me. If you can, you can. If you can't he is. There is no shame in acknowledging the truth.
Ac tally it's not..since returning how many games has he missed?? B2b doesn't count cause it's not his decision and he very well could play. He's also still only 24 so still just starting to reach his prime. Still has 4-5 years of his prime to go. What team has Gordon been apart of that the roster was built for the playoffs?? None is the answer. Can't do it by yourself. Lebron with Cleveland is as far as we need to go for that one. Gordon's not lebron is my point n he couldn't even carry a team all the way. Let this team get a competent pg that doesn't run like he has concrete in his shoes and a sf that's capable of scoring without an alley oop and this team will be playoff bound. With him staying healthy like he has since coming back and getting a full off season with the team HEALTHY will tell the story on Gordon for years to come. Next year is absolutely do or die for this kid. But you don't trade him for sh.its n giggles just to do so. He has more potential than anyone in this draft and more proven ability. End of story.
I've been on this board long enough to see all the substantial posters have left and been replaced with guys like you. We used to get into disagreements and they were great because the other guys were never demeaning. Now, when you don't agree with somebody you get called a troll.
And I'm done.
GV isn't a top 20 PG either.
Apparently you are right.

But look at the guys listed ahead and below him. Advanced stats are crazy.
Of course there's the other side of that coin. The longer we wait the closer he becomes to being a FA which also lower his value. I think most GM's are aware of EJ's potential when healthy. The question becomes do they think he can remain healthy enough to justify the max deal and/or to give them the needed push.
He's not 100% and it's evident, but he's healthy enough to play. So I agree we don't need to rush trading him however moving him while he's healthy IMO gives us the most trade value. Another injury IMO kills any chance for us to get quality for him if he's not going to be here long term.
I really wonder if he is truly stumped as to why ppl call him a troll.??? Some of the things he has said and claims made on the whole gv argument is just the tip of the iceberg. I see nobody else on this board that makes the outrageous And crazy proclamations this guy does. Yet he wonders why he gets associated with the word troll.
