2 things I would like to say... 1- (I remember someone stating this early) that davis just made a great play on the fake hand off. I dont think it was just a great player making a great play. I think it was a great player making the right READ. See in today's NBA offense certain sets have certain reads that a player can make which gives the players on the floor different options. Monty has often stated that it is hard installing all levels and reads of his offense because of the heavy turnover the roster has from year to year. Teams like SA who had their core forever have the advantage in these situations (where its easier for the vets to let the new comers know where to be) Which also leads to supporting why both Monty and Dell like players with high Basketball IQ to make the right decisions once the learn the offense. Maybe monty is guilty of having a offense that is too difficult for some to digest. 2- Monty is not to blame for everything, we have definite holes in this roster and he does have his fair share of mistakes. But i have accustomed to see that there are waaaay more comments on when we lose picking out every little thing that could or should have been done (with using hindsight) Now with the no call timeout. If anyone truly remembers Pops is one of the few coaches that forces his guys to play through slumps and not calling timeouts at the end of games. Rick C. does it, Phil did it, Pops does it. This is not uncommon. pops did it often when Tony Parker was younger. Forcing them to grow up. This one just so happened to end with Tyreke taking an il-advised shot. Im pretty sure if Monty wouldve known that would happened (using the hindsight like we are able to) he wouldve called a TO. We need a floor general personality that makes sure ppl are in place and the right play is ran. Need more player to player accountability. Say what you want about him but when CP3 and David West left, I think that alot of that left with them.
