2013 and 2014 had a couple trades but the lowest picks were 9, 11, & 12. I didn't feel like going any further back to see if a 1-5 got traded. One trade was philly to Orlando for Alfred Payton. Philly got Saric and another pick.

Don't take my word on the trades, go do the work yourself...or don't, and keep saying it doesn't happen.
Either way, this team needs to bring in talent by hook or by crook. I am not opposed to passing on Murray, Dunn, or Heil at 6 if we can trade with Denver or Boston to draft Valentine, Bacon, Luwawu, Allen, or Skal.
Already went through 6 years of the teams you listed and you are so wrong. Go redo your lost to what actually fits what the discussion was about. Lol you hope people don't go do the work because you do this all the time. Done arguing when you can't present actual facts to back up your argument except list every trade that went down in those drafts that don't fit anything what was being talked about.
If people do the research, will they side with you, and say these trades never happen? Or when people do the research will they side with me and say (like Kevin Garnett) "Anything is possible!" You went over the Minny trade and the Dallas trades showing that those trades do happen though. So what is it, do they happen, or do they not happen?
I'm proud of you doing that work though. You feelin' like you runnin', huh? Now you know how we feel
I think that too. I pray we can find one good FA and resign Ryno but we could flop on everything and end up with Gordon. As for trading down you only have to go back to 2013 and 14, it was done twice in the last 3 years maybe not with as high a pick as we will have.
There's not a lot of superstars but I see some good talent. We have to get from older ok talent to younger good talent. Once we get there we can step up to great talent.
The only trade I wanna do is to try to trade for a 2nd 1st rounder. I want AJ Hammons, the dude is a straight baller and having him next AD is mouth watering.
I am. Top talent in the NBA can be found at the top of the draft usually. You are better off by percentage just drafting at 6 then trading down. We need a star player. Quantity over Quality does nothing for us at this point. I would much rather draft Dunn than any combo of those other guys. Trading down is playong a dangerous game betting on your scouting ability being better than everyone elses. Most of the time you lose.
According to some, taking Dunn isn't a good idea since he has had injury problems (not me, but others). If injury is your concern (which you are telling me it's not) you would be better off with a combo of the guys listed, than with Dunn.
But more than anything, more than his talent, I would be game for taking Dunn because he is a commander. He will throw the team on his shoulders and go to work. He won't always win, but he will command the court. Guys like Heild and Valentine (and Dunn) have been doing that since they are Jrs and Seniors. They have grown and been trained to be leaders. That's that talent that doesn't show up on a stat sheet, but it's a real need here.
I think having a guy like AD makes up for it. It's not like he's a black hole on defense, he's fairly decent if I recall. We traded for Asik for his defense and he's essentially useless. Hammons can be great for us because he's another weapon on offense.
Stone's a good idea, but his size isn't ideal for a center; in my eyes at least. Who knows.
Hammons has shoulders like a Bruce Timm superhero.
But how can I deny a player named Diamond Stone? He's a friggin' Steven Universe character.
Bleacher report has a mock from a couple days ago. The second round has 5 players I would love, Trimble(pg), Hammond(C), Layman(SF/ small ball PF), Bacon(SG), and Bentil(PF). That could be my 1 through 5 young players. I would trade that for Perkins, Douglas, cole, and Babbit.
Good gracious, Hield is one of the best shot creators I've seen on a college level since Durant.
Trading back with Denver and taking a.....Timothe Luwawu and Skal Labissiere
or even a...Furkan Korkmaz and.. DIamond Stone
would both offer us a better chance of success. I understand higher picks tend to become the better players. But getting 2 as opposed to 1 changes all that
im biased towards players that are going to win the tournament this year (Maryland; hence getting Melo in the 2nd would be great)
I can already hear the chants in the Blender next year ----BUDDY, BUDDY, BUDDY!!!
We should get Buddy Heild. He's actually a great fit for the Pelicans. He's great in isolation, he can create his own shot, he's a great 3 point shooter, a great leader, he's improved dramatically and is a serious threat at all times. He will be a major problem for teams in the NBA. I love his confidence and he's going to be a huge upgrade over Gordon. The Pelicans should pick him.
Stone, Trimble, and D Jackson looked good today
Id rather Stone than many a pick
Melo Trimble is going to be an annoying player, who you love as a teammate, but hate as an opponent.
I.E., Derrick Fisher.
Pleaseee don't think Heild would be a good Iso scorer in the NBA. He's going to be similar to JJ. Majority of his points come from off ball movement and getting open.
