Boogie to the Lakers. If he gets healthy unfortunately he could be a great addition for them. McGee got paid more than him right?
So, I know that there weren't many options left so predictions of what the Lakers lineup would be like weren't impressive, but
I think so far, my guesses are looking solid. They got Green, which I didn't expect, but they have indeed picked up Boogie/McGee/KCP, and there are rumblings of Morris and Rondo heading there too.
That is still a top 4 or 5 team in the West, but still behind LAC and Utah IMHO.
I think we honestly have as much of a chance as the Lakers do :hihi:
Obviously they have the Big Name Superstars, but we are just considerably deeper and more defensively gifted than they are. We have more guys who can create their own shots too, while the Lakers will be relying on Lebron and (if they get him) Rondo to make everything work.
''The problem with the Pelicans is that they had AD for 7 years and just couldn't put real talent around him!''
AD: *Goes to LA*
LA: *Signs Boogie, Rondo, Quinn Cook*
:hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
Damn it Boogie to the Lakers!! Well it’s only a 1 year deal. I figured he would do like last year and sign a 1 year deal with the best team that would take him. Then hopefully increase his value to get a big deal next year. So it doesn’t really effect our picks.
C: Boogie, McGee
PF: AD, Dudley
SF: Kuzma?, KCP
SG: Green, Daniels
PG: LeBron, Cook
Plus we know AD doesn’t want to play center lol
Free agent Rajon Rondo is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell @ramonashelburne and me.

The Rondo Prediction Is In
Lakers should get Tyreke Evans
And Rondo??
Quick correction lol
C: Boogie, McGee
PF: AD, Dudley
SF: Kuzma?, KCP
SG: Green, Daniels
PG: Lebron, Rondo, Cook
I still think LeBron may play point. I would think they want Kuzma in the starting lineup, but maybe not. Maybe Rondo starts with Kuzma coming off the bench with KCP. At least they got a decent bench now.
If the Lakers sign Solomon Hill, can we throw a pizza party?
DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo will reportedly sign with the Lakers.

Cousins is a year and a half removed from his Achilles tear, but averaged just 8.3 PPG on 43% shooting in the NBA Finals.
Rondo had a +/- of -245 last season, ranking 501st out of 530 qualifying players. pic.twitter.com/Lidka4ymnr
PLAYOFF TEAM.

Looks like LA will probably NOT be getting Marcus Morris after all... haha
Good, now lets finalize the trade and let the principles in the trade talk to the media.
"Tell me, Lonzo, what kind of a teammate was LBJ?"
"Tell me, AD, has your pinkie finger adequately healed so that you will be available on opening night?"
"Brandon, how does it feel to be out of that soap opera?"
"Jaxson, you have been held in limbo. Are you looking forward to playing tonight?"
Seems that way don’t it? https://t.co/qKKQRBT9Pz

Available & unrestricted free agents that played at least 1,500 minutes this past season...
— John Schuhmann (@johnschuhmann) July 6, 2019
Justin Holiday
Marcus Morris
Jabari Parker
And Marcus has already said he's not going to LA.
So.... what's left for the Lakers?
Cousins' one-year deal with the Lakers is $3.5M. https://t.co/nXaFChoG3C
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 6, 2019
$5.3M + $3.5M = $40M? :huh2::shakehd2:
so i guess we the lakers plus zion.....and the lakers are the pels plus lebron lol......i know we are playing the lakers on Christmas day....i hope its down here....
pels VS lakers
clippers VS toronto
nets VS boston
heat VS philly
this should be the christmas games....maybe the knicks VS the warriors also..
Gayle will not allow any home games on Christmas. It’s a religious holiday.(Joking)
Lakers fans spent all this energy trashing Dell Demps only to put the same players around AD

Anyone feel sorry for Davis now?
Lakers signing Cook too? Championship! LOL!

This has been a wild offseason.
Let's see:
Lebron missed 27 games this past year...
DeMarcus Cousins missed more than half of his team's games over the last two years and has not played as many 70 games in any one season since 2013-14...
Rajon Rondo only participated in 46 games last season....
Anthony Davis has played less than 70 games in all but two of his seven season in New Orleans.....
This team doesn't need a training facility...they need a MASH Unit.
Seems that way don’t it? https://t.co/qKKQRBT9Pz

There is something annoying about this. One season ago, Pelicans lost Rondo and Boogie on the offseason after sweeping Portland on playoffs first round. Rondo gave 5 minutes to the Pelicans to match Lakers' offer. Cousins rejected all Pelicans' offers and signed with the Warriors for the MLE. Pelicans' FO managed to sign Payton, Randle and Okafor for cheap, but they still took the blame for missing Rondo and Cousins.
Now the Lakers have missed Kawhi, but I'm hearing even praise for recovering and sign Rondo and Boogie for cheap. They have been convinced by Davis. Why couldn't he do the same last year? Why nobody praised Payton, Randle and Okafor signings and now are praising Rondo and Boogie contracts? Yeah. I get it. The point was to justify Davis forcing his way out.
We laugh about it, but if the Pelicans team that had Boogie AD and Rondo also had Lebrun instead of Solomon Hill, that would have been a championship contending squad. Although I have mixed emotions about this I am interested to see the Boogie AD pairing again. Always felt that could work.
Agreed.
His game was never based on athleticism, speed, or hops, but it required a certain minimum to make it work. His handles weren't incredible, but for a big man they were good enough that he could get by people as long as he had even SOME speed. Now he's even slower, the handle doesn't work. Same for finishing at the rim: he led the league in having his shots blocked even before the injury, but now that he has literally no bounce whatsoever, he's even more vulnerable around the rim. He never had a super bouncy jump shot either, but the lift he DID get is gone now and his perimeter shooting fell off a cliff as a result.
He was never a great defender either, but he had good general instincts for loose balls and passing lanes, but again, the injury robbed him of his (already low) lateral quickness and now he's just a traffic cone on defense.
He had a skillset that was tailored to maximise his play despite relatively unimpressive athleticism, speed, and footwork. Now he has zero athleticism, speed, and footwork, and his skillset isn't good ENOUGH to hold him at star level with that extra decrease in physical ability.
The Thunder got a slightly better trade for PG13 than the Pels got for AD, but to be fair, more than what the Thunder got back, it’s about the freedom they are getting by getting rid of PG13. That Thunder team had peaked, and wasn’t going to get better. By getting off PG13 and getting SGA they are getting a great piece to build with. By getting Galo they are getting a near AS player on an expiring (a guy who many of us wanted here if the Clipps went for the salary dump). They also got a ton of draft picks to go along with future cap space. It’s a nice haul.
Where we can come out ahead is if the Lakers absolutely suck it up the years we get their draft picks. Given the players I would have preferred what OKC got over Ball, Ingram, and Hart.
