I wonder if Evan's says his "heart" is in NOLA.
Sounds to me he is just using NO as leverage like Gordon did with the Suns.

Yeah, we may be the Suns in this scenario. No reason to waste 3 days if we have any indication they will match.
The Kings have plenty of cap room to match and keep him. So, the only issue could be if they want to replace him with someone else. Based on the info above, it does not appear so.

Tyreke Evans will meet w/ Atlanta tomorrow. Still had New Orleans offer on table. Met w/ Kings and Detroit today
Since our offer, he has shopped it to the Pistons and Kings and will shop it to Hawks tomorrow. Demps should tell him we need an answer. We should not spend the next week wondering whether he can get another team to outbid us. If he is not interested, we should move on to plan B.
Why wouldn't he have a chance to see if other teams will match or exceed? I wouldn't want him taking forever, but a couple of days seems reasonable.
Yeah... if the world worked that convenient.
Screw the whole moratorium and fact that we can't sign anyone for a week.
Yo Tyreke... we need a promise, but not like in writing. We need one of those "Kushman word stronger than oak" promises. Cool? Alright man... dap it up. B/c we can't handshake. :p
I was pretty pumped, but it looks like Reke will be back in Sactown. I thought maybe they'd just let him go with Ben M. but they aren't going to just let talent like that walk and I can't blame them.
Still hoping they let him walk though.
Yeah, I'm not sure how his heard would be in a city he hasn't lived/played in. Dude wants to see what his options are. This decision will mean years of his career and millions of dollars.
Hearing New Orleans offer to Tyreke Evans is constructed to discourage Kings from matching.

When is he gonna sign the d@mn offer sheet!
It's been like 24 hrs, give the guy a minute to decide the next 4 yrs of his life.
I don't know what I want, but I really want to know what happens!

48 pages long, Evans better be a good one. :hihi:
RT @ReggieMillerTNT: Pelicans reportedly offer Tyreke Evans 4yr $40-48 million, I need to get back in gym......
-----
Is the pelicans front office n some ppl on this board the only ones that think this is a good offer for Evans...
He can't sign the offer sheet until the 10th, why would he give an "agreement" on the 1st?
Yeah I mean agree to the offer sheet!! C'mon man sign the thing already!!
Can we decline Lopez and then re-sign him like we were thinking they could have done with Smith?
Like instead of 2 years 10.5M not guaranteed (currently before July 5) he gets a 4 year deal 21M deal guaranteed?
Easy to forget the Kings element in all this. No matter what we offered, Kings could match anyway.
Guess I got roped into the talk that they wouldn't match him.
I know this sounds stupid, but maybe the Kings said they wouldnt match in hopes that teams would try to get him on the cheap (hence they would be able to match the cheaper contract). If so, said plan backfired... Its a stupid notion, but I wouldnt put anything past Sactown reguardless of ownership.
Why not just offer GV in a sign and trade and call it a day?
let dell work his magic.
Looks like Gordon may get traded after all?
via rotoworld...
Tyreke Evans reportedly came away encouraged about his future in Sacramento after meeting with the Kings on Monday, and is on his way to meet with the Hawks in Atlanta on Tuesday.
Kings ownership re-affirmed their interest in keeping Evans but there are still no indications that they will match offers. For his part, Evans likes playing in Sacramento but he's going to have to convince management that he can play hard, pass the ball and run a team before they match a big offer.

so... what player or combo of players do you think is plan B if the Kings match? Sacramento could also be posturing to get something out of a sign and trade. I'd offer GV, because we need the cap space anyway. Atlanta could overpay for Evans even more with their ridiculous cap space and no big names realistically wanting to go to their team.
Two questions.
Could Sacramento sign Evans right now if they wanted to? Or do they have to wait until the 10th as well?
Could Dell mention Jrue in the meeting last night at all? I assume not.
i have been about getting Evans for a couple of years and even i am cringing a little at the offer. Something tells me that the contract number is way
off like it was in the Anderson signing at first. I don't think we can give the details yet anyways.
