LOL?! Beat the odds to land AD? If the odds were sucking, then we sure did.
Getting Oden would dispel a lil' of the illusion that only bigger name teams matter. It would also mean we sold him on how good this team could be with him returning to his best.
I mean, if he goes to the Spurs, they'll be good anyway. Heat won two titles without him, he'd just add to their success. Come here and be healthy and we could do something amazing.
guess we're out of the running

According to ESPN.com, Oden will work out for three teams this week: the Heat, the Spurs, and the Pelicans. He met with the Kings and Mavericks last week, but they are reportedly considered long shots. New Orleans's pitch is intriguing:
The Pelicans, sources said, are building their pitch around the fact going to New Orleans would enable Oden to make his comeback far away from the media glare and with no immediate pressure as he tries again to bounce back from the knee issues that have plagued him since college.
But according to the same report, Miami and San Antonio are the clear front-runners. The Spurs have a lot more cap space, but that only matters if they're willing to offer anything more than an exemption's worth for a guy who has played in 82 total games over six years.
It's a chance to see if we are as attractive as we think! If Oden is considering playing for us, it's already a good sign.
I'm trying to keep my calm, it's a long process. It would be huge for us if Oden chooses the Pelicans over the Heat and the Spurs.
I feel like we can offer him a great opportunity for the long term, we just don't have history playing on our favor.
I know what you're saying but I feel like this situation is different because of Oden's injury history. He has been sitting out so he can get healthy enough to show he can still play. If he really was just about the money he would have signed a contract a year or two ago in my opinion. I really feel he wants to show off that he can play again and that he has a spot in this league.
Not sure where he gets that SA has a lot more cap space. He seems to have forgotten about the $10 million allocated to Splitter's contract that pushes them over $61 million in committed salary. Unless SA has delayed that signing, I am not sure they have much more than the minimum to offer.
By re-signing tiago and Manu, the Spurs have decided to remain an "over the cap team". That means that all they have is about the $5 million over the cap exception. They have also signed Marco Bellineli for $3 million, plus pendergraph from Indy. That eats into the exception. In short, they do not have more than us.
wasn't crazy about Gregs twitter comments about Heat

Said Oden, "The decision is kinda like one of my knees. It could go either way."

Is this workout/meeting the only scheduled meeting we will have with him? Or will we have an individual session with him as well?
He looks to have a Facebook page though.

That's how private Oden is. Oden doesn't even tell himself much.
