It would be difficult.
I'm kind of with pawel, when it comes to Okafor I believe in his offensive ability. He's never really played big minutes since his rookie season ended, but his per 36's have always been pretty good (career average 19.8/8.2 per 36 is fine for a backup big) and when adjusting for pace, his career per 100s look good too (26.9/11.1).
The defense is the big question: he's got a career 110 defensive rating, and a career offensive rating of 100. So that's a -10 net, on his career. Partially that's because he's been on awful teams, but we know from the individual stats that opponents shoot 1.8% better than their averages against him overall, and 6% better from 3. On the plus side, they do shoot 4.9% worse within 6 feet, and 4.2% worse when that's stretched out to 10 feet, so he's shown some signs as a rim protector and interior D guy. I just wonder if Erman can actually do something with that, given how much of our defensive scheme relies on bigs coming out to trap, and on occasional switching.
Can he run? It's been so long since I've seen him play real minutes that I can't even remember if he can run.

Worse motor and defender in the league. Only good in post up iso situations on offense. I'd be surprised if he's on an NBA team this year, let alone a team competing for the playoffs.
There's more footage. Not a lot. But yeah anybody who watched him play, knows he's not a good NBA player

I’ve been wanting Jahlil on this team. His offensive game will fit nicely but his defense needs a lot of help. He isn’t much worse than a bunch of other bigs in this league and maybe Erman can fix somethings. I think the biggest need from him or Monroe (another favorite mostly because he’s local) for the pelicans is to be able to bang with really big guys. Guys like Cousins and Embiid love to bang and shove so we need a guy or two with a little weight. It’s fine to play Niko or Randle at the end of games on them but let’s get a guy that can go during the game and Diallo isn’t that guy.
Cleveland traded for Sam Dekker. Any sign that this means they're not anticipating keeping Hood, or is this just wishful thinking?
We could only hope. If we ended up with Hood and Jahlil, I think we are almost set. Prob still like to grab Blossomgame depending what we had to give up for Hood. They have a little Jahlil talk on tigerdroppings.
Payton, Jackson Clark
Jrue, Moore
Hood, Miller
Davis, Randle
Mirotic, Jahlil.
So what's the word with Okafor is he coming or nah?
Gotta wonder though if they can play him at PF, they already have Love, Nance Jr, Channing Frye, and TT who play PF either some or all of the time. So either they're planning on another move, or they're gonna be forced just by minutes to play Dekker at the small forward. Or just go into the season with way too many PFs that they know are gonna benchride.
Hood is probably CLeveland's best wing scorer now that LBJ is gone. They'd be nuts to let him go now. Maybe Hood leaves after this season but they'll be smart to hold onto him now.
Took a few days off to come back to J. OKa-for real...smgdh
If cle is smart they would move hood for an unprotected first and a second. Maybe a hill for hood sign and trade? They have to be looking towards the draft this year and next...
Last time Lebron left they sucked for Irving. Maybe they will suck again and we can loot them lol
What does Silverfoxx know about insider information?

Lmao alright Silverfoxx, I see you.
Oakafor Jah-rules!
Instead of Okafor I would of rathered we gave Greg Monroe a 1 year 2.2 million dollar deal like he just got with the Raptors. You would think he would of came here for same since it’s his hometown.
It was all about role.
Monroe knows that he can get only minimum.
So he wanted to have a role (third big) for a contender.
Dont have data if Dell was interested.
But in February Dell was mad that Monroe had chosen Celtics.

This might be one of the funniest headlines I've read recently.
LOL
"The ideal situation for me would be a team that thinks they need that one last piece to become a contender and a brand-new GM who’s been out of basketball for years without really keeping up,” said Anthony, explaining that he would love to find a team run by someone who is completely out of touch with advanced statistics and has spent at least half a decade or more focused on his family and personal life rather than evaluating NBA talent."
The very next sentence is the one that holds all the punch to me.
''“I can definitely be a major contributor on a team where upper management is in transition and completely off their game. Some place with a GM who knows all my strengths from five years ago and a new or unpopular coach who can take all the blame for my play would be perfect.” Anthony added that his ideal teammates would be ones that didn’t need to touch the ball to have an impact.''
Monroe turned us down at a different time though. He thought he had a better chance at a ring and more playing time with the Celtics. I bet he wish he would of came here in the playoffs cause he would of likely got more PT. I think he would of come here this time cause we don’t have a true starting center really. It’s well known that AD would rather not play there. Plus he’s from here, so I would think he would want to play here as well, but he may think he has a better chance at a ring & PT with the Raptors. Dell knows it’s a business, so I doubt he would take it personally. I just don’t care for our backup center situation with Okafor & Ajinca. Hopefully Diallo will be the 4th big man off the bench anyway.
Just read that we are one of the teams interested in Mario Chalmers. What is it with us liking these smaller combo guards? How many do we need for crying out loud? I liked Chalmers earlier in his career, but not now. If we looking to bring anyone else in it should be another decent size wing or center IMO.
The Pelicans are reportedly in "discussions" with Jahlil Okafor regarding a training camp deal.
This isn't the first time we've seen New Orleans linked to Okafor, and they could certainly use some help at the five-spot in wake of DeMarcus Cousins' departure. That said, Okafor could make significantly more money in China, and if the best he can get in the NBA is a camp invite, he might just go ahead and head overseas. Stay tuned.

NBA free agent point guard Mario Chalmers is completely healthy and is getting interest from Brooklyn, Dallas and New Orleans, a source said.

As much as I’d like Hood, I’m not giving up a first. I’m gonna hold that till the trade deadline and pray for a bigger fish even if it’s a rental. A bunch of good players could be available and we wouldn’t have next years first to sweeten the pot. Would you rather Hood or any one of butler, Kawhi, kemba, Kyrie or some other player unhappy in his position? I’d prefer to wait. Now I would be open to Hood for a second or maybe even a couple seconds is he is signed for multiple years.
I would prefer Hood over any of those guys for a half season rental. If it's long term, heck yeah, I'll take the others but nah. We've got a good core. Don't want to blow it on a rental.
So the Holy Trinity of Pelicans insiders here is MM, Kumar and silverfoxx? Oh and my friend pawel ofc ;)
There's way too many holes in his game to give up those kind of assets, even with a Solo dump
Would need to be Porter or better to give up that much. Someone who can actually play defense as well as be an offensive threat
Agree with this. That 1st is our key asset. We need to maximise it, not blow it on the first dude that becomes available
Per Woj Okafor is headed to the Pels.
Free agent center Jahlil Okafor has agreed to a deal with New Orleans, league sources tell ESPN.

James Johnson would be good for this team. It's probably not gonna happen, but he's the kind of player that we need on the wing.
I guess this happened while I was asleep
Houston has traded Ryan Anderson and De'Anthony Melton to Phoenix for Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight, league source tells ESPN.

I like that trade for Houston. They get out of 2yrs/$41m for Anderson in exchange for 2yrs/$29m for Knight, as well as gaining a top ten pick who's still only 21 to replace him, and who's on a tiny 2yrs/$7m deal. They save $5m overall, and gain a young PF who's zero risk, all reward if he ends up being decent.
