That all depends on who is on the floor for the Pelicans and the opponent. Young will not see significant minutes his first year anyway. Withey even played the 4 in short spurts on occasion last year. We would still have a roster spot to bring on a pure 4 or a swing 3/4 if needed (6 front liners on the roster would not be unusual).

Again, if Ajinca's contract is needed to make the trade for Asik work, none of this matters as obviously Asik is much more important than Ajinca. However, if there were a way to keep him, that would be my preference. Young 7'2" centers who actually show some promise do not grow on trees.

I agree. I would rather keep Ajinca than not if we don't have to sacrifice anyone else. But of all the possible guys/assets to sacrifice (Ajinca, Rivers, Withey, Bird Rights, BAE, MLE), Ajinca would be the first one I chose to move by quite a bit

I'd imagine that the trade to free up space will coincide with the Asik trade. They may even be merged into a single, mult-team transaction.

If MM is to be believed, which I have no reason to doubt, it hasn't messed up our moves. They just won't be announced until the 13th.

I'm just wondering why not announce now if it's a done deal. Unless, Dell is trying to the last minute to move Roberts/Smith instead of Rivers.

for anyone worried about the Asik trade after some article popped up today saying there were issues w/ it on the Pels side after the official salary cap was announced...

The news may break beforehand, but rest assured the Asik to #Pelicans move will go down right after the clock strikes midnight on the 13th.

In your opinion, any realistic chance the equation could change between now and then? Or would we want it to?

There is just no upside for me. I get nothing out of it but frustration. People are just nasty and don't appreciate anything. I have tried for years to fight through it but I can't any more.

And nothing will change my mind on that. If I were getting paid for this, I would grit my teeth and deal with it, but it has gone from something I have pleasure doing to something I dread because of how people think they can talk to me/about me.

Not throwing a pity party - just explaining myself so nobody thinks I am going dark for whatever reason they choose to make up

No. The main components are all done. Now, Dell could sign some guys or agree to something else. But the big, core move is all done. Has been since the 8th.

Ok guys, I have analyzed this for a solid 30 minutes and I have it figured out!

I have come to the conclusion that it can only mean a three trade where Houston gets our pick, Ely, Babbitt, and Chris Bosh, Miami gets Eric Gordon and Rivers, and we get Lebron and Asik.

Austin Rivers headed to Denver.

2+5= 7

Elway is 7 and equals Denver.

Why do you guys have to break nice things?

Anyway does this mean a writer slot is opening up on BSS? I can submit something within 24 hours.
