Play-In Game One - New Orleans Pelicans vs Oklahoma City Thunder

JAX has eight rebounds in in 8:52 played.

Gonna need to come out in the 3rd with some ideas for helping BI and CJ create some stronger looks, and a re-dedication to JV (who, despite not picking up a single foul or turnover, and putting up 11/12 in 15 minutes, played the fewest minutes of any starter).

This is winnable. We're up and that's despite rough shooting games so far for BI and CJ, and rough 3pt shooting for the entire team. This could swing wildly in our favour in the third if we come out serious.

Good call. Gotta have the narcissism in there or it doesn't work.

The difference, so far is 3pt shooting. They've taken about 10 more than us, so they've made a few more, that's why they're still in it.

SGA barely gets touched and a foul is called. Meanwhile, Ingram gets mugged and it's 'play on'. And I make it a policy never to rag on the referees.

I feel the same. I’m not one to do it either but Ingram is getting no respect from the officials.

JV was owning them down low and now, he can't get the ball?

I know the approach they're taking to him is mildly different but it still startles me how little we look to JV given how effective he was in the first half. Just nothing.

Jax watched a rebound go by and then a driving player go by. He doesn’t have basketball instincts.

One of the annoying things about bad reffing is that it doesn't just make the game about the refs, it also takes away from what makes certain players fun to watch.

Part of what's fun to watch about SGA, when he's at his best, is the fact that he's a layup artist with very little explosion or burst. So for him, at his best, it's all about taking angles, fluid movement, odd finishing craft, etc.

When the refs decide they're going to give him 40 calls a night he quits doing all of that and just jumps into defenders. So the refs have ruined the play but also the player. It's so frustrating as a fan.

Rebounding equates with effort. Thunder want it more than us tonight.

Majority of his career he will spend it in bubble wrap. Ingram will eventually want out

The league does not want defence , they want scoring anyway they can get it

The Pels just looked at everything that went right in the first half and decided to do none of it in the third. What a botch-job.

He is a glorified role player. Nothing more, nothing less.

JV was feasting in the 1st and plays the least mins of any starter SMH

the whole 2nd half we gone away from bully ball inside with jonas....it was working in the 1st half and i dont see anything that okc is doing in the 2nd half on defense that tell me they adjusted to giving up inside plays to jonas....

this the second game in a row where ingram is being played hard defensively and playing through the contact and not getting calls but herb getting touchy fouls called on him....

we need inside scoring to balance this out but jonas get no plays called for him .....hell put billy in the game to get something inside going.....jax is not a offensive physical player inside the paint....

In reality, it’s not so much the coach. But the presumed leader on the team having a terrible game when he’s needed the most in a must win game.
