HELL YEAH BOYS here we come!!
Zion barrels towards the basket like a rino and then has the softest touch to finish, its such a contradiction
From what I can tell his struggles arent in one on one iso situations, but rather in understanding how to move in the scheme, who to pick up and when to do it. Which indicates that he does have the ability of a good defender but his defensive IQ hasnt gotten there yet.
Timeout crowd dancing to get on TV in the NBA is wild to me
You would never see this in basically any other league in the world
Yanks are nuts
We bring it close, then make a series of weird/absurd plays which compound with some unfavourable calls in the worst moments and the deficit balloons again. It's rinse and repeat at this point.
Herb just did it twice in a row! Stole the ball from Morant and got a bucket, then forced an up and down by getting in the passing lane. Thats why this guy gets to play despite bricking his 3 pointers
Ja Morant is really good, like really really good. I dont think you can double team him either because he will find the open guy. Just have to hope Dyson and Herb can slow him down.
Letting Morant to shoot 3s seems to be the move. He is 0 for 5 from the arc.
That's a good TO
If we could string together like, 3 minutes of legit play we could go up 10 pretty easily :hihi: far easier said than done
CJ replies to a stepback 2 with a stepback 3 lmao
What a time for him to make his first 3 of the game
zion with the turnovers....willie should have taken him out earlier to give him a rest....and call some plays for other players to get get looks to score....
Grizz lead is 4 going into the 4th.
On paper, that's a very competitive game, but we just cannot seem to get it over the hump. Always ''closing'' the gap, never quite being able to close that gap. Very frustrating
This one-on-one bs that CJ reverts to drives me nuts.
I say this every time, but I hate it every time. The way we do the final possession where everyone stands around and watches CJ dribble around then throw something up. It almost never works!
You get the game close going into the 4th and then immediately give up a 7-0 run. Come on, guys.
Memphis struggling against us on our back end of a back to back ....hope we can find the energy in the 4th to pull the win off...
Wow the Pelicans came out looking like garbage. A super close game is suddenly a double digit lead with 9 straight from the Grizzlies to open the 4th quarter.
Sure but, as has been said a million times by a million players over the years, it's hard to motivate yourself to move when you know you're not going to get passed the ball.
That's not to knock CJ as a passer, he's very willing and capable most of the time. But when he gets into his little dribble sequences you just know that shot's going up, why bother running about?
That?s game. Had to keep it close until Zion came back in the game and couldn?t pull it off. Jaren Jackson?s banked-in three was a lucky dagger for the Grizz.
No way an 11 point game is ever "game" with a whole quarter left to play in the NBA.
Big Jonas foulded out, that's a problem. He got a lot of ticky tack calls this game. All 5 guys on the floor are going to have to make a point of rebounding and boxing out now.
This is a very 2015-2020 Pels game, man
I feel like we need to go big here, we have lost control of the paint without Jonas. Maybe Jax, Zion, and Willy all 3 on the floor
I hate NBA refs, most inconsistent officials in all of sports
The energy just isn?t there tonight. No biggie. Hopefully we come prepared for Philly
Just sit the starters, Willie. Pack it in for tonight. No use racking up useless minutes on guys on a b2b if we're not in it.
Graham against Ja is just asking for trouble. Dyson should be in there right now.
We have played them 3 times so far this year, counting tonight. Won by double digits at home, lost the road games. While it's true that winning on the road is important - nobody denies that - it's also common parlance for people to say that a series doesn't even start until someone loses at home. Winning at home is what you're supposed to do.
I'm not worried about Memphis. In the playoffs you don't play b2bs, you certainly don't play home/away b2bs, and if we're still missing Ingram and Nance by the postseason we're probably not in for a great time anyway.
To me it’s not a good sign when the players are falling on their ****** all night. We are tired.
Also - I know this has been said before - but Trey needs to shoot more. Guy is a legit monster shooter, I cannot stand when he has games with 2 or 3 attempts from deep. Guy needs to be shooting Klay Thompson volume, 7+ every night.
Hayes is looking like the closest thing we have to a spark right now.
Its been a while since Jose Alvarado's impact has been felt in a game. I hope his ribs are ok, because that injury marked the last time he was electric in a game.
Honestly Griffin should have played Garrett Temple every minute of the game and called up 4 scrubs from the practice squad for this game. Is Sato available for a 1 day contract?
It's New Years Eve. A back to back should not be on the table, but this is the idiotic NBA.
It's a combo, definitely. Sometimes he doesn't get plays, but sometimes he does and just refuses the shots anyway. It can be either on any given possession, which is frustrating. People his size with his shooting acumen and range need to both get and take shots.
Junk time Jax beasting
Hopefully we see Brandon Ingram in 2023. He's been gone for too long we miss him.
