This sums it up.

But Paul George didn't go to the Lakers like he thought or any team we thought he was gonna go to. OKC came out of no where... so even if he pulls a PG and wants to come here Washington might go somewhere else with a better offer and whose to say that team he gets traded to doesn't become successful and he stays with that team
The difference being the Lakers had no reason to trade. They have the cap room and can just sign him outright next year.
If a trade for Wall was going to happen, it would be a substantial offer by us. The hope is all of our bench players ball out and increase their value enough to make it worthwhile.
The PELICANS will very likely have a very good season. This is the best team Rondo has been on since the CELTICS. If Jrue and Rondo click we will be brutal. My biggest concern is that we won't have good 3 point shooting in the starting lineup. We have some reserves who are decent shooters, Miller, Crawford, Moore, and possibly Jackson.
No one in our starting 5 is a great high volume 3 point shooter.
I would have Hill shooting 3s and doing shooting drills all offseason. He needs a shooting specialist/trainer to help him perfect his 3 point shot. I think he could get up to .38 percent with the right training. I also would focus on shooting 3s with Holiday. Our starters have to hit 3s consistently. I'm hoping Demps can pull off another trade or pickup one more guy who can be a reserve SF who shoots 3s well and can play starter minutes. Cunningham might be just fine. IDK
Another thing is we need to be careful about running the team offense through AD. I would want AD to still have a huge role but I want him to be the guy who takes over the game when needed. We need our other players to be confident with or without Davis. We can go to him early and often but we need lots of scoring from the other players. We can win about 55 games IMO if we have a balanced attack and create matchup problems against teams in our division. A lot is a stake this year and I think this team could be really special. Screw the CELTICS. We are going to the playoffs and I predict we will get at least past the first round. AD will not be traded. I can't wait till we beat teams like the ROCKETS, SPURS, BOSTON, GSW, CAVS etc. watch. We are going to beat their butts. Lol

I disagree, the Lakers had 50+ million reasons to trade for him. Money talks and PG is paired with a Superstar in OKC now. OKC can offer way more money to stay than the Lakers can. Lakers banking on past success once again and could end up missing out.
That said, PG doesn't fit the Lakers timetable. He's gonna be 28/29 when he gets that deal... team is young, whats the point in a West that is already a cluster eff with talented teams.
Adding Rondo and Darius Miller, drafting Jackson and resigning Jrue is a pretty good offseason if you ask me. Adding Finch I probably a plus as well. If we are at .500 after about 20 games I will be concerned. We need to start strong and go about 16-4. I really like our bench right now. Add another role player to this team and I think we're set. We're still weak at SF imo. If Dante is resigned I'm happy with it. Have Dante step in at SF off the bench, Cook or Crawford at pg, Miller or Moore at sg and Diallo and Ajinca for Frontcourt. I think any of these guys can get minutes. If our reserves are very aggressive on offense and pay uptempo hitting threes I see us been awesome.

This was our biggest FA signing of the offseason.
This man will unlock our team's offense to incorporate Boogie (or should I call him "Boggie" since he in de swamp now?)
and take advantage of the BEST passing big man in the game.
Finch for offense and helping Boogie.
Erman for defense and helping Rondo.
Gentry & McMillan to integrate the personalities.
I'm hoping for a breakout year.
The fact that it's the best team for Rondo in quite a while is significant. Like you said there is a chance we might have a very solid backcourt. I really believe in Hill and I think he can be better for this team than people here think. I like his passing ability and unselfishness. But like you said a lot of depends on his three point shooting. I hope Solomon is in the gym taking hundreds of them right now :)
He was let go to allow Pels to have more room in the offseason. At least it looked like that. He had quite big cap hold.
And this cap space was needed ICE. If Jrue was going to walk.
If that was the case - Dell should have remain with his bird rights. And just should have renounced those rights when it might have been needed...
And it should be mentioned that he had JUST had a season ending injury
and we still thought we could make the playoffs at that point.
They're like if I was all "Melo for Solo and Asik and some picks."
So frustrating.
Are the Boston fans not talking like we are about the Wizards and Wall? Only difference is we are asking a player on a winning team to join a loser team, while the Celtics are asking a player on a losing team to join a winning team.
That is a different discussion. I was specifically talking about people saying we let him go. We did not. He was free to go wherever he wanted to no matter what we did last season.
Keep in mind we had a deal in place to bring him back after he was done recovering which would have us keeping his Birds Rights but when that time came he chose to sign with the Timberwolves and sit on the bench instead of coming back here.

Per hoopshype.com
Mannix said the Celtics have the capability of putting together a hard-to-turn-down offer, especially if the lottery luck continues with the Nets and Lakers picks the C’s own. “If you’re the Pelicans, they’re going to be very few offers that make you pause for Anthony Davis,” Mannix said. “Spin it forward to next June and the let’s say ping-pong balls fall Boston’s way. The Nets are bad, let’s say they’re number one. The Lakers land in the two through five range. Let’s say they wind up at three. “One and three and Jayson Tatum?” Mannix theorized. “That’s going to be hard for New Orleans to turn down.”
"It’s reasonable to think that he will want out and that his people will start pressing to get him out,” Beck said. “If you’re the Boston Celtics and you’re still sitting on that cache of picks and players, you are sitting so perfectly to make that kind of deal. Arguably, given Anthony Davis’ talent and his age, this should be the best package we’ve seen in, I don’t know, decades. It should be the kind of package that blows you away. The kind of package people thought they wanted to see Boston do for Paul George or Jimmy Butler."
Again, just thought I'd share.
Seriously if I don't see any new Orleans reporters make a article about us looking to aquire Issah Thomas soon, then we will miss out on an amazing come back. I mean WTH is BBS doing right now? They can hot gold with this lol
I never had anyone explain to me why we should trade AD? I've heard people say well its because we won't win anything. But that doesn't explain why we should trade him. Unless he starts pulling a Kyrie and requesting out, you try and win with him.
I think no one gives this Cousins thing s chance in working. People don't even want to entertain the possibility that this could actually be something great. Its amazing that fans of large markets perpetuate this nonsense that they are the only ones that should be good. You don't hear the fans of Milwaukee or Indiana saying we should trade AD to Boston.
