Game Day Thread! Pelicans vs Trail Blazers 12/20/14

I guess since the Blazers played 7 quarters last night, we are giving them the gift of only having to play their starters for 2 quarters tonight.

One day my ship will come, one day Monty will be gone.

Alot of ball to be played fellas. Basketball is "a game of runs". portland is making theirs. We'll make ours. But yeah we're stinking up all of Louisiana in this first half.

Get it to within about 12 by halftime and we'll be good. They can't shoot this well ALL game long.

Dante's mid range game is ridiculous.

Blazers are just incredibly hot right now. 56% from field, 50% from 3pt. They've only attempted 3 more shots than us. They are just hitting everything.

I am as big a supporter of Jimmers as anyone, but that guy isn't long for the NBA. If Mikel got cut for poor shooting, that guaranteed contract is the only thing keeping Jimmer on this team.

Tyreke looks really bad tonight. If his knee is bothering him that muh he shouldn't play.

I'm not a Jimmer support, but I'm not allowed to argue, but he is an afterthought out there so I can't make a judgement on the guy.

He is not being properly used on this team. Most teams with shooters try to get them off. We don't do that. All coach does is try to steal some minutes and hope. He probably shouldn't be on this team.

Get it down to 10 before the half then turn the tide, AD will get it going.

AD has to be the worst screen setter. If he set better screens he would get more lobs.

You know if we are going to play this kind of defense, might as well have a offensive minded coach.

This team runs a better offence from a inbound pass then what we do from a set play.

Hmm maybe we end up with a winning record and still part way's with Monty. I am sure another team like Philly would jump on him especially if he was coming off of a winning season. I just don't think it the players, it's the way there taught.

Our backup PG has no assists.

That 1st quarter was such a crapfest we have to come out with an absolutely dominant quarter at some point or we won't win this game.

I haven't done enough drugs for the both of us to figure out how Monty isn't guilty for our poor results. He has taken us as far as he can, and there ain't much further he can take us. Cut bait now.

Our point guard is an elite on ball defender, but he doesn't move around screens well. AD is good at weakside and broken play defense, but he's got a lot to learn about the finner points of playing defense. Tyreke can play passing lanes alright, but he's not the defender a player with his strength and length should be. Asik is a man to man defender with passable pick and roll ability. But he's limited in lateral agility. Babbitt just exists.
