Yeah, it is totally crazy to say that Jimmer is better than Rivers:rolleyes:

Monty can be questioned (he's not Pops or Phil...or even a Van Gundy).
Up to this point Rivers has been a bust (who is defending him not being a bust?).
Up to this point Jimmer has been a bust as well (can't debate that either).
Our rotations are still being worked out (we wont know our rotations for some time).
You can be a fan of another team and feel welcome here. Your opinion counts as much as the next persons.
No. Your opinion doesn't count because you are just spouting non truths to try to call for a switch at the backup guard.
At least when I argue with other people here I know we both want what's best for the team. Believe what you will. You are irrelevant to me from this point forward.
Guys Rivers is not in the pelicans plans. Jimmer gets one chance here. No more.
I think we will trade Rivers.

I love how many conversations we have here about Rivers vs Jimmer. although their overall impact is negligable people will stop to no end to argue one over the other. Personally I think Rivers is a better overall player and a better overall fit than Jimmer. It doesn't mean I am Pro-Rivers or Anti-Jimmer. I'm relieved to see fans of other teams post on here because I think a lot of Pels fans are over optimistic towards the team. But lately people are really suspending logic to try and argue what they want to happen rather than what they think will happen. There is a big difference and I guess we're in the early part of the year which is the best time to do that but dang, some people have really lost it this year.
Can we trade fredette already? No? Not possible? *sigh*
Not crazy, but not necessarily right either. In any case if you know how Monty thinks, you'd understand that he values defence, and since rivers has the better reputation in that regard, and is also generally noted as being the better ball handler, he gets more minutes.
Jimmer might be better than Rivers, he also might be worse than Rivers. The issue here is that you can't argue that one is much better than the other, so it'll come down to the smaller details and the coach's strategy, which is not that unreasonable.
What's funny is, i got called out for not giving a good response; then i give one and he's got no counter. Because there isn't a counter; they both arent that good; and its like comparing cow poop to bull poop; who cares?
Now, cow poop stinks more
It will be interesting to see what the coach does. In my boredom while my puppy sleeps I looked up Jimmer vs. Grizzlies and he has had some pretty good games against them it seems. I wonder if coaching Will come in to the decisions. We shall see. I think they both aren't crap by the way...they just can't do everything. That is why they are bench players.
I wonder how many blazers fans are blood-thirsty about the Freeland/Leonard 4th big battle.
I wonder how many Bulls fans were broken up about whether Aaron Brooks can make up for the Augustin loss.
Think the Spurs are any less a playoff contender because Corey Joseph is worse than Patty Mills?
Both Rivers and Fredette are below-average NBA bench players. IMO Rivers is significantly better within that confine, but their production is more-or-less irrelevant to our success. We have a 3 guard rotation that'll eat up almost all of the guard minutes. If Monty keeps stealing SF minutes with Ryan, it's even more irrelevant.
jrue is a great defender, but he lacks elite speed/quickness. that is where i feel like rivers excels. i feel most comfortable if he is out there on the montas & eric bledsoes of the league. he made some dumb plays when he looked for his own shot against dallas but as a facilitator and defender he was great IMO
I actually thought he looked decent.
I don't get the negativity.
He was so weak with the ball when it really mattered. It's like the pressure (mental) gets to him more than the physical. He has to have better handles than that game.
Sick of seeing post like this about Rivers. Guy is improving and has turned into a solid player that only has room to grow more. Some people in this fan base are jokes and have no support for any of our players. Someone has a bad game and all you hear is trade him. Look at a guy like Danny Green for example and to me Rivers has all the ability to be a shooter like him but an even better player. If he keeps working and improving sky is the limit for him.
Go back to that wagon.... And jump off!!!
In all fairness, whenever telling people chill it's just one bad game. . .
The same applies the other way. Chill it's one good game. Now let's see if he can first have a complete game, then chain a couple together.
He's making dem floaters now.
Next game v Spurs gulp.
Sadly if he does well and we re-sign him you can kiss good bye to the KD dream. If we don't resign him we are back to looking for new bench help.
Go Team!
When Gordon leaves Rivers will be perfectly developed by then to slide in the starting shooting guard role and give us one of the most dangerous backcourts having Jrue/Rivers/Reke gives you 3 guys that can play point guard any day of the week. Holiday is an all star while Tyreke is a triple double waiting to happen anygiven night. I believe by the time Gordon is gone Rivers will be everything we need. Rivers can turn into a great defender already being very good, he is becoming a very good rebounder, starting to have a feel and vision for he game like a point guard, and developing a shot is key and will make him deadly. He needed to add strength and weight which he has to grow from a kid when we drafted him to a man. I love having Tyreke at the SF position and starting especially with the 3 pointer he has seemed to develop. We will have a starting lineup that will be a force for the next decade with how young they are. We can continue to build a dominant bench by developing draft picks and key FA pick ups. We know we have one of the greatest 6th men in the league with Anderson to build around. If picks like Darius Miller and Russ Smith can develop we are a championship team. Also people count Monty out way to quickly like he can't learn and become a better coach. He is so young and learning everyday he wakes up. Being a top coach with team USA can only help and grow him into what we all hope he will become.
Great game tonight Austin. meanwhile Eric Gordon continues to steal money.
I'm sick of watching Joan Rivers. I'd rather watch more Austin Rivers
Rivers will leave before Gordon. Gordon has a contract to play here next year, Rivers doesn't.
I'm not sure if I'd call Jrue all star level, still takes too many bonehead shots.
Rivers played good tonight but he still has a ways to go before I consider him a starting guard on a championship caliber team, which is what we are trying to build.
If he can play like this consistently and learn to spread the ball around a little better he can be a very good role player for us.
Evans is still better suited to play guard. And in the same lineup as Jrue and Evans, Rivers still isn't consistent enough with his jumpshot to play the Gordon role on offense(which amounts to lots of offball play, spot up shooting and occasional drive and drive and kick). Having Evans on guys like Kawhi Leonard and Durant in the playoffs is not a winning formula. Honestly what this team needs is a Trevor Ariza. A great 3 and D veteran guy who can allow Evans and Jrue to share PG duties and knock down their drive and kicks.
Gordon will be dumped as an expiring for nothing before we let Rivers walk. No way Rivers leaves and I think he has humbled a lot realizing he needed to improve and earn his minutes which he has. Rivers has been so unselfish and bought into the program not once complaining about time which is nice to see in this day and age. Monty is a father figure and very close to Doc. The direction this team is going in he will want to stay and be a winner along with the organization feeling the same way about him.
Where did you get all of that from?
Who knows how long Monty will be here?
Yes I agree with exactly what you said on Rivers but with his youth and the inprovement he has made leaves me with no doubt he will become a starting caliber guard on a championship team. If not starting then one of the more deadly players off the bench in the league. Look at guys like Danny Green and what he has done. Patty Mills and just about everyone on the Spurs including Belinelli. Players can improve and a lot as Leonard into a semi superstar talent. Am I saying Rivers is the next Leonard or Paul George? No but he has potential just as they did to make huge leaps like he has already. Our lineup with Evans at SF with 3 capable guys handling the ball at an elite level will give teams problems just like they give us. Evans is as tall and long as Leonard and Iguodala who both play the 3 at an elite defensive level. I think Evans under Monty can turn into a very good if not great defender by buying in and hard work. He has the heigh and length. You can't use 1 player in Durant on why he can't do it because beating them involves a team playing D together.
I got that information from the same place you got that Rivers was just going to leave. If we have a very good season Monty and Dell are going nowhere. we didn't draft Rivers with the 10th pick to just say bye when his contract comes up. They perfectly knew he needed to be developed and maybe more than what they expected but he is doing everything they could possibly ask of him.
