I hate the minor injury thing. It's absurd. Just because they're minor isn't an excuse, is it? And don't get me wrong, injuries DO happen. Especially minor ones. And he gets A LOT of those.

I can't believe I am about to say this but we are not getting close enough for Eric Gordon
Maybe Eric got tired of all this and got a PR account to defend himself!
Any time Ej tweeted something Hornets pelicans related he got trolled lol. He wished AD a happy birthday, and everyone started calling him a phony...
People with the he doesnt want to be here crap need to stop being butthurt. If you want him gone thats fine, but that argument is seriously getting worn out.
Yeah. My heart just isn't in that argument.
It's in Phoenix.
Haha eman got the jokes! Who's the cutie JNR?
Jennifer Lawrence, current Hollywood It girl.
AKA Catniss the Archery Girl from that movie about how you kill a mockingbird.
Daaaaaaaaaaamnnn...... She fine.
Ahh... Im not a real TV pop culture lad. I need to keep up with my inner gossip from now on.
While it can get overblown it is an issue that can't be overlooked. It sucks that we are in a position where we legitimately have to gauge EJ interest in staying here but this is the landscape in the new NBA with max contracts and limited years. The fact that Gordon can opt out after two seasons is huge.
I think you make more of that than anyone else. This is not a cash strapped, maxed out team. I also think the front office and coaches, ya know, people who actually interact with him daily, would know exactly where all this stands, hence no need to speculate. It's only fans that have to sit here and speculate based on just about heresay.
Why do Gordon a favor by trading him to a team he would love to play for in the Bulls? Do a sign and trade with Milwaukee where we give them Gordon for Jennings and Ellis. That's an upgrade at PG while keeping about the same offensive production at SG and the numbers work for that 2 for 1. Maybe throw in Vasquez for JJ or something to sweeten the deal.
Monta is a liability on D but he hasn't had too much stable, defensive oriented coaching during his entire career. I think he's going to be available for cheap this off-season and could provide us a solid 6th or 7th man. Spend some quality time in the new practice facility with Monty and Monta could be our answer to the new combo guard who can shoot the 3, and we'd basically get him in the same fashion we got Anderson - seen as a product of a system and wasn't highly sought after, which led to an amazing contract.
NOLA has to grab risk/reward type players in order to compete with the Wade's and Westbrook's of the world, who would never come here. Anderson worked out really well for us that way.
I think its safe to say, there is no chance that Gordon is going to fetch a package close to that. Gordon, GV, Ryno and another player might appease them. Then, there's the matter of signing both (Jennings is a free agent and Monta has an opt out that he plans on using this off season). Chances of sign and trading for both I'd non-existent.
Jennings is a RFA and apparently the team has little interest in keeping him but is going to match any offers. I can only think of one team, and they'd have to convince Monta to do a sign and trade... which I fully believe he would for the right team. I know for a fact he'd like to be closer to Jackson, MS and where his baby momma stay, Memphis, TN.
The two would likely cost $16m-18m combined, and Gordon is making ~$14-15m. Throw in Greivis's $4m contract and it's a pretty even trade. Throw in the 2014 2nd round pick if they need to.
The way I see it, the Bucks need a potential "superstar" who can score and will need a PG too. They're not in a position to ask us for Davis or Ryno. They're in a position to swap what they perceive as two "ok" guys in their mind for a guy who can be a top 5 SG (hahaha) and a guy who finished 3rd in assists. They want to rebuild without a drop off in production. They'd be one of the few teams that could take a gamble on Gordon because they have a proven guy in Redick on their bench too, should Gordon start the season PUP because of his injury(ies).
I think it's a lot more realistic than a roster swap with the Clippers, and It's one I'd be a whole lot more comfortable with.
I really like this idea.....Just don't know if its possible..
Jennings/Rivers
Ellis/FA
Draft pick/FA
Davis/Ryno
Lopez/Smith
No it's not that couldn't be any farther from the truth. The team has to be concerned with Gordon's future plans. Just like Orlando had to worry about Dwight, Denver and Anthony, Cleveland and LeBron, Toronto and Bosh, Dwight and L.A., Paul and L.A. etc. etc. etc. Not sure how you can say Demps shouldn't even have this on his radar.
That Demps has at least talked to Milwaukee, and that Milwaukee doesn't plan on moving forward with Brandon Jennings or obviously Ellis as Bucks. We'd be one of the few teams interested in Jennings, and even more so Ellis. There is a market for both but we've got to be one of the only teams that can offer them the $ they are going to want. On the other end, Vasquez to Sanders has to sound very appealing, and a healthy Gordon fits right in with what they want to do.
I did say I liked Jennings regardless of his inefficiency. Hmmm...
If it's down between him and Burke, I'd still rather Burke though.
re: mixlad1
Well, I really hope you're wrong. As individuals they're both chuckers and added to that they don't play that well together in Milwaukee so I don't know why we would want that combo.

Didn't gather that we wanted both. Kinda thought it was an either or thing, but really that we were more interested in Jennings.
Yeah, and I wouldn't want both of them for sure. It didn't work for Milwaukee, why would it work for us?
Because it did work for Milwaukee. Immediately following the trade with Redick playing the SF spot both guards finished strong. They were absolutely garbage when they didn't have a 3rd option.
I don't want Ellis to play the minutes he played in Milwaukee. Like I originally said, I want him as a 6th or 7th option... which I think he'd be excellent at. Jennings has a high ceiling if you can put talent around him, which is the only thing we really have right now... a supporting cast.
PG: Jennings/Roberts
SG: Rivers/Ellis
SF: Oladipo (could easily play)/whoever
4/5: any combination of the big men we have
Ok here is my new and vastly improved realistic offseason plan as I posted in another thread....
Trade 1:
Magic get Eric Gordon and 6th pick (Trey Burke)
Pelicans get 2nd pick (Ben McLemore) and Maurice Harkless
Trade 2:
Bucks get Greivis Vasquez and Robin Lopez
Pelicans get Brandon Jennings (11 million-max)
Sign:
1. Either Al Jefferson or Nikola Pekovic (11 million-max)
2. Either Chase Budinger or Corey Brewer (3-5 million a year)
3. Re-sign Roger Mason for around the vet minimum for his veteran bench presence.
Projected Pelicans lineup:
PG: Jennings/Roberts
SG: McLemore/Rivers/Mason
SF: Brewer/Harkless/Miller
PF: Davis/Anderson/Thomas
C: Jefferson/Smith
Pipe dream I know, but that would be a lineup that could eventually be better than OKC.
would the bucks sign and trade jennings and the 15th pick for gordon?
jennings might be inefficient as a scorer but still on a terrible team he averaged 20 points 6 assists and 4 rebounds last year, impressive none the less...
jennings
gordon
otto porter
ryno
davis
wowzers
There's absolutely no way that Jennings, Jefferson, or Pekovic should get a max contract.
