Ooops tht would be Phil Pressey. Paul was his dad! Lol
Shabazz is a tweener. Undersize for the 3 doesn't really have optimal quickness for the 2.
As for Ben vs. Trey I rather Trey. A tiny back court bothers me however Eric is a me 1st guy. As he should be, however you don't want guys like that controlling the ball all the time. As great as OKC is they would be that much better IMO if Westbrook wasn't such a me 1st guy or wasn't the lead guard.
Think about it, he's putting up these numbers with a very small frame, I don't know but I think that's really impressive. His potential is limitless, I personally would do anything in my power to try and draft this guy.
AD had a terrible game against T-Rob too he still went first! lol
What if Nerlens falls to us? I honestly would lose my mind. His defensive potential is limitless. Noel and Davis. Plus offseason PG signing and added bench, wow.

As far as Austin goes:
SOOOooo, we sign Pek and THEY draft Austin! :coolg: :bow:Quote:
11. Minnesota Timberwolves
Isaiah Austin, C, Baylor, 7-1, Fr.
Isaiah Austin is a rim protector with great length and the ability to knock down jump shots, although a lack of physicality is a concern. With Nikola Pekovic a free agent, a big should be on the radar as could a true wing scorer.
Then we play Minny next year and Pek throws the kid into the third row :hihi:
Its McLemore or bust, if we pick to far down trade back for picks and build our bench with players with gobs of potential. I could see a small ball lineup of River, Gordon, McLemore, Ryno, and Davis. That could score in bunches quick especially if Rivers game keeps growing (which I see the potental).
So if we get #6, we trade down? Uhhh, no. :hihi: McLemore might jump to top 3 the way it's going. We're not getting that this year.
I have a feeling I'm the only one who'd rather keep Lopez than throw money at Pek.
I just think this team has bigger needs than going after a starting Big w/ the rotation we have. We need to focus on getting a starting caliber SF or PG... and sure up our backcourt depth to have either a suitable PG to spell Rivers or someone on the wing who can knock down and create their own shots.
I'd rather have a combo of an AJ Price/Budinger or Bayless/Brewer or Nick Young kinda deal... we desperately need some scoring off the bench at the G position. Just having Ryno out there launching away and Smith being our 2nd leading scorer off the bench isn't going to cut it. And Rivers isn't exactly doing what some thought he would do off the bench.
TBlaze I know what you mean and I agree in part, but quality bigs don't come around that often and are harder to find. When you have a chance to make a monster frontcourt, you do it. That's why I'd rather our FA be a big followed by a 3 while drafting backcourt other than our FA splash be a PG and drafting a 3 or 5.
And I can understand that. But is Pek really worth that as a RFA that will surely drive his price up? I think our front court rotation is pretty much set w/ the 4 Bigs we have now.
I guess I'm just thinking in terms of a 7 game series when the rotations only go to about 8 people... I'm fine w/ Smith being that 9th guy off the bench to get a few minutes down low when you have Davis, Lopez, and Ryno commanding 90-95% of the minutes at the 4-5. I think it's more of a benefit to draft a big and have that rookie be more of an apprentice type than the punch we need scoring off the bench. Let some of these young FAs who are already broken in come and gun off the bench and get excited to be playing with this young team. That's just my opinion.
Noel, Mclemore, and Shabazz are all pipe dreams. Unless we get extremely lucky in the lottery, those players will be long gone when we pick.
We should be focusing our efforts on evaluating players like:
Porter, Smart, Carter-Williams, Burke, Pothyress, and Bennett.
McLemore is now #1 overall on WF.
Sam Bowie
Zeller would be a great fit if available.
Zeller does nothing for me. I'd rather Leonard from last year's draft over him.
Leonard? Really? Why do you feel that way? What does Leonard do that is remotely better than Zeller? Almost everything Zeller does is superior to Leoard.
Zeller looks like a power forward to me, rather len but honestly if we draft. Center this year the only one I like is noel, he could be a rim protected like camby
What I'm essentially saying is I care nothing for Zeller. My desire for Leanord is that if nothing else, he's bigger and doesn't have a minute -8 wing span or whatever it is.
Tweeners??? What the hell is a Tweener?
Man talk basketball and stop using Bloggers vocabulary! There's no such position in basketball that's called 'Tweeners', and there aren't any players called 'tweeners' that play that position! It's basketball, and neither Magic Johnson nor Dirk were called tweeners! So stop it!
Lmao, football says 'Hybrid' and now here you and fake NBA guru's want to come with 'tweeners' in the game of basketball!
Tweeners :biglol:
Small forward and power forward. More depends on his match up.
You know what a "Tweener" is dude. You want Alex Poythress to play the 3, but he's a prototypical 4. He's what they call a combo forward. Do you know any of these terms or do you just breathe out of your mouth and stare at the screen? He can play either position but it doesn't mean he'll be a good SF in the NBA. He is turnover prone and very inconsistent. Basically reminds me of AFA with maybe a slighty better mid range shot but doesn't play with near the intensity. He won't be a top 10 pick which is where we'll likely be picking so I don't know why you want him when guys like Porter and Bennett will be there when we pick.
Don't waste your time with Bigbreed.
He's just a self appointed know it all.
Did you know that he's NEVER been wrong about anything in his life? He also played basketball so he knows more than any of us about the game.
Depends on where we pick but, (1-5) McClemore, (6-10) Porter, & (11-14) Burke. Muhammad can score, which every team needs, but I don't know what else he would bring to the table.
Tweener is a term for a player who's skill-set and play style fail to match their body type.
Iverson had a SGs mentality but a PGs body.
I really don't want McClemore unless Demps is POSITIVE he can play the 3.
Also, I wouldn't mind Burke in that 6-10 slot... I'm fine with anyone of the following: Porter/Burke/Noel/Carter-Williams & Muhammad.
And that's precisely the point w/ Bass... we need another scorer on the wing. If we draft Bazz, then we give Aminu a nice sizeable contract and we have a good balance b/w the two at the SF for the next few years. That would be a really nice young core group there.
(Hopefully) Jennings/Vasquez/Rivers
Gordon/Rivers/Miller
Aminu/Bazz/Miller
Davis/Anderson
Lopez/Smith
Sign me up now.
Jennings + gordon + shabazz = teams will be having 20 offensive boards on us every night
If we end up with a top 6 pick, we better come out of the draft with a big. Len, Zeller, Noel, or Austin would be my first choice. We need to shore up that front court as we'll probably be out of the top half of the lottery after this season.
Remind me if shabazz is a shooting guard? Additionally, whilst anderson and lopez are very good offensive rebounders, they're pitiable on the defensive glass. That is helped quite a lot by aminu who is a beast on the boards, but put there davis @ center, anderson @4 (or lopez and davis, same thing anyway), shabazz gordon and jennings. If you tell me davis can block out 5 players at once I'm more than happy about it. If not, they'll feast on our defensive glass
Mclemore and move eg to starting pg
The Sonics errrr Thunder kinda had the same predicament, now I'm not comparing McLemore to Durant but they were in position to draft Durant and had Ray Allen. Wht if McLemore is far and away the best player in the draft. So far he is standing out. Not sure if he's taht much better than Shabazz but he's pretty awesome.
If McLemore or shabazz are on the board u gotta take them, when I have the chance at elite talent u take it regardless of ur roster, u can always workout a trade, say McLemore does become the next ray Allen and Gordon can't play pg, u package gordon and a first round pick for an absolute stud center or small forward, there are ways around it
Gordon is not a PG... it's that simple. He played it in college and didn't excel like at the 2.
He doesn't like being a full time PG... he's the "cornerstone"... don't make him play PG when he's fine at the 2.
