H-05, just enjoy the ride, man. It's all a part of it. It's speculation time. Deals that never were, almost were, were, are, etc...
hey he was giving us a heads up on who we may trade for, if it turns out that we get this player than well done, if we dont than ahwell, all we can do is try and guess or hope for who we want, and by the end of july we will know a lot more, im hoping for pierce but i highly doubt it i mean i dont think we have enough assets to trade for him.
I would not be surprised if they did alot of trading or one major trade this offseason. They did it last year, so why not this year.
as much as i hate being left on the edge of my seat like this, from what ive read in this post i love it...fingers are crossed
i feel the same im so excited i hope the days fly by i want to know
I think the draft was great and we'll have some quality pieces to add to the team who will make us better for a long time to come. But they are just warming us up........;)
But would you expect PJ and JR to be part of the same deal? And wouldn't the team bring back Aaron Williams and Marc Jackson?Quote:

Sounds good to me! :)Quote:

There's better ways to go about this, you know, ways that won't rile up our fans and posters. Thanks for doing that by the way!
as much as i love the possibility of us grabbing a good free agent, these little winks and soft hints are making me want to rip my hair out..i guess ill just have to deal with it
I can think of one big name sharp shooter who's now a FA. I'm thinking he may be the one we go after..
Is it Peja? Through some cash at him and move D-mase to SG. Thats a play-off team right there.
My head is gonna explode.
the list of FA's who are good shooters isnt that long, go do some research using the tools hoopshype has and it will become pretty clear
Dont forget Bower said in that T-P article he was working on 2 big trades, and looking at free agents. I'm pumped!
Maybe No1Hornet has a universal remote to see the future?!?
Honestly, there's a lot of things to be excited about this off-season. If you can't wait that long, find something to do.
I'm just guessing but I can see a Marion trade as a real possibility. Possibly a Garnett deal but we would have to unload a lot and I don't see Minny going for it without CP in the deal. Larry Hughes isn't a "shooter" so that nixes that in my mind. Guys like Peja and Harrington are free agents so I don't where these trades are.

With wild speculation on the parts of us that have no idea whats going on -- Kevin Garnett?!?!
Please?!
Doesn't Garnett play PF? We could trade JR, PJ, D-West for Garnett (and whatever needs to be put on either side as filler or whatever). Sure I don't know if thats fair or works under any collective bargaining agreement, but damn!
Can Peja play shooting guard? I know he couldnt guard anyone in that position but desmond can. Or is desmond going to play the two if Peja comes.
I actually seriously doubt that ... Garnett would be huge, especially with CP at the helm ... but I doubt Minny would go for that.Quote:

As for the "Don't knock on the Threadstarter" thingy ... sorry guys, but coming in here, having only a handful of posts total and claiming basically "Wooho, I know something but I can't tell" is not the way to go about it. It just riles up the people for nothing. Either tell something substantial or give some real hints, people can speculate and get excited about or, as a wise man once said, shut your pie-hole
TBE
I understand TBE. I think the guy is excited and wants the fans to get excited. I know thats how I feel right now. I know he doesn't have a high post count but he's been a member here for a long time. I'm certain he knows what he's talking about. Certain!Quote:

No1 can you tell us at least if he's a young player or an old player? Is taller than 6-6 or shorter? Is he a past all star or a yearly all star? Can you give us just one little piece? Only guys I can really think about being any worth to us is Wallace, Peja, Harrington, Allen or AI in a trade. But none of those guys would financially make any sense. Maybe with the exception of Peja. I could be wrong on the money part.
is he bald? is he white? is he a lefty?
Where did he go to High School? Does he have a uni-brow? Lazy Eye?
Jamal Crawford would be nice. Rashard Lewis? Paul Pierce? Quentin Richardson? Joe Johnson?
We are assuming that the Allstar player is a free agent. I doubt that the Hornets can sign a big time free agent so I suspect it is a trade involving the Nets. Contrary to what Shinn stated, players don't want to play for BS. Secondly Shinn wants to stay wat under the cap. About three weeks ago, Hoopshype had a rumor that RJ was available. Given that the Hornets drafted big and still needs a swing player, my guess it's Richard Jefferson.
I believe JR and PJ will be very very happy next week.
calm down guys,Its Magic Johnson.
if we really are talking some kind of a trade here how come we arent hearing ANY rumors from any teams if it really has a big name player in it wouldnt they be rumors from both teams alreay like on realgm or hoopshype etc are Hornets really that quiet?
I was screaming for RJ a year ago... hope your right. We would definately need a vet big if we did that.Quote:

If there is any validity to these proposed deals I'm all for it. Or somebody just wants to see everybody running with their head coming off trying to figure out everything. Personally I'm just going to wait and see. If something happens, GOOD! If not we have CP3, West, and two new big men. I'd say we're building this title run through the draft. And when it happens...it will be sweet!

Everybody wants a little more information. I questioned whether or not I could or should tell you anything else, but much of what is being discussed is very relevant. The trade which has been agreed to "in principle" but will not be reported until salary cap issues are resolved is very complicated and involves trading multiple players from the Hornets and other teams. You can rest assured that at least one of the players we'd pick up in the trade would be a "solid starter" and certainly an upgrade from our current starter at that position. It could be more than a two-team trade. The details on that are still being worked out and thus I wish I could hint what it might involve but don't know enough of "the facts" to give you anything else. As far as a Free Agent signing, the player most likely to come here (I'm deliberatley not confirming anything) will be a tremendous and expensive pickup. He's a player that most, if not all of you really like. As most of you know, we do have a lot of money to spend--expect one player to receive most of it. This player will fit into one of our biggest needs. We really helped ourselves by picking up two big men in the draft. They will both have the potential to start, but most likely you will see them competing against one another for one spot at the PF or C position.
Reading between lines.... Trading for RJ and going after Big Ben.Quote:

As for the trade, I have no idea. Will we hear something in the next few days or will it be around July 15?
If we ended up with Rashard Lewis or Richard Jefferson, I would be the happiest man alive.
Couple either of those guys with Ben Wallace... I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

woahh talk about make some noise
he did say a solid starter the 2nd time though guys are we getting a bit ahead of ourselves?
LMFAO you guys need to think about this whole thing before you get so damn excited
I know you are not confirming anything regarding the FA. But from what I understand, you sound rather sure this FA will end up with the Hornets.Quote:

I'd love to have Big Ben here, but I a) doubt he'd come here as I think he'll stay in Detroit and b) I doubt Hornets brass can be so sure about him coming here (or anyone else you might mean) ... going after Big Ben or another big name FA (which aren't many this year) would be great. But I have my doubts about those FA actually signing with the Hornets.
"Solid Starter" btw doesn't scream RJ to me either ... he is more than that.
I know I am a little negative :D ... but I don't want to get my hopes too high up.
@Harvey
Point taken ... but it still feels a little sour to me.
o agree rashard lewis and rj are more than solid starters there almost all stars, hmmmm
I know, right?Quote:
