With Paul George and Jerami Grant on board, Oklahoma City now has a payroll of $156M with 11 players under contract. Because of the repeater tax penalty, the Thunder currently have a tax bill of $130M. The tax bill would be the largest in NBA history.

New Orleans GM Dell Demps has asked current players to reach out to free agent Tyreke Evans about returning to the Pelicans, according to a source.

Boogie is not nor was he prior to injury up for super max. I CAN'T BELIEVE this delay is about money. I think he wants to be on west coast. History tells us the Pels will pay, so what else can it be. Still want him back, but have to question his heart. If he isn't in to being here he should say so. Can't imagine Dell is holding back money unless they don't want to go into tax. Even then make the max offer then unload salary.
New Orleans Pelicans All-Star free agent center DeMarcus Cousins received calls from the Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers tonight once free agency began and is expected to have meetings scheduled with both teams soon, a source told ESPN's The Undefeated.
— Marc J. Spears (@MarcJSpearsESPN) July 1, 2018
The Pelicans have been said to want to use their MLE (which Evans would be in range for) and keep Rajon Rondo. They do those things, will be tough to also keep Boogie for an even below-market deal without hitting the tax. https://t.co/g5hJAexyRn

Man, we aren’t moving on from Boogie. Ms. Benson would have Demps’ balls hanging off the end of a stick like that monkey in The Lion King if we let Boogie go.

I’m starting to doubt pels keep boogie. LAKERS are a big market and would be very exciting to play with Lebron. Really really disappointed right now.
