I've been following the NBA since 1969. I was at Bernard King's 60 point game (Michael Ray Richardson stole the show for the Nets). I was at Air Jordan's first game at MSG.
I watch every playoff game. I now have NBA League Pass so I can be more selective. I saw the Pelicans' game last night.
I can't imagine what anyone means by "If Zion gets his act together..." Last night was one of greatest games I've ever seen by a player on offense. Rudy Gobert is a 3x Defensive Player of the Year. Minnesota is the top-rated defensive team in the NBA.
Zion missed his first 2 shots, and missed two early in the 3rd quarter. The latter 2 were rebounded by New Orleans and converted to 2nd chance points. Otherwise, Zion did not miss. KAT fouled out. Rudy had to be careful with 4.
Zion made a few nice passes- but that was selfish of him. He just kept attacking one on four, spinning right and left, finishing with ease or getting fouled- or both. The crowd was a little sleepy- he should have been given a long standing ovation.
It was a man playing with boys. One boy might be 7'2", the best shot-blocker on the planet. He had no chance against this man. All Zion needs is a fair NBA whistle.
