I hope not. If Dunn is gone then trade down, then grab Trimble/Baldwin(pg) and Bacon/luwawu(SG with size to cover SF).
Hield just doesn't feel right. I guess it's because he is really a volume shooter and I don't see star potential like I do with guys above.
Valentine is ok but watching Michigan State I think he is a product of scheme, he plays like a pg in their system.
Jamal Murray is a good player I'm on the bubble with. I see good things on offense but not sure about his defense.
Buddy Hield is NOT an NBA player.
Hield is a absolutely an NBA player
I think Kris Dunn will be gone with our pick. Smh damn Minnesota and their amazing Nucleus they will have. I envy them so damn much man.
My next guys are all high risk high rewards, but my reasoning is based on leadership, grit, and will to win which this team lacks greatly.
Heild
Murray
Valentine
Or trade back and grab Tremble (who I'm not a huge fan of) and Bacon( who I'm scared like hell of)
Worst we can do with our position is draft Skal, Bender, or Rabb. Does guys will bust so hard imo and be the opposite of character that we will need.
Hopefully Jalyen Brown and Buddy Heild kills draft workouts and move up top three, so someone will fall.
Trust me I understand the scare of having him as a Pels player. He is truly a hit or miss. Can be role player at best,or the next best SG in NBA. He is that risky. But thing he brings to this team that we lack is consistent scoring.
The last player that was supposed to be our consistent scorer was Eric Gordon
I feel like Luwawu will be a better, more complete player. He will be much better defensively and still has offensive potential. His length + athleticism is impressive. I think Luwawu will be in the 10-15 range, but we will be picking top 8. He would be a great fit here though.
I also like Tyler Harris (Tobias Harris' brother) from Auburn in the 2nd if he's there.
Outside of Simmons, Ingram and Bender no one in the draft is a sure thing. Hield is far from a NBA All-Star or even a starter, and I watch Big 12 basketball all the time (WVU Fan). Hield is a great college player, the best in the nation easily, but as a pro prospect he lacks a lot of things. We don't need another tweener, we need a dominantly athletic player to pair next to AD that has to be respected. Buddy Hield can be shut down 1v1 by even a slightly above average NBA defender. He doesn't have fluid enough hips to get around NBA level quickness on the perimeter consistenly, and he isn't big enough to be able to shoot over them either. If we draft Buddy Hield in the top 10 it would go down as one of the worst moves Dell Demps has ever made, and that's saying something, he's a terrible GM.
You guys are looking at International prospects like at something mysterious and unknown.
Today David Fisher put a list of prospects at TBW. And not mentioned Bender.
For Int prospects used only stats and not seen them in action.
Guys. Go on and find some highlights. And think about them.
Bender is very young but if he will work on his strength he will be nba ready in june.
Luwawu has too much bust potential. Bennett-like.
Korkman is a pure shooter but is too young. His body is not nba ready. I will be surprised if he will play in the nba next year. I think that he will choose the road to nba like Saric. 2 years in Europe...
People in Europe think that Bender is nba ready. In top 3. Maybe top 5.
There might be some prospects for around 40th pick when Dell will be interested. I will give some names soon. But no one looks like a steal...
We are getting dangerously close to the first NBA player born in the year 2000...
*sigh*
You are way off on Luwawu. Not even close to that kind of bust potential. That would be Jaylen Brown. Luwawu will be a good player in the league.
International players scare the hell out of me. The ratio of successful players from overseas is bad.
Possible. Like in any draft.
In 2012 I loved Robinson. He is such a bust.
I Was not in love with Gobert and Giannis...
Internationals are busts more frequently than guys from US or from the North.
But this assumption is based on top draft busts like Milicic,Bargnani etc...
LoL I love how people maybe watch a handful of a player and all the sudden know he is going to bust. Honestly people saying Hield is going to bust or be the worst player in Pelicans history how in the hell do you know that by watching a couple of games? I just think it's funny how many armchair scouts come out because they go look up a player profile of somebody or see them dominating and want to throw out that they won't translate. Anybody saying they guarantee this player will be great or terrible needs to realize absolutely nobody knows what's going to happen and that includes the best talent evaluators in the world. Nothing wrong with giving your opinion but throwing out guarantees and how they will be the worst pick ever is a little over board.

This guy currently sitting at 30th pick on NBADraft.net but I could see him shooting up the draft board. Stanley Johnson 2.0 is pretty accurate.

Telling you this guy is perfect for San Antonio/Golden State style ball, great passer, smart player, great shooter. We need to trade for him draft night.
Been high on him all season. I think he is going to be a stud and the type of player you need to be a winner. He is the Draymond Green of the SG/SF position. He is the total package and brings you a great skill set to the game. I think he would be great in a Ginobli type role for us.
Valentine is projected to be in the late lottery/mid first round
so still in our range
not saying that he should be our choice, cause right now I am watching prospects to select my own mock :)
as to International players for the 35-45th pick. it does not look good.
There is maybe only Juan Hernangomez (6,9, SF/PF) who is revelation this season in Spain. 24 mins 11pts, 0.341 from 3. He is playin at PF, but his body is not prepeared for this position in the NBA.
Other candidates are work in progress.
From my European point of view there is no reason to use our 2nd rounders for European prospects...
Use a pick on Nigel Hayes or someone (if available)
