Al Jefferson

Jefferson is better suited at the 4 with a defensive big at the 5.

Wanting or not wanting jefferson is not conditional on anything, except if we get Durant or LeBron IF we sign him. Which is not happening. So no, it doesn't matter who we get. I don't want Jefferson.

Jefferson works best if you can surround him between a great overall interior defender (help, post, ball screen) and 3 excellent perimeter defenders. Think IND with Hill/Stephenson/George and Hibbert (but faster). Of course, those same 4 players should also be able to complement him on offense since even with Jefferson + 4 great defenders, you'll probably have a barely above average defense.

You think we have anyone close to Hibbert's post defense and weakside? Davis can get there. CAN.
Do you think we have 3 excellent perimeter defenders? We have a mixed bag of perimeter defenders -- between hopeless (Vasquez), clueless (Roberts), good on-ball but bad team (Gordon) and average in a lot of things (Rivers) and great off-ball and average on ball (Aminu).

We'd have to overall a LOT on our team for me to be ok with him. He'd be great, with say, Oklahoma (between Russ/Thabo/Durant/Ibaka) or some version of PHI (Holiday, Turner and Thad). But he's NOT someone I'd want here.

We need a big man that can score. Im down.

I like Jefferson, but he would be such a huge liability defensively in the P&R. I want guys that can do everything without being a liability.
