Right now... I would take Len, Zeller, & McCollum over Oladipo.

He didn't measure well & he's not an upgrade over Gordon. No matter what you haters think.

He's not, but the Dipo lovers are putting it all on his potential and Gordon staying injured for 40+ games for the rest of his career here.

I'm starting to wonder with the way the game is changing if Gordon could be our PG. We played him there a good bit to close the season and he had a lot of success. That would open the door for McLemore or Oladipo.

Gordon doesn't want to play point. They tried it at Indiana unsuccessfully.

I don't think he would do well defensively guarding other PGs unless he dropped some of his bulk. I also think it would take away from some of his scoring.

I always thought they drafted Rivers to play the point? I hope Gordon and Rivers turn out to be what I wished Chris Paul and Smith(with the Knicks) would do.

Gotta agree. Dipo is one of my least favorite players in the Top 10. The antithesis of what this team needs.

I disagree. Monty said all kinds of coaches come and tell him Eric's best and natural position is the point. He played point a good bit in his rookie year and did well.

Yeah, Eric played PG his entire career up until the NBA, and he was great at it. If BPA is a SG, then take him and play EJ at the 1. And by the way, Monty basically said they are going BPA based on need - as in, if there are 2 guys rated the same, they will go for need, but they won't draft a lesser player just based on need. That's obvious.

I worry about Gordon's defense againt PGs. He struggles against the pick n roll and I don't think he can keep up with the quicker PGs in this league, especially guys like Rondo, Rose, CP3, Westbrook, etc.

Also, I think he takes away from his scoring, by having him run the point. He's a natural scorer and a SG.

Well, there are different types of PGs. You have guys like Westbrook, DRose, and people of that nature who are "scoring" PGs, and I think Gordon would fit that role well. If we did switch to PG, I'd like to see him drop a few lbs, which would a) make him quicker, and b) should help him health-wise not having to carry extra weight. I'd say Gordon certainly has the vision to play the point, and I believe he was one of the best PnR guards in the league 2 years ago (statistically). He basically runs the offense as a SG, so the only major difference offensively would be him bringing the ball up. Defensively, I'd like to see him pressuring the ball. I think he could do well in that role.

What's more is he wouldn't have to do it for a whole game. There would be spurts where Rivers takes over, and he could even give you 15-20 minutes/game at the point, letting Gordon play off the ball.

I used to be on that wagon as well, but Gordon seems to have lost his handles. He loses control of his dribble too often to play the point now. IMO...of course this could be cause of the injuries and lack of playing time. His handles used to be on point. I guess if he is able to get back to the way he handled the ball Pre-new Orleans then I'd be on board. You already know I'm a big Gordon supporter btw. Just my take tho. Im For whatever makes us a better team tho. It is what it is.

well if u draft oladipo and put gordon at the 1 then u just put oladipo on their pg and let gordon defend the SG.

I like Burke. Pels can look to upgrade at the 1,2,3 or 5. Burke looks like he will have most impact. Its all pick and roll; drive and dish these days. Can't pass on stud like Burke at the 1 to rely on EG experiment or limited GV.

I like Oladipo as a prospect, but feel like Pels need scoring and playmaking from wing - even though the D sucked last year too. So its BPA - but with due regard to how the player fits with the talent and the system.

Here is a question for you guys. We all almost agree that our biggest needs re PG and SF. Given that we have two major ways to fill those needs, either via our lottery pick or using our cap space. I'm leaving out any trade possibilities because they are not guaranteed. So, the Q is:

Which of the following options would you prefer:
1- (Drafting Burke and signing a SF such as AK47 (if opted out) or Corey Brewer)
2- (Drafting a SF "Porter or Bazz" and signing a PG "Jennings")

Personally, my ideal situation would be to sign Jennings and draft Porter. But in all likelihood, he would be gone when we draft. I would still pick Bazz and sign Jennings.

Jennings /GV (assuming not traded)/Roberts
EG / Rivers/ serviceable sg
Aminu/Bazz / Miller
AD / Ryno/ serviceable pf
Lopez/ Smith/ another big body

Your opinions?
