I like the dude, but am not a believer. He is going to get hurt fallin all over the place trying to finish. I admire it, cause he cant finish near the rack; but he's going to need to stop and pop in the future. ((BTW how the heck can he not shoot FT's???)
To prove me wrong he will have to come back next year with the 'ball on a string'. Cause he was so far from having the necessary handles on the ball with his left hand especially, (and comfortably viewing the court while dribbling) that developing it in ONE off-season will demonstrate he has what it takes from a professional standpoint.

I agree with you about Henson. At the 10th spot, I liked him along with Terrence Jones, Jeremy Lamb and Meyers Leonard. Would have been happy with any of those guys at the 10th spot over Rivers and I'm not a huge believer in Rivers, but he's still young.

I think Oladipo and Burke are close in my opinion. Not a huge difference in overall talent. Since there is not a huge difference, question is which guy provides more of a need. If Gordon is around, do we need Oladipo long-term? If Gordon is out of the picture, I go with Oladipo over Burke. Otherwise I go with Burke.

He's not anything like that to be honest. He can be a distributor and score when needed. His assist rate to turnover rate was impressive this past season.

Well I think you have to go back to what this team needs? If you made a list of things this team needs I think you would be able to look at Bledsoe and mark everything off that list. He's exactly what we need. And in terms of shooting, if you look at the numbers among PG's, he's average at the rim, above average in the paint, below average from midrange, and is shooting 40% from 3pt range, though he doesn't take it all that much.

Oladipo wasn't dominant on defense until this past season. Its a red flag as far as being a star talent because basically he dominated a level which is severely watered down compared to the NBA game and it took him 3 seasons to do it. How will that translate to the NBA level? How long will it take him to be a consistent contributor? Will his shooting translate to a much longer 3-point shot? Will he be able to defend more gifted NBA players compared to the college game?

Burke will struggle defensively in the league. Don't think he'll be an efficient offensive player either.

If Gordon is around long-term, than I think Bledsoe will be fine because that will be alot less pressure on him offensively. Now if Gordon is not a long-term option, the team may need to address another position outside the point. I think Oladipo, Burke, and Porter are similar overall, but I think Porter is being underrated on this forum. He's a really good player who can start right away at SF in this league. Personally, I think he's a better overall prospect than Harrison Barnes, but I can be accused of being biased since I wasn't that high on Barnes coming out.

I agree Burke will struggle defensively. People compare him to CP3, but his defense isn't anywhere close. A fair comparison is Lillard. Both are similar. Lillard is a more efficient scorer, Burke is a better passer, and both stink defensively.

I'm so so on Porter. Mostly because this forum went through a phase where they were overrating him.

Honestly I'll welcome anyone we pick, but I'm not all that high on anyone in this draft.

I've always liked the idea of adding those guys who have one very good or elite skill that go late in the draft. A Jeff Withey, Doug McDermott, Gorgui Dieng, Allen Crabbe etc. Maybe make a move for Bledsoe and LA's first this year and next somehow. Those are the guys that really lead teams to championships.

That was my point. I said he wasn't an elite defender until his junior year and that he didn't dominate until his junior year.

Yeah, 97 drtg isn't all that great in college.

He was still better than Burke his soph year.

Ad only got to 80 drtg in his one year.

I think he is ready to go def in the nba. Heck who knows. Drummond didn't do anything in college and is doing well in nba

I wonder what we would have to give up to get the Clippers' to do all that? Give up Gordon?

Agreed.

I think Burke will be a fine player, but he will be a player you can pick apart advanced stats wise. Low efficiency, high turnover rating, poor defender.

I've seen Burke lock up on defense enough not to worry as much as others. The key will be to have him do so consistently. Same with Paul he was a suspect defender leaving Wake.

He was better than Burke defensively his sophomore season, but not overall as a player. Still, Burke and Oladipo are the same age and Oladipo was a little better this season overall. However, if we keep Gordon, than Oladipo isn't much of a need. I have Oladipo barely higher than Burke overall.

I really like Crabbe from Cal if we somehow acquire a late first round. I think he can be a solid wing defender from the start and has a baseline of a defensive specialist role player, which is never bad. But he can score to, just don't know if he will effectively score in the NBA.

Top 5 draft pick and Greivis Vasquez for Eric Bledsoe and picks?

I think some will scoff at that but I don't think they get how much better this team would be with Bledsoe at PG. Especially if Gordon returns to form, which Monty seems confident in.

That's his strength taking care of the ball. Don't know how you project him to be poor at it at the next level.
